  • Watch while I fly the Raw 420 during the making of an upcoming "Features, tips & tricks" official video for SAB. The flight is more geared towards getting clips for the video itself, and the wind was blowing very hard in my face, but I still had fun! Needless to say, had to clean the heli very well after being exposed to so much salt and sand. Head speeds are 2300, 2800 and 3200 (bank 1 through 3).

    I give this helicopter kit 5 out of 5 stars, It is really nice. It went together really well and everything was nice and easy to work on. I still can't believe it I am very pleased with everything, well maybe the tail fin could be slightly more visible it is a little skinny but not really a big deal. So keep in mind I only have a few test flights on it and just did a little some mild flight ... but everything feels great and i am amazed at you quiet it is. I heard someone else on you tube say that SAB knocked it out of the park with this one and I have to agree so thanks for this kit and everything.

    That direct drive would certainly help make it a smooth flying machine. Awesome flight Bert! Sure would like to see more flights from you. 👌

    Your smooth transitions and forceful control is like watching a Helicopter Ballet if there ever was such a thing! Not bad for an Old Man!

    How much flying time you get if you perform a normal flight without acrobatics?

    • @BertKammerer
      @BertKammerer  Před 2 lety +1

      Can go upwards of 8 minutes at lower head speeds doing basic flying, such as hovering, figure 8s, etc.

      @@wilfredprins9718 You might get more, it really depends on what you're doing. I am doing aerobatics, so haven't checked with just normal flying, slow forward flight, figure 8s and hovering. I am sure much longer.

    What 3D rc heli would you recommend for a beginner? (Medium sized)

    • @BertKammerer
      @BertKammerer  Před 2 lety +1

      Depends on how much of a beginner you are, this is a loaded question. Depends on budget, your desire to progress, etc., if you want something that will last you a very long time without issue, a well rounded mid size heli will grow with you, such as Raw 580 for example. If you want something smaller, this Raw 420 is the way to go. All high end helis are not cheap to repair after a crash, but they fly better than the value brands and hold their value longer as well as handle a lot more abuse.

      Great reply! I’ll make the investment and get value for my money. I’m a beginner but I don’t like hiccups from bargains. Convinced me to preorder my SAB RAW 420. I was thinking 580 but will start small and gear a bigger one for more options. Thanks!!!
