- In this elden ring video I'm testing if any of the strongest bosses in elden ring can survive the pre release version of astel.
In case you're not aware of this astel had a different name before the release of the game and could also start the fight with the meteors while getting help from his clones during the fight.

Unironically, this is SUCH a fun fight in 1.00 because it makes Astel into something you'd unquestionably believe singlehandedly wiped out the Eternal City in Deeproot Depths immediately upon its arrival. I wish it had been kept more like this on release tbh.
Also, the Placidusax vs. Astel battle here was utterly spectacular here! A perfect match.
I wish some things were still as in 1.00

The really terrifying part is, some of this things moves (the waves of darkness most obviously) visibly do not work correctly and it is STILL this strong
it's quite interesting that this Astel uses the gravity field a lot more but doesn't have the waves of darkness attack
regular astel has 3 versions of waves of darkness that he loves to spam but this one doesn't really have the "waves" feature of them. it's just a slam

I know that Astel has probably been beneath the lands between for centuries, but I like the idea that Radahn was holding the stars in place because he could sense Astel and his brother were among them and the meteorite that crashes in limegrave after killing Radahn is actually Astel.

What is that voice line that you are playing for Gideon? Did you make that yourself, or is it from a show?
Not sure if you don’t already do this, but it would be a better comparison if for bosses with a single phase you double their health when they fight a 2 phase boss. Separating the phases into 2 fights might also work to make the fights more interesting. Love the content!

Morgott's dementia kicked in at the worst possible moment
I remember that Astel in the snowfield was even more terrifying. Unlike the current version, there were several clones left behind, so I was in despair during the first battle. Thankfully, the clones weren't very aggressive.

i doubt such a mo actually exists. there are few mods that upgrades Placi a bit, but none of them is on the level of Unalloyed malenia

You should do a battle royale with all the prime version of bosses, like unalloyed Melania, prime Radahn, etc.
I would like to see a fight between all the mini bosses. Like magma wyrms, watchdogs, tree sentinels, cleanrot knights, etc.
The roar dragons use to summon lighting has to be one of the most counterproductive moves in the game.

Seems the stars became just too much for Radahn to hold back any longer.🤣🤣🤣
I think one thing that needs to change in these videos is the distance between opponents. Ranged opponents just get free hits in. Doesn't have to be reduced completely but still needs to be made smaller because some melee opponents just seem to walk towards opponents rather than rush them, which is just free hits.
The meteors aren't doing their full damage since the water in the arena is increasing fire resistance for both entities
I miss this version of Astel. This fight was intense. Closing the gap was a pain. Just for him to nope out across the room. You had to keep your head on a swivel watching for those ambushes while also dodging his attacks. He was my 3rd big boss I fought on my first playthrough and really made me feel like I was up against a wall. Renalla and Redan weren't much compared.
Astel and the Elden Beast are so damn similar it’s scary. Almost thinking that the fingerslayer blade might be made from whatever Astel used to be. Astel has always seemed undead to me. Like the version we fight is not necessarily its prime. But I think that Astel is equal to the Fingerslayer blade in the same way the Elden Beast is equal to the Sacred Relic Sword. If you catch my drift. Like maybe if you wanted to, and you were strong enough after killing the Elden Beast you could use its essence to make another Fingerslayer blade. I go back and forth with what/who came first. But given that Astel has other creatures related to it in the Lands between leads me to think it isn’t directly “related” to the Elden Beast. But maybe it’s The Beast vessel of the God that the Nox had to kill to make the Fingerslayer blade? This theory is based purely off the vague similarity between Astel and The Elden Beast but also the designs of the two blades and the fact that we encounter both Astel and the Fingerslayer blade in the old underground city while doing Ranni’s bidding… maybe someone who knows more lore could put this idea of mine to sleep?

The OG Astel really played it smart against Rick, it's just that there was nothing they could do.
He lost the wave attack, but received a summoning, he get a meteor attack at the beginning of the battle, but his Ai became worse. Wow, in the end I didn't even feel the difference, he just got a little stranger. I would look at the accelerated Astel, he design is cool, but the fight is easy, acceleration may help.
Elden beast vs Astel is just two cosmic beings duking it out.
We have to make a petition to from software to add Rick, the Soldier of God as a community meme boss in the tutorial area, but he only spawns after we burn the erdtree of after elden beast lmao
To place most casters out of range of their own spells was quite unlucky
I honestly want a Astel varient to be able to make the clones including the grab attack as well and a attack to make Astel turn himself into a meteor and when he throws many tiny rocks
I even had ideas to a varient of Astel as well when he more likely starts evolving futhrer
Not to mention some attacks when he be young

Elden Ring and Bloodborne are some of my all time favorites but sometimes Fromsoft logic gets tedious as hell: Lobster spit and Rennala's glintstone spells can travel to fucking Centauri 7 and back. Your spells shit themselves 8 feet out. Oh and be sure to talk to every NPC 5 times to advance quests because that's how conversations normally work too.
Gigachad Godfrey tanking the tail attacks and then proceeding to transform into Hourah Loux to put his bare hands on Astel was boss as hell... almost won too...
