Considering City of Heroes started initially as a marvel game, there has to be a shield throw animation in the code.

There could be but that is only if the developers did not clean up the code before launch and I think that is doubtful. As it would take up space and would ruin optimization.

@@ControlledChaosGaming I think I've seen test animations before. Like old gif uploads. Nothing spectacular, just one shield throw move and I think a charging cone that does knockdown.
