      Everything is In a layered design. More may need to be removed than initially anticipated. Found a quote like that in an Audi manual. I am pretty sure Porche is the same.

    Good heavens! I am awed at how you persevere at this disassembly process. Me? I would be cursing the bureaucracy that mandated all the rubbish that goes into a modern car. I would think...mistakenly, I'm sure...all these unboltings and unscrewings as the "paperwork" in a modern vehicle. To watch you throw out all these "office files" into (hopefully...) the "Recycle Bin" is satisfying. I hope YOU enjoyed it as much as I did!

    I've never seen a car with so many components! (I haven't seen that one being disassembled to begin with, but it starts to make sense why these are so expensive)
    Hope you remember where all the cross braces went. It looks like not just the weight distribution plays a big part in Porsche's iconic driveability, but also the structural stiffness that some components or their mounting brackets were adding. The engineering on these cars is amazing.

    Thanks for the Porsche teardown video. It will be exciting to see the new CF panels that you build for a custom look of the Porsche GT -E. I am also looking forward to seeing your wrap up video for your first EV supercar. It came out great, and it will be enjoyable to see all of those many years of blood, sweat and tears, elbow smashing, fiberglass patching, and head scratching, required to create that great car.     I think the supports you removed from your stage 2 teardown vid were actually structural, cuz I remember them talking about it on Mat Armstong's vid when porsche were inspecting his cayman s. Sorry for forgetting to comment it on you vid before.

One question, when reassembling I didn't saw you putting the dash panel back (velocimeter, bc, etc.), just a frame, are you planning to use a different one? I love the Porsche dash design, I think it would be crazy if somehow you manage to make it work (tho you won't have rpm...)

    Some cars have a separate reservoir for the clutch, some don't. Most usually use a common reservoir

      Car currently has a frunk as it is a mid-engine car. I will try and keep something of a frunk if I can

    Body panels are usually abs. You can chemically weld abs by using acetone. It gets as strong as new since the bond is just abs. Its a lot cleaner and simpler.

      @@ElectricSuperCar if you need abs putty you can just mix abs scraps and acetone in a jar and mix it. Once you spread it on the part the acetone wil evaporate and you are left with just abs.

    I really can’t even comprehend being able to keep all of the screws and bolts and where they go set aside in a way that would allow me to put it back together. I replaced the screen in my phone once on my iPhone 4s and I stressed hard about where the screws came from and that was like 20 max.

    Keep up the great work, can't wait for more videos. I wish I could afford an EV right now, it's just the initial cost. It's a shame because I'm paying a lot for my SUV (Subaru Ascent $685/mo), that's similar to the price of an EV. The problem is, the only 6-7 seater I'm interested in is the Model X. That's almost a 6 figure EV base price. I'm not against used, but the prices don't really move. I'm interested in EV conversions. I'm really hoping that a market get's created that has full setups and a centralized computer to allow a more OE feel. Again, keep up the great work.

    Did you do any internet searches to help with the tear down or just use your engineering experience to figure out how to peel back the layers? Do you have a service manual to help? One of the hardest parts of the tear down is taking pictures and bagging small parts for each assembly. Then making notes for the various sizes of fasteners and what location they were removed.

    Get the factory service manual. It'll save you so much time. A Haynes manual won't hurt either, but factory is better.

    Really cool that you list the tools for the episode. I have a question about that. Do you like the lift that you have or would you prefer one with legs. I will be in the market soon and can't decide which I would prefer. The one you have looks easiest to use.

      Both have their advantages. The 2 post gives a lot more access especially around the wheels. The 4 post is better if you also plan to "store" or temporarily store a car. Also I have never seen a car fall off of a 4 post...can't say the same about a 2 post

    I know it's real easy hindsight being 20/20 for me to complain after the fact. But that's steering wheel was in your way for half that work in the interior. Yet you still left it on only removing it towards the end saving you a bunch of trouble

      No need for the clutch pedal, and I'm guessing that the steering column was out for the Front Drive unit install.. though there was no real need for that.
      Steering wheel removal would definitely make the removal of that brake booster clip much easier! (it's the notorious type used on all modern VWs)
      Rack is already electric, so no need for any electric steering conversion.

      To drop the subframe, I had to take out the steering column. Also to get out the brake booster, I had to take out the brake pedal
