I recently took a look at the leaderboards for the duels, and you're still in the Top 10 all these years later. Bravo, you legend.
3:40 i like how in the story mode he just stands there with no fear, and no movement. while in duels mode he actually moves around like everyone else
Yeah, but makes sense since the the lorewise says that in the duel he was drunk as hell, so pretty much Silas and John never had a REAL duel, and we never knew if John was actually faster than Silas.

2021. Still watching this. Can't imagine though who could've kill Jesse James in fair duel, that guy was faster than a cobra.

Duels barley happend, Jesse James was never known for fighting duels or being a fast draw

i finished the game never getting a speed higher that 50% xD how can u keep the focus so .. focused XD
I already explained it in one of the comments below. Basically, you should rotate your mouse (or thumbstick) in small circles or jerk it left and right quickly. Doing that should help you keep the aiming reticle in one place.
***** How did you get along with another guy (krow?) such highscores in arcade mode and especially such high combos like 102, when there are only 60 enemies?
Manu Airso I haven't played the game since 2013, so I don't know how the current leaderboards look or who that krow guy is. But a 102 combo on a level with 60 enemies sounds like some kind of glitch exploit to me. No idea how to do that.
I can tell you that I got my scores legitimately, by stacking various bonuses like Headshot / Eyeblink / Last Breath / Full Blast / Piercing Shot and by completing each level fast enough to earn the maximum time bonus. That's where 75% of my points come from.
Another major contribution is Falling bonus that you get for killing people mid-jump. It's pretty hard to pull off but it's worth a lot (100 base points). I learned about this trick from this guy: czcams.com/video/dDrUMqKeVwI/video.html
He isn't very consistent with it though, as he only get the Falling bonus on maybe 20-30% of the enemies, while I managed to achieve 80-90% rate on most levels.
***** ^^ A German as I am though a bit bragging. I am still wondering because you got about 3-4 times of my score, and I did a big combo with mostly headshots, how can the scoring system get you 300% only for some jumping and stuff o.O.
Anyway, yeah it's only the KROW guy who got on every map 100+ combos, maybe it is some secret trick but even with that combo he is not much better than you, on many maps even behind you.

Manu Airso There are a lot of score bonuses in the game. It's not just jumping. Simply getting headshots is not enough. It's a bare minimum if you want a big score.
To give you an example: if you headshot an enemy that will only give you: *Normal kill bonus (50) + Headshot (50) = 100 base points*.
If you shoot him in the head in concentration mode with a shotgun from a close range, in the middle of the jump, while on low health that would be: *Normal kill bonus (50) + Headshot (50) + Eyeblink (50) + Full Blast (100) + Falling (100) + Last Breath (50) = 400 base points*.
So there you have a 400% difference just for one kill.
Plus you can also score Piercing Shot (100) if you kill people through objects and Longshot (50) if you are using a pistol instead of a shotgun.
You also need to complete each level fast enough to earn the maximum time bonus (which adds up to a 30% of your total score).
There are a few other advanced tricks that let you score extra 50-100k on some maps, but what I said should be enough to explain the difference.
I looked at your screenshots and that Krow guy definitely looks like a cheater. I would understand if he had combos that were double of the number enemies (like if there were 47 enemies, he would have a 94 combo). But he has the same 101 and 102 combos on every map, regardless of the number of enemies. And his scores are wildly different each time (like 500k and 900k for the same 101 combo), which doesn't make any sense.
As for the steam thread you linked -- it's just a bunch of jealous losers whining. None of them knew how to play the game very well (because none of them were even in the global top 10 when that thread was created) or ever had any proof to back up their claims. Just noobs being noobs.

