- Jimmy Smith puts down a blazing fast pass at Bandimere Speedway's 1/4 mile track. This truck was running in the street modified 4WD class. Like the announcer says, "Are you kidding me??"

I'm pretty sure that the 15 seconds he spent flooring it and sitting still was just to wind up the jet engine sized turbo that things has. You can hear it winding up faster and faster the whole time.
Uh..... Duh. You have to build boost jackass
@@fatdaddygaming9102 ur a little late as always bud lol
its a large compound turbo setup. it takes a while for it to wake up from a nap and drink its coffee
9.81 @ 138mph wow!!! The crowd didnt seem impressed at all though, either they hate trucks or they are used to seeing 6 second dragsters haha!
hey bro, can you drive that shit down my block i got a mosquito problem.
0:37 guy on scooter thinking "Yeh lets race! " then "Okay maybe not"
I love how he has to rev for 25(!) seconds to get that turbo up to pressure!
I'll make sure I'll blacken the sky with a Cummins VTB903 when I finally get my CDL....all straight pipes no filters
Abbreviated Richard
+Daniel Alberty You going to do those gay ass hockey sticks that everyone laughs at?
I am a simple man. I see a nice diesel that could piss off environmentalists, I press like.
Mother Earth felt that one :)
Gotta love it when your 4x4 fishtails for 200 feet on dry asphalt
That coal fired steam engine can move ..........WOW
That was incredible! And no trail of broken parts either!
It's not chevy

"Fun is not something one considers when creating the most powerful diesel engines in the world ... , but this does put a smile in my face."
That's at a mile+ above sea level too. Very impressive. How does that 4wd handle the initial torque!?
stock
I love how it squats down seconds before it launches!
Meh, wasted energy.
LeCharles07 Sure.
Man, that turbo. That's huge!
Damn.how the hell did he keep that thing strait.
He was skating around that's for sure!!
Salvatore Hayes Steering wheel i think.??
They run them trucks in 4x4 drive it was just burning the front tires also until it gripped and was gone lol my dad has a 2012 Dodge cummins power wagon tuned up with huge turbos if he's going to race he puts it in 4x4 but you have to buy after market differentials and axles if you don't get top of the line front end components the stock peices can't take that much torque his runs mid 10s what a ride love the Dodge cummins engine
That probably added half a second or more on the run
Thanks guys, I had no idea a diesel could be built like that. I've owned several Camaros and Firebirds that could get up and go but I guess the next time a diesel pulls up next to me at the light I'll have to give him a little more respect. That is one badass truck!
Thanks Thornton, because of you I learned something today!
Love watching it go from stoic to rich as a pig. Well done!
4:15 to the coal mine now leaving.
That's a diesel's torque for ya. There's a reason trains are diesel and not gas.
trains are electric.
Nsa Van Powered by a diesel generator. Otherwise, why would they have a 1800 gallon diesel fuel tank?
You're not going to get off that easy my friend, LOL.... You related diesel engine torque with trains. Since the diesel does not connected directly to the drive axels the torque from the diesel doesn't matter. The only reason trains use diesel generators they are more efficent and have a longer lifespan than gas and steem powered engines. And yes, there are gas powered locomotives, matter of fact, they were around before the diesel.
Nsa Van If the torque from the diesel doesn't matter, then why do they use 3,000 HP diesel engines to drive the generators?
TheRedbikemaster What Ass Van is saying is the diesel engines on a train power the generators which are not what is causing the train to move, that's obviously the electric engines... powered by said generators.. Though I believe electric motors have higher (and instant) torque compared to petrol/diesel engines though this is like comparing apples to oranges...... Here in England most trains are powered by diesel engines.
I love how that took off!
thank you Rudolph .
diesel are awesome now & always have been !
If its blowing smoke like that, its not burning all of the diesel fuel.
More fuel means more compression - more compression means more torque
Tommy1198S WOW !
yeah, diesels run differently than petrol
SHIT I BLINKED
where'd it go?
Dat air to fuel ratio though
and this is why I love diesel trucks, they dont pollute near as much as a gasser but you get all the performance and then some!
Why are there so many environmentalists commenting on this shit. Honestly we wouldn't be able to fart without an environmentalist trying to say "thats bad for the environment" lol. Honestly gas and diesel have been running for YEARS and I honestly don't see it stopping for atleast 10 or 20 years. Take a chill pill.

It's here. The treehuggers are complaining about COW farts.
YES I am NOT making this up.

