solenoid on the starter isnt staying kicked out. either something on the solenoid is fucked or maybe current isnt continuous. Oh well, onto the next like you said.
I know it should start on either, but did you push in the cutoff? I forget it on our old 590, all the time. That 590 has 20k hours on her though, they made a machine back then. Ours has lasted 29 years hitting ledge in VT!
To bad I would have liked to see that thing come back to life. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to seeing the next one you look like. Please make more videos like this one but longer. Thanks!
Should have hooked up a nurse tank just to get it started. The fuel more than likely had water in it from condensation, and if it had water it probably had bugs in it as well.
If there’s smoke from the exhaust then it’s got fuel. You can start it without water or hydraulic oil for a short period. Why even mention anti freeze? That’s got nothing to do with how the engine runs. Engine oil’s pretty important though and l’m pretty certain these guys would’ve checked that.
Well I suspect that it is a electronic issue of the EEC .. What I did not see was a fluid check oil check or prime fuel line check or change of fuel filters..
Well, turns out your eec tale was BS. Somehow you managed to misdiagnose water in the fuel as an electrical problem. Lol Lemme guess, you’ve been an engineer and mechanic for 35+ years... Save it.
Dang! I found myself watching intently, hoping it would pop off for you. I've dealt with enough old crap growing up, just praying it would start sometimes (like my truck all through college). Oh well, like you say, on to the next one. Let someone else deal with it.
Chris, pretty sure this is a re-branded Hitachi. I spent a fair amount of time in the orange version back in the day. They were pretty smooth in their day.
Hi Chris I guess you know the people selling it. If that was me and it was that close to getting it to fire. I would of tried to do a deal where they paid for the part for the starter to get it running and you have first bid option still. Then if you didn't buy it pay you a bit of time for doing it. if that thing runs half decent, and you backed out from a deal then. It would make them money in the long run. as it sits now some bodys going to steal that for scrap price plus a bit( scraps on it's ass for price right now), and maybe get a bargain when they get it running to load it. Thats how we price tractors that don't run, unless it's rare, Just spent $3000 this week on a ford county that don't run. It's rare enough to pay that for it. Maybe you could of done some to this machine and flipped it to for profit . Regards Robert
I know sometimes you want it to just crank up but after sitting for years I would of drained fuel and replace then bleed it out then let it starting buy using gloe plugs instead of ether
well the good news the engine is not rusted out gear inside electric starter gear inside doesn't correctly move out to start the engine so yeah to open the starter and clean any debris or rust out
letsdig18 Good thing that water didn't pull through to the injection pump and shear the internal shaft off. I've seen it in Isuzus but the Deere engines run a different designed pump. More than likely it would result in catastrophic failure of the injection pump.
Well you need a starter or a rebuilt starter,..and there's money before you hear it running,..I think you made the right decision by walking away,..... When these machines dig a hole,.it's not supposed to be a hole into which you pour your hard earned money !
First job on a parked machine is to drain the fuel tank and replace the multiple fuel filters. If it starts, change the engine oil right off too. Then send out the hydraulic fluid and the old engine oil for a test report. Those reports will tell you if you want to own it. Also, starting fluid goes into the air filter box with at least the secondary filter in. Asking for disaster breaking open the air feed lines - like sucking in a rock from your shoes.
Catiplliar143 you play with your gay models, stop acting like you know anything gay boy. This is for real men, go watch your gay model building videos. End of story!
mrtowmonster In those days these are tagged made in usa - have a 690elc. US motor, hydraulics, swing motor, track motor, boom and stick and cylinders, hoses and tubes. Undercarriage from Hitachi.
Starter pinion gear... hopefully not the ring gear as well. Maybe injection timing. Who knows what else. It's a money pit. Good call to let some hobbyist get hold of 'er. The purpose of a hobby is to spend money, not make it.
These guys dont want to do any work. I'm not sure, maybe thats a good thing. I bet someone who knows what they're doing could get that thing fired in a couple hours.

Those were really good machines
Check fuel condition, water? Did you bleed the system, check Eng/hyd oil? Anti freeze? Check connections at starter? So many steps you missed...
True

That machine is actually a Hitachi with a deere engine and pumps.
Is that how still available for sale.. Let me know if so..
I wouldn't of let it go I love getting those old beast running the only time I would of let go if it was froze up
is it still there do u know

Ahhhh the red headed step friend is helping! yeah!
Jeff Vandorn haha yeah I like to get him involved in some of my crap! lol
It sure has seen better days. Fun to see up close, though.

