    'GAIT ANALYSIS' HAS ALWAYS BEEN A TOPIC WITH DIFFICULTIES TO UNDERSTAND CONCEPT AND ANALYSES THROUGH OBSERVATION.
    SO, HERE ARE 2 SIMPLE STEPS BY WHICH YOU CAN LEARN ANY PHASE OF GAIT CYCLE AND INTERPRET YOURSELF ANY PHASE OF THE WHOLE CYCLE.
    MOTION ANALYSIS OF HUMAN GAIT CYCLE IS THE SPECIAL ABILITY WHICH A PHYSIOTHERAPIST HAS AND THEREFORE A TITLE 'MOVEMENT SCIENTIST' IS WIDELY USED FOR A PHYSICAL THERAPIST IN FIELDS OF SPORTS MEDICINE AS WELL AS CLINICAL.
    THE ABOVE VIDEO WILL ENABLE A THERAPIST TO MASTER AND POLISH HIS/HER SKILLS AND OBSERVATION IN HIS/HER CLINICAL PRACTISE AS WELL AS ACADEMICS.
    IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES REGARDING THE TOPIC, POST IT IN COMMENTS (MEMBERS-PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN) AS MENTIONED IN OUR MEMBERSHIP PERKS. SOON WE ARE GOING TO ORGANIZE A LIVE CHAT SESSION FOR MEMBERS-ONLY, WHERE YOU CAN MEET AND ASK DR.ABHISHEK ABOUT ALL YOUR NOTED QUESTIONS AND QUERIES.

    I am unable to understand knee movements (for ex when to say knee is against gravity or towards gravity..)

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  Před 2 lety +2

      When the knee flexes in standing position ( eg. During stand to sit, during heel strike to foot flat etc), the movement is towards gravity and is needed to be controlled by eccentric quadriceps activity.

    Hello sir
    When we are standing, LOG passes anterior to knee joint. From this position, when we do a little squat or a mini squat position, what will be the muscle contraction: eccentric, concentric or isometric?

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  Před 3 lety +1

      Going down to mini squat would require controlled knee flexion Movement which will be produced by eccentric contraction of quadriceps.
      Staying or holding the position would require isometric contraction of quadriceps ( ofcourse along with some eccentric activity).

  • @SUSIKHAN40
    @SUSIKHAN40 Před 4 lety

    Sir, regarding Heel off to toe off , movement in knee joint is extension to flextion , this flextion is against gravity so agonist of knee flexor is working to produce . how it will be eccentric contraction of quads . please explain here kinetic analysis.

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  Před 4 lety

      Hello dear,
      This Movement of knee flexion during heel off to toe off takes place towards gravity and not against gravity.
      Knee is moving ( collapsing towards the ground) similar to when someone wants to sit.
      So this Movement needs to be controlled and not produced and therefore will require eccentric activity of quadriceps.
      Had quadriceps been inefficient then it will lead to knee buckling and fall.
      Hope this is clear, feel free to discuss further.

    Sir, in initial contact to foot flat, how is hip moving towards gravity? Pl help

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  Před 3 lety

      Just place a mark on your GT or ASIS and measure it's perpendicular distance from the floor at heel strike and foot flat.
      This will help you appreciate why the pelvic complex ( includes Hip) is moving towards gravity and therefore needs to be controlled eccentricity.
      The pelvis goes into anterior depression during heel strike and foot flat which is a Movement towards the gravity.
      Therfore the hip is also collapsing towards the gravity ( from 25 degree flexion to 20 degree flexion during weight acceptance and is needed to be controlled eccentricity).
      Feel free to discuss your query further if any.

    Sir .
    patients with basal ganglia have both wide and narrow based gait
    Is this statement right??

      Parkinson's patient have narrow based gait.

      So sir is this statement wrong as they only have narrow based gait???

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  Před 4 lety +1

      People framing question make it very tricky to answer,
      If they have a supporting evidence of even one Parkinson patient having broad base gait then they will declare the statement as right.
      Going about typical characteristics PD patients have narrow based gait.