Personally, I love the Farm Truck (I say proudly wearing the t-shirt). In 2011 Farm Truck ran in the 11's in the 1/4. I would love to see how it would run at Bandimere. I'm afraid speed wise, its a bit slower, but cool factor way out in front.
Thanks Joe. I worked for a diesel manufacturing company, creating ads and art, but still never soaked up all the info! lol
After stoking up the furnace a bit, that damd thing flew !
I hate it when people are like "Thanks for polluting the world assholes." It's okay, its really funny whenever there Prius gets fucking demolished by 3/4 ton anyways.
There's a prius in my town that runs 11s
Shade Graffiti I find it hard to believe. A prius??
Charles Johnson The land around where the batteries are made is so polluted that NASA uses it as a test site for their moon rovers lol
That is the first 9 second truck I have seen on youtube. Do we know if this is still in Colorado?
This truck was from originally from Kentucky I believe. I think it was sold to another party over the last few years.
daveygz Darn. It is weird, all the truck drag races I have found on here take place at Bandimere. Yet I haven't seen these trucks around town.
+YourAverageNerd777 - I see them all the time in Wheat Ridge but a ton of racers come from out of town.
+YourAverageNerd777 There is a 70s dodge ice cream van putting down faster times and the guy probably uses it for work everyday.
@ W806D - There are some sources for getting a higher revving cam for your Cummins, but those things aren't cheap that's for sure. :) Thanks for checking out the video and posting!
Good lord, that truck is steaming more than titanic!
Wee see this on 2021
damn....Cummins= bad ass in-line six...
powerstroke is better

Towing up and down the highway on a regular basis I see more ram's. I'll have to disagree.
Take that you tree huggers! LOL. 'Merica! Fuck yeah!
Smoke's so thicc it casts a shadow
I hear Cow farts pollute the air as well....one fast Diesel Pickup dont make a shit difference on the atmosphere. Think of the 100's of thousands of semi trucks on the road. Thats one BAD ASS Pick-up right there!
did it pass its smog test?
yes he passed it. is no vw :D
+Flexbert1993 BWAHAHAHA
+Flexbert1993 VW isn't bad as a russian vehicle. Black smoke everywhere
Yes, he passed it......drove right past it in 9.81 seconds.
@greenerthemeaner Hahahaha!! Lmao!!!!!
The truck literally sounded like a jet ready for takeoff. That thing is a beast!!
Gotta love the ole 12 valve Cummings.
There is a reason why most vehicles are diesel.... because its more economical.
1: Soot turns in to biodegradable soil (If it lands in the right place of course)
2: Higher torque=Less revs=Less fuel usage
3: All super cars are petrol because that can burn at a higher RPM... but that uses alot of fuel
so please... stop bitching
+Dark Star I still like higher revs.
higher rpm = more potential for horse power.
as long as the engine can stay together and keep up airflow wise you'll get more power.
Boi it's polluting the planet
if soot lands in the right place? Lordy, you are a dumbass
Right You caught me. I actually had the string tied to the sun and of course you always want to place the "fake" announcer over the engine effects because that makes it "cooler" lol
That is quick and fast.. sick
All I could think is " CHOOO-CHOOOO!" while it was going down the track. Very impressive!!!
The most environmentally friendly cars on the planet ladies and gentlemen.
***** It's just a joke dude, chill out.
turbo diseasal, so dirty and inefficient, its bad for the spectators. the more dirtier the smoke the more hp though...
I know, I was makin' a joke.
i agree with you, we need to make a stand and push for tighter emissions regulations at races
Al Gore cried when he watched this video.lol
Lol
Actually, he's seeing $-$. Just another reason for him and his buddies to capitalize on the Carbon Tax.
No he didn't.
He didn't.. after his global warming speeches Al Gore and his buddies jump in a stretch h2 hummer lol @ global warming. Diesel is better for the environment then any gas engine and electric cars and there batteries are the worst
He also just dropped off a load of chickens at the farmers market around the corner 10 minutes before this. In the winter he hooks up a plow for his snow removal business.
Damn. That diesel is F*cking Fast.
still better than a v-tec
lol, only morons compare changing valve timing to a 100psi diesel
Now I know were global warming comes from, 9 second diesel trucks. LOL.
+julio lausell Diesel burns cleaner then gas just so you know.
redneck4life887 So clean that I can see the unburned fuel coming out of the exhaust.
+julio lausell
Diesel is the Most fuel efficient combustion engine. Well tuned the exhaust is soot made of carbon. Almost everything is made of carbon and water which are the two main byproducts. Why? Diesel fuel has a much higher burning temperature. The temperature and high compression compression alone of the fuel/gas mixture causes it to self ignite making sure most if not all the fuel is burnt.
Gas is Not as fuel efficient / economically friendly as diesel. Why? Petrol has a much lower combustion temperature. Requiring a lower compression pressure. This also means that its much harder to control the detonation of the petrol. Hence why they use spark plugs. The spark plugs give the slightly more unstable fuel a way to combust when we want it to. Unfortunately since the optimal pressure / heat for combustion isn't reached there is much more toxins released from the engine since not all of the fuel is burnt. SURE ROLLING COAT IS THAT GREAT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. Potentially diesel is a much more economical power plant / fuel.
redneck4life887 There is just one thing I can say, never erase your comment. Since you are so sure of what you are talking about. I would like for many to see how smart you are.
Did he just burn rubber the whole way down ???? Lol a beast
He is totally trying to ruffle your feathers bro! Let him have it!
am I supposed to be impressed by this?
You commented. You tell us.
I'm impressed, and a little miffed. I own a supercharged V8 s10 (street only) and I don't think it can run like that.
Radionut R What do you have that can beat that....... That's what I thought
kyle turnwald wee i do. have a 69 mustang that turns out 750rwh I think that'll be the diesel truck anytime
Ha try an industrial injection built Cummins. Smoke the shit out of your tiny mustang
Volcano's on this planet emit more contaminants into our air in one day than we will with all of our fossil fueled cars and trucks in a lifetime! Scientific fact always wins!
9 sec streetable turbo diesels are friggin awesome!!!
we can't control volcanos dumbass
11's is Lamborghini territory.
God damn, them some crazy pullin' trucks.
I like it. Great video.
Friends It' true that I dont know much about cars... But what I might know about is this black smoke going out of the exaust.. I believe that if all cars are as you pretend they are so we dont need to worry anymore about the global warming and carbon dioxide emissions.. I am a big fan of mechanical sports but unfortunately harming the nature with the emissions is what I dont like... Peace..
Your car you drive every day emits more harmful crap to the atmosphere than this truck. That black smoke is soot. It just floats back to the ground after a bit.
ignorance. Your prius you drive is more toxic to our environment than the shyt coming out of your mouth.
boraboy4ever Sick guy...
Dany Tannous What makes him a sick guy? He is right, all hybrids are worse for the environment then anything else on the road.
What makes him a sick guy is the way he is talking to me, not more... Maybe he is right... But his way of speaking is sick...
powerful diesel engine = pollution
who cares
maybe not you but many people still care, so fuck you
Says who? Runs on McDonald's trash and exhaust falls to the ground not up in the atmosphere
no sorry i own lancer evo, but thank you for explaining
okay sorry master T_T
Impressive ! It takes alot of BOOST to get these type of results. Well done !
Throwback :) 🇲🇽🇺🇸
sounds like a freaking jet thats one bad ass truck
If I saw that exhaust from outside the raceway and not the truck I'd have guessed they were racing locomotives.
I heard it once, liked the way it sounded. I think more people should know about it.
I love Bandimere its claimed many parts for me over the years
Dom:U owe me a 10 second car.
Brian: I gotchu fam.
Very large turbo on it for sure; makes that jet sound
when the man on the little scooter pulled up, i thought HE was going to race the truck lol
That Cummins was saving a big load ;)
nice truck especially love the barney the dinosaur paint job on it
Now, THAT'S a great run! :-)
It's soot from running it rich. It's all burnt but it isn't all burnt quite properly. The black stuff is pretty much pure carbon. It floats around for a bit, settles, and makes for richer soil.
_I owe you a ten second car..._
Man, I'm not a truck guy by an means but mad respect to those diesel trucks. They can be fucking fast.
It was at Diesels on the Mountain @ Bandimere Speedway. This event doesn't draw the same crowd as The mile High nationals or pinks that's for sure.
Jeeeeezus!! that thing is a monster!
Pretty impressive

