- Robin Hugh Gibb CBE, 62 (22nd December 1949 - 20th May 2012) was a British singer, songwriter and record producer, who gained worldwide fame as a member of the pop group the Bee Gees. Their younger brother Andy was also a singer. Robin Gibb also had his own successful solo career. Gibb was born on the Isle of Man to English parents, Hugh and Barbara Gibb; the family later moved to Manchester (where Andy was born) before settling in Redcliffe, a suburb of Brisbane, Australia. Gibb began his career as part of the family trio (Barry-Maurice-Robin). When the group found their first success, they returned to England where they achieved worldwide fame. In 2002, the Bee Gees were appointed as CBEs for their "contribution to music". However, investiture at Buckingham Palace was delayed until 2004.

Bee gees have been in my life with there music since I was in junior school, now in mid sixties,I love all there songs . Talented musicians, loved by millions, may be gone but not forgotten. As long as Barry carries on, they will still be with us.
Also started listening to them as a teenager now I'm 57. I think they were my absolute favorite group.

A sad passing for sure. The Bee Gees gave our world something very special, musical talents that seemed to stream from a magic place of inspiration, Heaven perhaps. Barry was tall, handsome, virile, and sexy not to mention talented. Robin was all those things as well, but it was the broader appeal of Barry that won him more attention. We've all been there, deserving of attention and praise but aced out by a slightly prettier or handsome rival. It is harder to bear when it is your sibling that is part of the family business.
Robin Gibb was taken from life way too early, he will always be remembered, with great fondness. RIP Robin.
