Thanks, Michael. We agree, it's not hard to fall in love with this beautiful place.
Incredible footage, superb skill in capturing some of my favourite parts of the Mournes. I`m blessed to live within 20 minutes drive of the mountains and the wonderful unspoilt coastline from Ardglass to Clough. The views from Minerstown and Murlough are amazing
So damn good. Got to visit me Irish heritage, the ancients never told me it was this grand. Many, many thanks Martin

Paul, glad you liked our video. Not quite Sarek but the Mournes are always lovely to visit. This video was over 18 months in the making and the final timelapses were shot last weekend during a snowy period.

Excellent work - as expected!
Thanks, Ains. We're pretty pleased with this one!!
Prue Splendor Martin...loved the rainbow shot from 2.11...Well done mate :)
Terry
Hi Terry, yes, the rainbow was kind of special and we had to hurriedly set up our camera atop the Mourne Wall to get that sequence, as we were just out to measure a summit not to do any photography, because the weather forecast was crap that day. But every cloud has a silver lining!!
Yes sometimes those bad weather days sure add intenserty to those broody shots, Fab
Incredible. Very well done guys.
Thanks
Loved it. Shared on my Mythical Ireland Facebook page. Thank you.
Glad you liked it and thanks for the share
This was our playground the Trassy Trekkers Walking Club Newcastle.!!!! Superb quality.!!!!

It's so fantastic 🤩 Love Mourne Mountains :)
Thanks the Mournes are are favourite hills for walking in Ireland
Stunning 👏🏻♥️
Thanks, we love the Mournes and we much enjoyed sharing our experiences through this video
Magic movie.
Thanks, Trev. Glad you enjoyed it.
Another wondrous and truly beautiful video, folks. The Mournes need to be on my list for sure. I live in Scotland and climb the amazing mountains here, but Ireland is up there as well in my opinion. But I am Irish, so maybe slightly biased! Thanks again. Subbed on FB as well.
Thanks for the kind comments. The Mournes are one of our favorite ranges in Ireland. Lots of different routes despite being compact. On the main routes you're unlikely to be alone but there are lots of other parts which are rarely visited. Martin and Sharron
Super video 👍
Thanks
Great video!
Thanks, Stephen. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Excellent video . very good editing . well done 👍
Thanks a lot, much appreciated. We very much enjoyed making this video even though a fox attacked one of our rucksacks whilst camping overnight in the hills!
@@EtherealLightPhotography never had that experience yet and hopefully I won't ha.great video
Stunning stuff! I can only imagine the effort that took. Hope to see you both in Dublin in Feb.
Thanks, Adrian. Yes, it took some effort for sure, but it was a highly enjoyable experience. Sadly we won't be at the Mountainviews annual bash in Dublin this February as we will be on a photography trip in Lofoten, Norway :(
Going to Norway will be some consolation for you I'm sure :) Couldn't get down to your recent talk as I couldn't get away - sorry I missed that.
We're looking forward to Lofoten and hoping the weather Gods will be on our side! Our talk went down very well and it was a pleasure to present to like minded people.
awesome video
Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video, have been trying making a few timelapses myself around Wicklow, can never get enough time at the weekends :)
Alan Currie Thanks for your comment. It's often hard to get a time lapse between the time of day, weather conditions and viewpoint. Often we might only get 2 or 3 done in a day. Night time lapse needs many hours in the cold and we often do these in conjunction with camping so that I can retire to the warmth whilst the camera is doing its bit. Good luck with your shooting ands maybe you might load some results to CZcams
Hi Martin, do you mind me asking what did you use to create timelapse. Incredible, beautiful imagery!!
Jason, timelapse requires taking several still photos over 10-15 minutes with 2-3 seconds (or greater at night) interval between each photo. My recent timelapses were taken using a full frame Pentax dSLR, although for the the older ones I used an APS-C dSLR. The photos were combined into a video using commercial software. Martin
Where have you filmed this from, please?
Obviously various locations, but if you could name them that'd be lovely of you ;)
Places that feature in the film are: Newcastle Bay from Slieve Commedagh; the summits of Doan, Ben Crom and Slieve Bearnagh from Slieve Binnian; Lough Shannagh; the Mournes from the dunes of Murrough Nature Reserve; Newcastle Beach; Slieve Binnian; Tollymore Forest; Bloody Bridge; tors on Slieve Commedagh; Slieve Bearnagh from near Diamond Rocks; view up the Silent Valley; Spelga Dam; Slieve Binnian from Slieve Muck; Slieve Donnard and Slieve Commedagh from Slieve Muck; Hen Mountain summit; Foley's Bridge Tollymore Forest; Slieve Martin and Carlingford Lough; Slieve Binnian and Wee Binnian; Bridge over Shankey's River; view of Slievemoughanmore and Pigeon Rock Mountain from Pierce's Castle; Mourne Mountains from Minerstown; Narrow Water near Warrenpoint.
Hey Martin, gorgeous video! How did you do the shot at 0:40 where the shot pans back?
Keep up the good work!
Killian Connolly Thanks for kind comment. The lake at 0:40 is Lough Shannagh in the SW part of the mournes which is accessible via a track from the Leitrim road. We camped here overnight. It was windy in the night but the morning was calm and we got the shot. Unfortunately the peace was soon disturbed by some unauthorised quad bikers who drove along the shore and at times through the lake
Amazing work, really impressed. Thanks for getting back to me with that info also. Technically though, how do you timelapse like that shot where the camera pans back? Do you adjust the zoom periodically?
Killian Connolly Killian, some of the pulls are done in post processing software but others (such as the bluebells in Tollymore) were done with the camera on a slider. Regards, Martin
Ill have to give a few of these a try, great work and thanks again.