you can kinda see his gun circle a and jiggle around, indicating that while he drew very fast it took him a moment to adjust his aim
If anyone is looking for some tips and tricks for the duels or maybe trying to complete the achievement even now, many years later, I dare to write some detailed advice, tips and tricks here. It took me like 10 hours to do the achievement, so I feel entitled to do so :D
1) Once the heartbeat starts, hypnotize the opponents hand. Look closely at his hand and don't focus on anything else. Drawing as fast as possible is obviously the key here, because once you draw, the times slows down.
2) Use higher mouse sensitivity. Not lower. You can change the sensitivity in the game settings. Higher sensitivity means you don't have to move your mouse as much in order to keep the reticle on the opponent and generate focus.
3) Try to memorize the speed in which different opponents draw their gun, as each guy always draws the gun in the same speed every time. Plummer and Billy the Kid draw the fastest, at around the second heartbeat. Olinger and James draw around the third heartbeat and the rest around the fourth or later.
4) When the opponent shoots, dodge the bullet by leaning to the right, pressing "D". Leaning to the right at the correct time always works, you will dodge the bullet every time (I do believe that this is an oversight by the devs and it wasn't supposed to work this way, but it does). This is not the case with leaning to the left and thus, never lean to the left.
5) In the level with two brothers, the brother on the right (the smaller one) always draws first, which means you gotta kill him first too. In the last level with Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, Sundance Kid (the one on the left) always draws first.
6) No, it's not easier on the controller. I've tried it.
7) The quality of your mouse (response time) probably plays a role, but not a big one.
8) It's about practice (even though RNG plays a role too), but I hope that my tips and tricks will make the necessary practice time a bit shorter. Good luck.
i just completed the game many years ago and duels made much rage with so unenjoyeble expirience
so then I came back to the game just today and duels also pissed me off.
I just dont get how the dude on the video somehow makes then hand 100% by simply click a\d... and the hand is litterally almost is not moving... it just moving right directly to the handle... why and how? just when I tryed first duel I was trying to control the hand... and well there was not more than 10%
I just improved and on the duel where I got stuck it somehow rises to 50% close to the end of the duel... but it does not makes any sence. I completelly dont see how its happening. I though maybe its related to focus... and from the video - nope, obviously its not.
So I really appreciate your advises as they sounds like good pointing on general tactic stuff... just I dont understand how the general mechanic even supposed to work and still cannot find appropriate answer

You look at their heads. If one's looking at you when you start to hear the heartbeats, he's going to pull his Six-Shooter. You just have to switch between them and watch carefully.

Got almost the same record as you yesterday (520,591 i think) my reactions were around 0.231 seconds. Didnt get that score due to missing a shot on billy and pat
How in the hell do you get the reticle to not wander all over the damn screen? For me it just goes all over and when I fight it with the mouse it starts moving a different direction, often times in the same direction I'm having to push it so it ends up going too far and I have to push it back and it never stops. What's your secret?

I got like a similar amount like this score for duels is it random they all reach for their six shooters every time you play duel mode? I tend to pull a bit late a little that I can’t time correctly to pull at the same time for the high score

Hot damn! Anyone agree that Silas Greaves is one of the best and fastest guns out there? As much as I like the Man with No Name, I think Silas is better.
I been playing this game for a long time and was curious how to get really high scores like this in duel mode and three stars in arcade mode do you have to be like lightning quick to get a very high score?
In arcade mode you just have to connect all the multipliers and keep them high until you finish the level

У меня сложилось впечатление, что концентрацией пи цела и и руки над револьвером занимались два человека или же глаза этого игрока смотрят в разные стороны так, чтобы контролировать две части экрана одновременно. Другого такого научного объяснения этому феномена у меня просто нет)

Just cant seem to time it right, I have no problem on the speed or focus when do I shoot and do I double tap mouse or 1 click?
Two clicks with a small delay between them (0.1-0.2s) to let the crosshairs settle in. With a double click you'll shoot immediately after drawing the gun -- the spread will be terrible and you will most likely miss.

I got 0.000s a couple of times :) But that was pure luck. My best proper shots were in the 0.100-0.120s range.

@@fxckpluggin , скорость - это управление рукой на русские ф (влево) и в (вправо), рука должна быть близко к кобуре и если ровно держать - рука начинает опускаться всё ближе к пистолету, когда визави начинает стрелять, если рука была правильно удержана, то он моментально выхватывает пистолет, давая вам фору для стрельбы

I complete duels only on 428 000 points, i got speed always something about 90-100% but focus 80-95%...only in special cases ive got 100% on focus. My reaction time is 0.3 seconds, and total time 0.6-0.7 seconds. 🙃 But im not good enough to defeat you 😂

5 y.o me trying to understand how to beat bob and gratt while not realising u can dodge.
Realised that after 6 years.
Also sometimes i would get a glitch like if you pull out revolver at same time as opponent it would be so slow the bounty time wouldnt decrease for a few seconds
