Your videos on Dune Spice Wars are the best ones, I think. Your commentary is so strong at helping me understand what you’re doing at any given time that I sometimes listen to them like a podcast.
I love how different each new house is. They could have just done a copy and paste of Harks or Atr with a different colour, but instead they really play a lot differently.
That second match was great! I definitely respect just jumping in fresh on the first one. There's a lot to this game for sure.
The board game this was inspired from has the guild and the Bene Geserit as factions so thats always an option the Tleilaxu are also an option as well they are like the opposite of Vernius
but the bene geserit is in every house; they are more interested in selective breeding.

Wow its interesting in that second game that he could have harvested from that first spice without owning the village and that would have solved a lot of his initial tether planning. This faction is definitely going to take some time to get used to

House Vernius really suffers from having no cheap ranged and aoe units, you need to bank on surviving until you get the drone critical mass.
Fremen/Smugglers/Harkonnen is the nightmare blunt rotation for you as Vernius

It’s actually nearly impossible to nuke house ver because you can port out before nuke hits. Just keep it on cool down late game for that scenario. That house def a very advanced house. Lots of little things you have to constantly keep tabs on.
Long live the fighters! Hopfully they will add additonal multiplayer functionality. Would be awesome to see you cast a tournament from beginning to end.

This was a fun watch! I suck at this game.
Vernius' ability to skip ahead in disciplines/tech, combined with truce tech sharing allows an ally to leap ahead too.
If they join the water sellers union, their 50% reduction to water in out of network districts is removed also. Along with the ability to leap ahead to wind farms.
The patents are better vs people who need certain techs to remain regularly pricedfor their build order. One 500 solari addition could throw off the timing of an enemy.
Build two districts out, then encircle the one out districts with the neural wall. Keeping the neural wall on the outside, along with railgun drones.
Vernius feels like a turtle civ a bit.
I like using Suboids and Railguns to clear out villages in the early game. Suboids are the worst unit in the game, but they are free. Using Meks to clear out villages is suboptimal, because healing them costs money. Obviously, when you are fighting other players you transition to a Mek army.

Faction I want ; Tleilaxu. More devious than the Baron.
One thing with this faction I feel is a bit off is the patents, they cost so much and it requires 2 to get it just to break even on what you paid. Obfuscate though is powerful :)
Harkonnen literally outplayed Ixians by using AI to win. Truly infamous House.
fyi you should say other factions bought a license from you. You are the patent holder.

Yea spice fields are generally better to leave neutral and then place a silo in an adjacent territory. No harm in abandonning villages if you find a better way to connect your cities
No neutral is a bad idea, too easy to lose them, no need to have a node on them tho.
@@chronic6428 yes you only buy the territory to secure it when it's on a contested border. Villages without neural nodes have 50% resource penalties so you only buy them for strategic reasons.

It seems weak watching it. Obviously you want to lead with research since that patent ability gets you gold but putting behind your military means you can't take key points in the map early. Not to mention most of your military seem even weaker than smugglers in the beginning who usually rely on a sniper to do all their damage early. If it wasn't for supply I'm sure you would have lost that first fight to him eventhough you were fighting in your network which is supposed to give you decent defensive buffs.
Though their military snowball quite fast, considering all tethered units have 0.5% attack speed per knowledge. I usually try to reach at least 60 knowledge, so it’s quite powerful
Patents don't even get you gold unless everyone else then buy it. 1000 to patent, 2 players to only break even. It's more about to make them waste money for tech than gold income for Vernus
If you really wanna make everyone *despise* you, obfuscate the tech that unlocks the crafts workshop. 😅
Maybe don't do this if Ecaz is around.