@ 0:20 onwards, it sounds like the cars from Rollcage Stage 2 or the intro movie right at the beginning. For those game illiterate peeps, it's an old PS1 game that I used to love and would still play today.
Well written. Thanks for checking out and commenting!
Um, no. The exhaust is used to spin the turbo. Which spins another fan to force more air into the combustion chamber. The more air and fuel in causes a bigger bang gaining horsepower and torque. Same a a super charger but just uses a different method to force the air in. It works well on a gasoline engine too.
I feel like i cant get any air after watching that .
Impressive!
There's a lifted Dodge dually 4x4, running a twin turbo setup, that frequents the Tulsa Speedway that outruns just about every street car that pulls up beside it. I'm not much of a Dodge fan, but it's a pretty bad-ass truck.
Hahahahaha the guy on the scooters like "alright i got this"
Dat diesel trail
btw absolutely insane
Maybe the owner is this should not let anyone post their opinions.
Too bad the people that comment don't have anything good to say.
It's a very fast race car that burns(maybe) fossil fuel.
Turbos are the way of the future.he has proved it.
Thanks for the video.
Fun fact, diesels are CLEANER than most people think, the black soot generally falls to the ground. Less NOx, less CO. Only reason people think they're nasty is because of the black smoke commonly seen from a diesel. But that stuff gets soaked into the soil, not taken into the sky.
Plus they get better mileage than almost anything out there.
It wasn't the turbo, it was the flames
Near clean exhaust too, nice
Aaaah ... BRILIANT ...!!!!
it seems to be doing just fine
That is AWESOME
not to mention with that year, there are not legal restrictions on emissions and what you can do to the motor or drivetrane, so, you could make it run as dirty as you want and make up for the extra weight with more power.
DEAAAAM That Bad Boy MOVES.....
Some of you guys are really confused about how a turbo works. The exhaust does not get "reused" in any way, shape, or form. All it does is spin a turbine that is connected to a compressor that forces air (clean outside air) into the intake.
EPA Approved! keep runnin that bitch it's cold here in the midwest!
