Good news from the next world was the album simple minds were working on at the Scottish recording studio when I was lucky to meet Jim on a Friday night at a car rental in Perth he is such a down to earth guy we spoke about being at the U2 gig and I told Jim my husband and I had been fans of his since the beginning of the minds. Look forward to seeing the band in March at the Ovo Glasgow.

This was always one of their best sounding albums, definitely has that Forsey touch that made those Billy Idol songs sound so great. Charlie's guitar work on this one is perhaps his best ever, he really let it fly. Remember being so knocked out by this one since Real Life seemed to just miss something even though there were some great songs in there. Maybe the Lipson production was too heavy, hard to pin down. Saw them in a small venue for this one which was just a part of the difficulty watching the downward trajectory of their notoriety despite the music being so good. Happened to a lot of good bands in the early 90's for a host of reasons. They need to issue this one on vinyl for sure.

This is their finest work by far! As a big fan of SIMPLE MINDS, you can take that to the bank. I’ve been in showbiz since I was in high school, so I know just what I’m talking about! I’m retired now from showbiz! Wow; I just love SIMPLE MINDS! They are super. Only a fool couldn’t tell the difference. SIMPLE MINDS, thank you for all of the wonderful music! And the great memories!

One of there best albums very underated.
Their best album 👍 Criminally underrated. Were poorly promoted by Virgin (their record company) at the time. U2 was the flavour of the month, so in turn the Minds got left behind. Even the artwork for this album was superb
I can name 5 better Simple Minds albums and all recorded between 1979-82. But that's just my opinion
It's one of their worst albums. I don't like any of the songs on there. Anything before 1988, Real Life, Big Music, 050505 waaaay better.

I really like Simple Minds but this album did not do it for me. Apart from Shes a River and Hypnotised i found the rest to be rather bland.
Give it time, it might grow on you. I have felt like that about certain albums, and then after a while, I find that they're the ones I really like.
