People, just to remember: headrush has 2 speakers, 1 12' woofer and 1 tweeter, so probably it's the main cause of the nasal sound, the mic is pointing just to one speaker
You can't close mic a cabinet with a woofer and tweeter and get an accurate representation of what it sounds like in the room. At that distance, moving the mic just an inch or two left or right drastically changes the EQ. I think the mics need to be at least a few feet away to make any meaningful comparisons at all.
yes, it also occurred to me that it sounds different from what I hear in the room... I'll try to make another video where I put the microphone in the middle of the room and both speakers are at least 2 meters away from it.. to make it sound more real..

I currently have a laney LFR and I am very happy with it. Wooden box, good frequencies, can connect the output to the mix as well and it lights up nicely :)

Seems to me the headrush has a much flatter response with way less of that “boxy” “honky” mid range. All the clips with it sounded better to me especially the overdriven stuff.

Wow the Headrush sounds absolutely horrible after hearing the Laney. Laney sounds like a guitar amp. The Headrush sounds like a cheap boom box.

Your entitled to your opinion, but the Headrush was bassy/boomy and just muddy. The Laney was bright which I like in that response.
