- If your macbook or macbook pro trackpad is not clicking or acting funny or you have a cracked trackpad, this video is a must. Here I explain how a macbook trackpad works, how to fix it or replace it, how to clean it and some very important must know tips.
Quick tip: In many instances a non clicking trackpad can be fixed by tightening or loosening the track pad tensioner screw.
Liquid can get into the space around the trackpad and dry up causing a false signal to be sent to the Operating System. Cleaning the track pad will fix the issue.
This is a super easy fix, Costing you a grand total of $0!
Here are all the items you need:
Toothbrush or a washcloth
Y-0 screwdriver
15 min of free time

I replaced my trackpad and upon bootup the cursor is in the top left corner and I can click the trackpad and it registers the click but I CAN NOT move the cursor. Any ideas?

Hi! I have mbp 15 2008. My battery was swollen and I changed it to the new one. Now the trackpad is not sensitive in its center, but it's ok on sides. Can I fix it this way, or together with cable? Thank you!

Woah! Cleaned it with toothbrush, there was pretty much dust under the edges. Now it works like new! Thank you guys!

Mine clicks on the left and right side, but on the left side even though I can hear and feel the click, my macbook won't respond to it. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? I already replaced my HDD with an SSD and upgraded ram, so I don't mind opening it up.
