    Haaland will get the headlines but Ortega was absolutely immense. The Tottenham fans who jeered Ortega right after he came on for Ederson hoping to rattle him failed to realize that Ortega could not only legitimately start for any Premier League side but is just as good as, if not better, than Ederson with both the ball at his feet and shot stopping. Pep has the best back-up keeper in the league, even better than Kelleher at Liverpool.

    Kevin De Bruyne is ridiculously efficient at generating goals. That’s now 6 goals and 18 assists having only played 1,604 minutes this season (G/A every 66.83 minutes). By comparison, Martin Odegaard’s 11 goals and 9 assists in 3,963 minutes comes out to a G/A every 198.15 minutes. De Bruyne is literally generating a goal for City at three times the rate of the much praised Odegaard. Like Haaland, De Bruyne is completely off the charts and is now the second all time Premier League leader in assists with 112.

    • @FishAndKid
      @FishAndKid Před 16 dny +1

      During Corona (so no crowd) The home field advantage was the same as when there was a crowd.. There are more things to playing away. You have to go away from your family, travel time, probably sleeping in a hotel and so on. The away dressing room is usually designed to be as mentally draining as possible. The crowd is most likely a factor as well, but the other things combined are far more important.

      Pep in 14 year managerial career 39 trophies ( possibly 41 by end of May )

    Manchester City are now on the brink of winning their 4th consecutive Premier League title and their win against Tottenham today is exactly what you expect from champions and they do this over and over again. They’re seriously about to be the first ever team to win 4 consecutive Premier League titles a feat that not even Sir Alex Ferguson achieved with Manchester United. Arsenal were really relying on their North London rivals to take points off of City to keep the title in their hands, but in typical Tottenham fashion, they crumbled and when you’re a team that wants to win a title, don’t rely on any favors from Tottenham. A wise man once said, it’s the history of Tottenham and they themselves are out of a champions league spot now.
    In recent years, Tottenham has been Manchester City’s bogey team. Apart from their FA Cup win, prior to today, they hadn’t won a premier league game at Tottenham Hotspur stadium and every time they played in that stadium there was curse haunting them. There was a feeling that history was gonna repeat itself and they would drop points to this team. Luckily Tottenham are out of form, but anyways in a difficult game, away from home in a stadium they’ve struggled in the past, Manchester City secured a huge win winning 2-0 and managed to once again scrape away a win meaning that it’s their title to lose. At the end of the season, they’re just inevitable and whoever play against, it doesn’t matter for Manchester City because they’ll pick up the points even when they’re not at their best. Arsenal have been excellent and they tried to make the premier league competitive and they did very well in that, I’m sorry but congratulations on Manchester City for turning the “Premier League into a farmers league” and winning their 6th title in 7 years. That’s incredible dominance and consistency despite teams pushing them all the way for the title on multiple occasions. Even in a season where we had 3 teams competing for the title, guess what it’s going to be the same old story on match day 38, Manchester City lifting the premier league title. Ok the league is still competitive but isn’t this what we’ve been seeing from Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, I know that many of these title races have gone right down to the wire and they’ve been decided on the final day of the season, but no matter how they play it doesn’t change the Manchester City are dominating the premier league year in year out and at this rate, I see them winning the next 3-4 league titles in a row and for the premier league the fact that they’re about to win 6 titles in 7 years 4 consecutive league titles in a row that’s not a good look for the league and I hope they Liverpool and Arsenal strengthen their squads even further this summer.

      I don't see City winning the next 3 or 4 titles after this year, they may not even win next year. The league gets more competitive every season and has more top managers than ever before. Going forward I think we will see as many as five teams battling for the title and making it very difficult for any one team to pull away, let alone dominate. Whatever happens, I just hope it continues to be as fun to watch as it has been. Klopp will be missed.

      Because it as a neutral you'd like to see a different team win it for the integrity of the league as a whole. It's great for city but not so much for everyone else. The reason the league stood out was because of its unpredictablility and shocks. You wouldn't see a team winning 10 titles in a row and its heading to that that. So that's my guess.
