That blind nut/rivet, you're supposed to hold the bolt still and turn only the nut clockwise. I just got my kit alil bit ago, today ill be installing it.

Now this is a cool mod. Once you put a bed liner or a bed mat on the tailgate they get heavy.

Agreed although bed liner doesn't weigh that much lol. I have a tailgate assist strut on my Silverado and the biggest pro is not having to hold the tailgate the whole time as its opening. So when you're carrying something heavy and need to open your truck bed all you have to do is pop the handle and let it come to a gentle stop. I've never been able to find one for my 95 F150 till now.
I went to not only look at but to see how much it was. The price isn't to bad BUT they're sold out currently but I'll definitely be ordering one once they're back in stock.

I use two. Just because those tailgates are heavy and mine has the diamond plate cover. Cold vid man 🤙🏼
I was just wondering after watching the video if two would be better. Good to know I’ll probably have to get one at first then another later.
How did you do the passenger side? They say on the website it is for the driver side only.

These tailgates are really heavy. Might go with double struts
I think it works fine just with 1 it definitely catches it on the way down

I want a way to lock my tailgate. Had 1 stolen
i got a lock that works with the factory steel handle seems to hold up nice😊
