I think players get so uptight about their pace ratings because it's the easiest to compare irl with other players. All of the other ratings are pretty subjective, but if you're rated at 80 pace and one of your teammates is given 85 pace, but you know you can beat that teammate in a footrace in training, it sticks in the craw a little
They really enjoyed that ratings reveal, for 3 people who clearly have no idea what it means, it's like they were drunk or something 🤣

Players care about their pace as much as we FIFA players care about it too. It is an important tactor of the game, so when Laporte has a pace of 61 and Van Dijk has 81, that's a little upsetting for the player for example.
