It's annoying how they keep referring to people as conspiracy theorists, the whole reason this case spiked peoples interest is because right from the start people thought it unlikely or unusual. Going off with 2 older men, going up into the mountains, not waiting for the bus , not calling friends from the bnb to get a lift or charge his phone or get some sleep or drink, or find a cafe, he literally walked right past 2 , then to wander off into the wilds. We might racionalise some of these things but all together it just doesn't sit right for many people and even at the very end when he was found, the morning the independant search teams were due to start, it's odd right to the very end. Anyone questioning anything or even sharing opinions have been met with angry replies and bot comments and unpressidented disgusting comments about the victim and family. It's just been such a strange one
I agree with you and I'm getting it was a trap why would he go over an hr away with two men and not to his hotel? They booked that remote b and b in the hills then left the next day 🤔to lur him in and I think he was drugged Why would he end up over a cliff? . Either way those responsible will pay the ultimate price. The media and police will want to hide it and put it down to a fall as it will cause so much aggrevastion to them!! . Why would he go into the mountains seriously, we are awake To the fact it was cleverly planned . That poor boy and his parents 😢 RIP you will get justice 💔
It is pretty simple - if you make up an explanation without having access to any real evidence, it's a conspiracy theory.
Guessing what happened is always a fool's errand, a waste of time.
I don't buy it for one second that those 2 men, one of whom is an "ex" drug ring boss, are innocent in this case. The narrative of the people who seem to believe this case is closed (or want it to be closed) is that he was too messed up on drugs to know what he was doing and that's why he trusted those men enough to go with them to their airbnb (far away from the clubs) and yet wanted to get out of there early in the morning (which is a sign of being clear in the head), even though he was dehydrated and phone almost dying, and yet too messed up to look for help in the residential area the airbnb was located at. Contradictory narrative. Which one is it? He came to his senses or not? Why was he in such a rush to get out of there early in the morning if he was so messed up to trust those guys and willing to walk up to the mountains? That's something you might possibly do if you were scared for your safety, which he clearly wasn't up until that point. If he left the airbnb because he was scared for his safety, why not stay in the residential area and look for help from the people there? If he was too messed up, why would he leave the airbnb instead of being messed up there? Are we supposed to believe he was messed up AND scared for his safety so he walked up to the mountains and dropped to his death? I don't buy it. I've been to Ibiza and done drugs and been scared for my safety, I would NEVER even in that state of mind go mountaineering and leave the residential area. The most logical explanation if he did truly leave the airbnb that morning is because he was scared for his safety. Which begs the question, why was he scared for his safety?? How convenient for the "ex" drug ring boss and his friend that Jay simply decided he didn't want to hang out with those guys early in the morning, so he just got up and left and dropped to his death. And why did the "ex" drug ring boss want to bring a 19 year old kid to his airbnb in the first place?? ""He came to my Airbnb alive and he left my Airbnb alive."" - Ayub Qassim. @@SveinnBj I agree, the fact there's another photo posted by Ayub Quassim of himself with a different young boy on the road up to that airbnb shows Jay wasn't the first to end up there, who was that boy ? and what did he do up there, did he get the bus back, what were the circumstances that he ended up getting in a car to go up there? and where is he now? surely he would have something to say, he's been on every platform in the middle of this huge case and yet he hasn't come forward. He must be thinking, my god I was literally just there! They only had that place rented a couple of days before so that photo must have been taken the night before or two nights before. The fact Jay left the bnb when Ayub went to move his car sounds to me like Jay took his chance to get out of there in that moment but the odd thing is that the road he took, you can see the bnb all along there for the whole walk you can look across that valley and see it and vise vera, so when he said he didn't know where it was, he literally walked up one rd . So he knew where it was. He got around the first corner that was out of site of the road and turned down the Barranco jaun lopez track or whatever its called and then called his friends, just doesn't make any sense. I really thought that video of someone getting in a car was him, how many other people would be walking up there? I think people want to let it rest now for the family sake but just too many unanswered questions.

I don’t know if anyone has ever seen the result of a clothed human falling down a craggy hill/mountain before, but for a fact the stone that you hit on the way down will tear the clothes of your back. I imagine the police have not given the full graphical details of the fall out of respect for the family.

I’ll tell you why. Because he spoke to 2 friends and they checked his location from his phone whilst talking to him and knew then he was alone. Also the airbnb owner saw Jay walking ALONE up the hill towards the mountains. I mean how much more evidence do you need????

There's clearly foul play involved, what about the £12k watch/drugs he stole just before this? People that steal from big time people normally get dealt with brutally, stripping is also common. The fact his clothes weren't on his body and his phone wasn't nearby indicates foul play. Why would he go off road? Why would he not go back? Why would he go into seriously deep vegetation next to a rivine? He was probably chased into it is my guess

They couldn't formally identify the body at the scene as being Jay as it was probably too decomposed after four weeks. They had to say Jay's clothes and possessions were found with 'the body'. Nobody said the clothes weren't on the body. After falling from a height the phone would have been flung out of his hand.

A video posted by El Mundo whose title begins "Hallan un cadaver en la zona" shows his body being recovered by helicopter 0:19 from very difficult terrain and where he probably fell to.

I went to Tenerife many years ago one day I thought let me go running up into to those mountains as soon as I got a quarter of the way up it was freezing cold and I came back down; that island is treacherous

The autopsy was done by finger prints to determine if it was Jay and it’s confirmed from a day ago it is him.
Well, his clothes being near his body rather than on him doesn't sound suspicious ....much,that poor young man has upset the wrong ones and it's caused his demise.I don't believe the 2 he went back to their hotel are innocent in this tragedy.

