@PUBGM FATÌH what are you even saying bro, cummins is a separate company and has been for a long time. Cummins is its own brand of diesel engine manufacturing and is only affiliated with dodge by being used in their trucks
MY opinion is that Ford makes the best and longest lasting diesel trucks. I've had a ford diesel for 23 years and nothing but straight peanut farm work in north Florida is what its taken, and it still runs to this day. but i love me a cummins engine, so i think this is a perfect combination. well done man.
If I had the time and money Id do it in a heartbeat. I've owned two 97 7.3's. A f250 rclb xl and my baby, a f350 cclb xlt. Nicest, most durable trucks around IMO. Unfortunately a lady pulled out in front of me in my white xlt at 230k and it was totaled. I just recently got my first cummins, an 02 HO 24v. If I coulda had this motor in my white ford I would have been the happiest man on earth. perfect combination.
It's a block heater. You plug it into your household electrical outlet, and it will greatly help a diesel engine start, as they can prove to be somewhat difficult the colder it is.
I just love it when people say "Cummings" instead of Cummins-last I checked there was no "G" in Cummins! I imagine old Clessie Cummins (founder of Cummins diesel) has had nonstop vertigo from spinning around in his grave all these years.
As he fired that truck up, I bet he was thinking in his head. "I HAVE THE POWER>>>>>" Awesome vid man. It looked like it was time for the neighbors to wake up anyway. And guess who they will come to first when they need a tow or heavy hauling. I bet they come right to you.
Not anymore. However for a short amount of time. In the mid 60's when ford made the FIRST non commercial diesel truck then they switched years down the line to the New Holland. In the 90's ford once again used Cummins engines in their trucks.
i agree he did an awesome job and built the truck he wanted to build props for that. But most cummins swaps start with a powerstroke to much would go into that build if it was a gasser. fuel lines, electronics, fuel tanks, fuel system etc etc.
@Dalton Swopes... Alot of Cummins swaps start with Powerstrokes because the people that own the trucks are already diesel guys. You can use the same tank and lines as long as theyre flushed out. Electronics usually arent a problem with people generally swapping 12 valve engines as opposed to 24's or CommonRails. Ready to go wiring harnesses make things alot easier too. Im a lifelong Ford guy but anything with a Cummins is ok in my book
@nvfd103 they used to. my buddy has a 94 chevy 1500 with the 6.5L diesel. i believe they put them in up to 97? maybe 98? there are also speculations that gm will start putting a new 4.5L duramax diesel in half tons soon.
Cummins is its own entity, they make engines. Ford uses them in their F650s and F750s, Dodge uses them in their heavy duty trucks. Its on their websites.
because he swapped his heavy POWERSTROKE 7.3 for this 5.9l cummins inline six. Some people swap motors,, it creates a unique vehicle and seperates the people who know things, and the people who dont.
your truck is sick man, my favorite generation of fords, have you got any other pics of the rest of the truck by any chance? i wanna see this hog in its entirety!
i wonder how a V8 from Cummins would perform? i mean that I6 does an amzing job, now add two cylinders of the same bore and configure them in a V and add a second turbo? haha a man can dream
wow so many people on youtube that don't know a thing about a damn diesel. It was obviously a powerstroke at one time then the owner got tired of the powerstroke motor and took a cummins and decided to destroke his truck and this is what you get in the end.
they are old and mean and stubborn, that is why they are a good motor. people that haven't dealt with cummins in equipment and crap have no clue what they are talking about.
@73ford250 Ford did own a decent percentage stock in cummins for a while. They never had a majority ownership, and did not buy it for anything but a business venture. They bought it and sold it simply to turn a profit. They sold that stock a long time ago...its probably been 10 years since ford had that stock.
Cummins in NOT owned by Ford, Cummins is located in Columbus, Indiana, where I worked for many years. Cummins is also NOT owned by Dodge, they are an they simply have a contract with the. Cummins is a independent fortune 500 company.
You mean "get YOUR facts straight...." Just because it smokes doesn't mean it fails emissions. The cummins in both my ford and my peterbilt smoke just as much and I always pass.
Wow that turbo made it sound like a locomotive being started. Awesome!!
id like to be woken up by this
Same here
Same
will a 7.3 powerstroke make do?
Deadass
I would run to the window so dam fast if I heard this lol
Then you go back inside and wait for it to warm up pissing off the neighbors even more 😂
There's a Cummins plant just down the road from where I live. I feel honored that Cummins would chose my area for manufacturing!
best sounding cold start of all time!!
@PUBGM FATÌH thats a ford. Read the title.
@PUBGM FATÌH dodge doesnt make cummins…
@PUBGM FATÌH what are you even saying bro, cummins is a separate company and has been for a long time. Cummins is its own brand of diesel engine manufacturing and is only affiliated with dodge by being used in their trucks
That truck makes that Cummins look good
Yeah it don’t

Your neighbors must love you for owing this truck

This is one of the better potato cameras I have seen.
cummins engines sound so fllipping cool man!
Which is exactly why pierce fire trucks come with available cummins engines
nice truck man. love hearin them diesels when they fire up in the cold.
Sweet truck!!! Love it!!!
Best of both ford truck with cummins power love it sounds sick love it
I just love the whistle part
F350 with a cummins? best truck ever
Ah.. Best wake up call in the world, well alarm clock. If that went off every morning at 5 that would be awesome.
mmmmm, nothing like the sound of a Cummins in the morning.
Don’t worry the neighbors needed woken up
nice truck.sounds awesome!
Awesome exhaustpipe view and sound 🚙💨😈
I just love it when people say "Cummings" instead of Cummins-last I checked there was no "G" in Cummins! I imagine old Clessie Cummins (founder of Cummins diesel) has had nonstop vertigo from spinning around in his grave all these years.

