I'm telling you all now, if you have the time and money and space, start a lego city. It doesn't have to be big, but having one simply gives you this great sense of pride and accomplishment
I'm in total agreement.
Personally I think displaying the city modulars on a shelf is more charming. You can imagine them to be street subsections cut out from a much larger city. That way you avoid too much clutter as well as avoid the boring grid layout that virtually every lego city is built on, which in turn also saves you a lot of pieces, space, and money on filling in the three dimensionality of it. Separating on shelfs also gives you the ability to have different settings or themes, for example different seasons would be cool, or as you have it, they could be different districts. Cool to see that you're collecting/building up a city despite the lack of space, makes me want to build up a collection of my own too (I also don't live in a big space currently)
One of the best cities with such a small space 🔥
Haha Thank BFAB!
Man I so miss the live stream when you s would be on Greg s live stream. You just 2 good Ryan. Who was the other guy that was on with you he like Ninjago stuff. Not Sean him on utube in 5 so year s
always enjoyed your city and your utilization of space
Thank you!!! I need to start playing with it more.
@@SHYTIMEismyTIME interesting 😅
For the longest time a lot of us probably didn’t even know your shelves was a city and that it had Rocky Mountain details. This video is much appreciated shy. Wishing you nothing but the best for it’s future
Haha. I was hoping you'd enjoy this video.
Yo wassup mayo, it’s Hans Pötterman from bevins and you’re dizzy.
Yeer I did cas 5 or more years back I remember first ceeing his shelf city.vid back when i was following Greg s live stream s year before the 2 year lock down s started and shy talk about his shelf city.
@@SHYTIMEismyTIME 😊👍.great to cee that cement style edging you done I not Sean it unless mist a vid on it or unless you dident do a vid on the cement style edging I only new about the rock edge as U talk about doing it 5 years back 😊 I love you blossom trees.. have you check out my city at all man.
Emily shouted you out in one of her videos and that kinda gave me the idea of what I want to do. 14x14” is not bad. I have a 9x11”.
Good luck getting your own Market Street. It would be cool once you complete all the LEGO modulars.
One guy hear I can buy one of brand new in box it's werth $1.750 3 years back it be werth more now $$$ 🤩
It’s really beautiful. Super creative idea.
Thanks for showing us your lego city since the last time you showed us it’s so much better now
Great update! I have a vertical 'city'! Neat mountain ⛰️ concept!
Yes 🙌 THIS, this is what I NEEDED in my life! You da man Shy! ✌️😎
Haha hope you enjoyed!!!
I love the idea of a mountain on shelves I have a limited space also and this is perfect
Thanks for your videos, they are a real inspiration for me since I’m in your same situation. A small desk and some shelves above it. Your videos have helped me look at my starting city from another point of view, it will rise up instead of to the sides! Thanks again and keep up the great videos!
Thank you for your service!
I love your shelf city and makes everything so easy to view when at eye level. When fully lit will look epic.
I love the city setup.
Love love love your setup!
Thank's Hive!
I don’t know why, but I can imagine this is how lego minifigs would build a city in the space they have available…..
Looks great for the space constraint and love the story you are wearing through it!
Your city rocks, pun intended. Seriously though love how you pack so much into the smaller space!!
Just subscribed 👍🏿👌🏿👏🏿 great job & it’s cool you let the kids play in it
I prefer the shelf lego city over the traditional table setup. You can wrap the shelfs all the way around a room.
Can’t wait for more city vids!
Nice update. I like the old footage of when you were just putting up the shelves and starting your city 👍
you have a great LEGO city!! can not wait to see where the new Modular is going to go in it
Thank you!!! I'm not excited for the modular itself.. but I am excited to add it to the city to change it up.
Thank you for this video. I have shelves but not room for a "city." I also find traditional cities so busy that I miss a lot of whats going on. Im going to dig for some tutorials on how U made this sheves and more about Ur modular shelves. ♡❤
I love your city, it was how I found your channel originally. I vote to keep the stories going, they're amazing.
Love how you arranged everything, im in a similar situation where I don't have space to set up things as I wanted and my modulars have been shelved in a closet for nobody to see :) . I think I might try to do something like you are doing, Chistmas vacation next week is a good time to start.
Have always loved the shelf City. 👍 It’s got a security detail of hundreds of black falcon knights.
I'm a big fan of the shelf style. Recently I started sketching some ideas for a medieval/black falcon moc that I wanted to do when I had more space but I could make space for shelves much sooner
Thank you for your service! CZcams just shared your channel and I’m so glad. Your smile is infectious!
Thank you! You are worth it!!!
Hi shy a Lego shelf city up date I remember 4 years back when I first started following yo channle and you was talking about. Building a rock effect around the frame of the shelving oh you done a cement style effect on the shelf edging nice shy. yes I follow his city to. I love how his city has all the lighting in the modules..😊✌️
Merry Christmas Brother ♥
Shelf City is a Great Idea !
I mean at least you have a separate Lego room, my city is in my room which might be a bit bigger than that office. I honestly don't know the size of my room compared to your office. It's a cool city layout though.
Cherry Blossom Rock? I love it!
Nice update!
lets gooooooooo
Great stuff man.
Love the concept, would like to experiment with my own shelf
awesome update
Is your bottom layer (shelf) raised from the floor? If so, than maybe leave a toe relief, like there is for kitchen cabinets.
Love the concept & execution.
Awesome!
Cool!!
Great use of a limited space.
Hey SHY, I started watching your videos due to the Black Falcons! My favorite part of that series was the war elephants. Epic idea. And now I have begun a medieval city moc featuring the Black Falcons, but now I'm looking to get into an actual lego city. I'm not sure my wife will agree to a lego room, so a shelve city might be the middle ground. Any advice for starting such an adventure? Thank you for the excellent content!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed that video. Think about what you already have... and what you want to add. I would recommend if possible... having a little room for depth... so at least a baseplate and a half. Aside from that... go off of the room you're allocated by the wife. Happy wife... happy life right?
@@SHYTIMEismyTIME You right, lol. Thank you for the response and the tips!
I have a shelf city too!👍🏻
Nice hat 🫡❤
Did nobody realized he had a furry riot be put down by the military
Hahahah
F I love Lego !!!!
I gotta get a sigfig to you
Would love to have you in here!
Can anyone recommend what shelve these are or what size I'd need interested in starting my own shelf city but unsure on the right size that I'd need
I custom cut and made these. I would recommend.. ensuring that you have enough room for at least a little more than a baseplate to two.
What happens when the shelves fall?
They’re pretty wide and bolted down.. so they won’t fall… and if they do.. guess the city gets destroyed. It’s already been through a number of California Earthquakes.
Dude thinks he invented shelf city, lol
Having a lego city seems so pointless to me, no thanks
What shelf’s are these I can’t find one I really like and these look perfect
I custom built them.
@@SHYTIMEismyTIME ooooh wow your a very skilled lego enthusiast 🤗 I am excited to start my castle shelf village. I am excited to see more of your castle work as well!
Why you should check out @ChaosProductions military base. It’s amazing.
Yes! He has an siick looking base!!!
He does, but like you he doesn’t have enough space to expand it, and it’s makes me freak out because while it’s lego, so many safety regulations are broken 😭.
