Arsenal players spread Christmas cheer across north London

- Last week our men’s and women’s first-team players and club staff visited our communities across north London as we furthered our connection and relationships with those in the local area.
Players including Gabriel Jesus, Laura Wienroither, Ben White, Kim Little, Declan Rice and Teyah Goldie took time to visit children’s wards at the Homerton, Whittington, Barnet and Royal Free hospitals - spending time and speaking with young patients and their families, spreading smiles and sharing laughs.
Members of the local community were also served up a surprise at the Arsenal Hub as men’s players Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Oleksandr Zinchenko, William Saliba, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson and Takehiro Tomiyasu paid a visit to watch, take part in, and chat to those participating in a number of local community programmes, including Arsenal Bowls, North London United’s Down Syndrome football session and Primary Stars.

I was born in Whittington Hospital, makes me happy seeing the players recognising that this time of year is hard for some people. The smiles on those faces, are priceless.

Other Clubs do social work as well but there is something special and moving in the way Arsenal do it.

I love my club and as a die-hard African fan my wish is for the best present our team could give every fan this season is to win the EPL come May! There are millions of sick, the poor and vulnerable fans around the globe whose hearts would be lighted with tears of joys seeing this team hold the EPL trophy aloft, please Arsenal send this message to the players so they understand that winning will contributes to the happiness and all-round wellbeing to the Millions, please remember every time you are on the pitch to give your best cause it means a lot to every fan and their families, thank you.
When Ø was at Real Sociedad, they did similar kind community related work, with visit to a children's hospital etc., and I remember back then how I thought "you would never see Real Madrid do that kind of thing". So watching a big club like Arsenal actually do such community stuff, similar to a more local club like Real Sociedad, is good to see 👍.

When I was a very small boy and could play football, one day my father came home with 2 home kits jersey of Manchester united, one for me and another for himself and tried recruiting me to his club. But I didn't, because I was already an arsenal fan at that young age. I disappointed him alot since his plan was that we walk together along the street going to watch man-u matches at the cafe. I'm an arsenal fan, follow each game, but I've never bought a full kit for myself 😢. When I leave Africa and visit north London, I'll buy arsenal jerseys and bring them to my kid and try recruit him 😂😂❤