LOL that sounds bad ass! sick video!
Cool Cummins swap, the best for a Ford truck.
Damm I wish I could do that shit at 3 am in my neighborhood. Sounds bad ass
This thing sound sick as hell
Sounded like a cold locomotive start up lol, bad ass :)
id love to wake up at this sound :)
i would love to wake up to that every morning.
Not anymore. However for a short amount of time. In the mid 60's when ford made the FIRST non commercial diesel truck then they switched years down the line to the New Holland. In the 90's ford once again used Cummins engines in their trucks.
Sounds so nice
cranking instantly then revving cold, thats cool
That is beautiful :)
awesome sound the best i heard so far
that sounds so raw!
damn that turbo sounds good
Nice truck man.
i love the turbo whistle XD
i agree he did an awesome job and built the truck he wanted to build props for that. But most cummins swaps start with a powerstroke to much would go into that build if it was a gasser. fuel lines, electronics, fuel tanks, fuel system etc etc.
She's a loud one! i like it :)
I wish my truck sounded this good!!
oh damn !! that just made my day thanks,, some day for me...
Somewhere in the world that truck just killed a Prius
@Dalton Swopes... Alot of Cummins swaps start with Powerstrokes because the people that own the trucks are already diesel guys. You can use the same tank and lines as long as theyre flushed out. thats what a ford should have it in all the time
Sounds sick
Coulda waited till all 6 were firing but you do you my guy.
sounds like my john deere on a cold day
@89Carfreak I love cummins engines. They have that "18 wheeler mentality" to them, with the deep rumble and high torque.
Little grumpy when not on the heater. Don't need to rev it if the thing is in good shape. Just crank it over, and let it idle.
did you give any time for the plug to warm up?
i bet the neighbors love you
is that a 7.3 and if so, is that a straight pipe split inti stacks? because it sounds bad ass
@nvfd103 they used to. my buddy has a 94 chevy 1500 with the 6.5L diesel. i believe they put them in up to 97? maybe 98? there are also speculations that gm will start putting a new 4.5L duramax diesel in half tons soon.
nice truck :)
You are miss informed. At one point Ford did have stock in Cummins.
Sounds like Starting up a diesel train !!!!
PERFECT !!! ;)
Cummins is their own company. no one owns manufactures of these engines but cummins .
That comment made my day.
Cummins is its own entity, they make engines. Ford uses them in their F650s and F750s, Dodge uses them in their heavy duty trucks. Its on their websites.
sounded like a power stroke start up with a cummins idle. ahah
i want this as my alarm clock
because he swapped his heavy POWERSTROKE 7.3 for this 5.9l cummins inline six. Some people swap motors,, it creates a unique vehicle and seperates the people who know things, and the people who dont.
What year is the truck? im looking to do the same kinda swap
Nice Fummins! haha
I work for the brooks road branch in memphis. I back up your statement.
Is that a 6BT?
Well all I can say is this would be my alarm clock. And I really don't need to get those facts right good sir.
awesome, but what u say about detroit diesel?
There not their own brand, cummins motors are made by caterpillar, but your right, putting them in anything is fine,
your truck is sick man, my favorite generation of fords, have you got any other pics of the rest of the truck by any chance? i wanna see this hog in its entirety!
Damnit boy!!! How big of turbo are you running on that 12 valve?
that has got to be good for the O-ZONE
thats awesome man, drop the flowerjoke and replace it with king cummins
i wonder how a V8 from Cummins would perform? i mean that I6 does an amzing job, now add two cylinders of the same bore and configure them in a V and add a second turbo? haha a man can dream
id prefer this over a regular alarm clock
Wish my 6.9 would sound like that.
Do you live in wauconda il? i swear ive seen that truck before
Thats awesome, I'm looking at doing that to my 88 f150. What transmission did u use, and do u use your stock speedo and tach?
are those 5" stacks?
Yea 30 is cold but below 10 is what I personally consider a cold start. I didn't know Cummins switched to an indirect injection system.
this video makes me want to put a 12 valve in my truck so bad how much did the swap cost you?
wow so many people on youtube that don't know a thing about a damn diesel. It was obviously a powerstroke at one time then the owner got tired of the powerstroke motor and took a cummins and decided to destroke his truck and this is what you get in the end.
lol, love how diesels sound when they are started in the cold... just really angry machines
theres a good reason why i wanna put stacks on my truck!!!!
they are old and mean and stubborn, that is why they are a good motor. people that haven't dealt with cummins in equipment and crap have no clue what they are talking about.
Yes, many Ford's have Cummins engines, yes, from the factory
does that have a roll pan on that?
@73ford250 Ford did own a decent percentage stock in cummins for a while. They never had a majority ownership, and did not buy it for anything but a business venture. They bought it and sold it simply to turn a profit. They sold that stock a long time ago...its probably been 10 years since ford had that stock.
Turbo warming up?
Love it

@Fireheart528 not a clue. but id guess the engine would fit pretty easily in that one at least it probably depends on how much you can do yourself.