When people get hypothermia they often take off their clothes as they feel like they are overheating moments before they pass away

Tenerife is a volcanic island. The land is not "flat", and the roads and streets are hilly. I have visited many years because I have family there, and my ancestors are from la Orotava area. The locals understand not to walk there. They know it's dangerous in there, and only hiker and climber enthusiasts go there, and many go with a guide.
It took long because of the terrain. It's not a flat area. It's not like the UK. I can't stand the criticism, and the arrogance of the Brits.
Jay was found, and it's unfortunate for Jay and his family, but know that no one paused in the search. Many people are never found under such terrain, so it's extremely fortunate Jay was found at all. How about a big thank you to the searchers, instead of criticizing. Jay got himself there.
You are so wrong. The UK isn't flat. Ever heard of the Scottish Highlands and Ben Nevis, Welsh Snowdonia, Lake District and Scarfell Pike, Peak District, many of which are over 3000 ft!! They are equally treacherous as Teneriffe and many people have lost their lives in all of these areas.
The uk is not flat. Many of us do appreciate the terrain and the pressure that the guardia civil were working against. Arrogance and exceptionalism makes many feel the uk police would have “ done a better job” I do not buy into this , I am Scottish and we are fully aware of the dangers of the mountains . The weather can change in seconds . One minute sunshine , the next violent thunder and rain . Every year we have deaths of people who have failed to heed the warnings . They risk the lives of the SAR teams who valiantly go to help . I hope jays family can find some sort of peace ,but in reality you never get over the loss of a child .
Yeah, I've had a few mashups in Nandos, and the shape and positioning of the tables can really be disorientating - along with the inevitable volcanic energy building in my colon which made me sweat profusely and get even dizzier. I'm not surprised Jay couldn't find his way home. Luckily I had my mates with me those times, or else I'd probably have been left for dead I expect.

Jay’s body was found ( according to police reports) close to where he went missing. So rough terrain or not, unless their sniffer dogs had a cold, they should have found him sooner.

I once read that when someone is suffering from severe dehydration they are often found to have taken clothes off to try and cool down, due to delirium

Why did it take so long to find the remains if they're at the location where Jay Slater's mobile phone last pinged?
They say because "it was a difficult area to search" but to me that just sounds like a lazy excuse. They searched for a whole month and decided only now to search the area next to his last known location.

We all have to remember one important thing ... everyone is asking why he would do this if he did... This man was so drugged up he couldn't stand up..then he goes back with these guys probably did more drugs..and got paranoid or he was scared for a reason and took off no he eas not thinking clearly at all. But some believe he was killed by those men and brought there. Why was the appartment repainted why all the lies from Lucy why didn't the men come forward right away abd not weeks later and why did they leave a day later then they should have. Lucy told those men to take him back to the apartment. The owner knows that exactly what happened because why would she repaint her property. Did they ever see proof from his best friend about falling down the mountain he should have it on his phone...if we can see proof of that then case closed but then again his clothes would not be right next to him. Never mind dismissing "conspiracy theories" Times Radio. There are a lot of unanswered questions. I hope the police will be more forthcoming otherwise people will continue to suspect that the authorities are more interested in protecting the local tourist industry and links with the drugs trade than uncovering the truth.

Publishers frequently give videos clickbait titles. Viewers read this and pass it on without watching the video which clearly states that his clothing and possessions were also found WITH the body.

At 5:30 you say "no formal identification process has taken place yet". Slater has been identified by fingerprint as reported by the BBC on the lunchtime news.
The police havent even spoke up about finding him. Only all the posts and channels that were talking about him missing are the only ones talking about him being found. Just goes to show people will only listen to media. The police should of made a live statement announcing he has been found. I still think something doesnt fit

Could still have been alive after the fall so took off his clothes to throw out of the bush he was lying in to help make it more noticeable. Maybe he took them off once dehydration started making him hallucinate.

This whole thing is horrific.
If the body had been out in that heat for 4 weeks what with heat and scavengers he would not most likely be identifiable. It did say they were going to have to identify the body by fingerprints which I believe they did. There is a whole lot not right about this situation for sure how come when they searched Masca the dogs didn't find the body. No doubt they had cadaver dogs with them and they are excellent at finding bodies. So many things don't add up and I am not just an armchair detective I am the real deal. I don't think we have heard all that had gone on the Spanish police have been very careful with allowing information out.Why were those two men let go as fast as that? Surely as being the last to see the boy alive they would have at least detained them for 72 hours for questioning. Nah nothing adds up.

First of condolences to the family. This case is interesting in that we are dealing with the police force of a foreign country. They do things differently and we have to respect it. Apart from the locals, the terrain and how difficult it may or may not be is not known to the masses which in turn also makes the average person impatient. Add to that the boys past behaviour then you have a cocktail of add one plus one and not getting two. If you then look at the friends and frankly they do look dodgy then no wonder it came to this. Nevertheless as bad as he was, he is still someone's child or sibling and I truly feel for them. Not to drag this on but they must find out why he opted to take that trek.

@@FontaineDerbythe video title does says "clothes found by dead body" wild as it was the last ping location. Search was a fail they didn't do a 100m proper search by his last ping location. The ping wouldn't tell he was at top middle or bottom of the mountain. Then why not search it to make sure.

Why was the initial search called off so suddenly then weeks later they find body in the area close to last ping with his clothes close by!! Also how can they say it was accidental fall within an hour of finding which just do happened to be same day the Dutch team arrived!?! Sounds like a big cover up of foul play which they have tried to hide with extra time for body decomposition 🤷

19 year old goes to a party in Tenerife and gets high, he goes back to a house with two known drug dealers and got even more high all night. Then got lost the next morning trying to get back to his hotel and fell to his death. Very sad but not unbelievable