How much did they want for it?
pretty sure I don't want a solid old hoe in my life ... the heart wants what it wants though .. be gentle, Chris :P
Did you buy this or are you moving it for some one
Can't wait to see what els y'all find nice vid old start cold start fail lol
hahah
I wouldnt give up that easy, might make for even a better deal to try and buy it as it is.
Chris, pretty sure this is a re-branded Hitachi. I spent a fair amount of time in the orange version back in the day. They were pretty smooth in their day.
chris have you tried looking up how to jump start an excavator that also works to
Nice, a little hammering on that a-pilar and that front window should be able roll down, eh?
mojostevo I don't know it was pretty well twisted and buckled. im not quite sure how they managed to do this.
I like your video. Location?
Worth a try, right?
you should have primed the fuel with the lift pump, and its the bendix in the starter thats faulty.
he had fuel white smoke

Hey man whats your last name if you dont mind me asking
I know sometimes you want it to just crank up but after sitting for years I would of drained fuel and replace then bleed it out then let it starting buy using gloe plugs instead of ether
want to see more of the Excavator
so im guessing john deere 992e and 992d
is a hitachi ex 700
what a shame it didn't start
Nothing runs like a Deere... Or a Hitachi!!!
Баллончик судя по всему от комаров
i would buy it
Something a little smaller for the farm ? lol
Is it still their Chris
This one still looks pretty big, was the linkbelt really that much larger? How do you judge the size?
this is bigger than the linkbelt 60k lbs machine
So the size is judged by weight? So if it's a smaller machine in size but bigger in weight it's a bigger machine
FishFind3000 Weight is the general rule of thumb for the size of the machine. The more a machine weighs the bigger it is in overall dimensions.
were is Charlie ?
Sounds like it's got a bald spot on the flywheel.
Delco 37mt starter. Drive is slipping. Common problem back then.
well the good news the engine is not rusted out gear inside electric starter gear inside doesn't correctly move out to start the engine so yeah to open the starter and clean any debris or rust out
I have a 87 John Deere 790 D it's a beast but mine is non electronic with low pressure over high pressure hydraulic system
Well the starter knows, when there's know hydraulic oil see?
voll cool
Run, run hard, run far, run fast! Compression is low, may be dry cylinder walls......or just a huge money pit!
Gigantic money pit even if it is just dry cylinder walls lol
David knows I drained about 3 gallons of water out of the fuel tank before I got it to start
I looked at that guys 953C, He used his stuff for Demolition. Most all his equipment was beat to hell...
catbuildinginc so did I. idk how he got that house boat in there! did you notice all the water in the oil of the Loader?
letsdig18 Yeah... it was a nice oil, water blend! lol, that damn house boat... Someone got that thing for $600! lol... its still there!
I don't see how you could get it out with all the trees! Is the loader gone?
letsdig18 yeah... think who ever bought the property is gonna smash it with some hoes. I think so, haven't gone back there in like 2 months.
much better choice
how much would this excavator be?
In Aus 15-20K running and 8-10K as is
Why must these things be so expensive :(
@@Spazamazz grab a shovel and you'll understand 😂
Anybody check the fuel level?
I thought you were looking for a smaller excavator for the farm?
Love2boat92 I am but ill never pass up a good deal even if I don't need it.
letsdig18 Haha. You sound like me. I don't need it BUT WHAT THE HECK THE PRICE IS GOOD AND I GET TO PLAY WITH SOMETHING NEW!!!!! WOOOOOOO. HAHAHA.
ha ha!😄
Not a bad purchase. But def a bad bendix
Old Deere 792D excavator,
Looks to me pretty big or
was the Linkbelt bigger
You mentiond another bad purchase 😊
Jan van den Bos this machine is 5k lbs bigger
Great excavator. thats a 270 Hitachi sized machine. Good job, boys, keep on buying and flipping excavators.
Tax me I'm Canadian it only had 3 gallons of water in the fuel tank. once I got that drained it fired right up!
letsdig18 Good thing that water didn't pull through to the injection pump and shear the internal shaft off. I've seen it in Isuzus but the Deere engines run a different designed pump. More than likely it would result in catastrophic failure of the injection pump.
the starter was siezed sometimes tapping it with a hammer will help not hard just enough to knock anything thats seizing it off
I would have gotten another starter and got it running
the diesel is probably gelled up
You boys might want to watch OneLonelyFarmers channel.
Mine starts immediately just needs to be primed up and might of had dirty filters
✌
Bigger hammer 😁
Where is it located contact my friend Matt from diesel creek
690e is hitachi ex 200 lc -2 or ex 200 lc-3
Want the price
At a guess 8-10K unless the owner doesn't know what it's worth.
Is that justin
Flywheel slipping or the starter s penium gone
Got Fuel ?
that is a japanese machine prob a hitachi
Yep alot of deers are. Know the c series was. But deeres usually have a deere motor.
Well you need a starter or a rebuilt starter,..and there's money before you hear it running,..I think you made the right decision by walking away,.....
When these machines dig a hole,.it's not supposed to be a hole into which you pour your hard earned money !
Or it's own death hole
Reg Sparkes haha that's right and it was going to need every cylinder repacked if you could even get it on the trailer as bad as they leaked

learn how to spray staring fluid.
CATIPLLIAR143 We are playing with real machines here not models.
I don't exactly think there is a wrong way.....
Starting fluid won't fix a broken starter motor
MrThisIsMeToo I play with real eqpment also watch my walkaround fuck head
Catiplliar143 you play with your gay models, stop acting like you know anything gay boy. This is for real men, go watch your gay model building videos. End of story!
Drain the old fuel and reprime with fresh fuel. It will probably run.
looks the same as hitachi ex 200 lc-1 also
Same machine
Che peccato io che vorrei averlo ma non fa e questo viene abbandonato
john deere has hitachi make their excavators for them so their not really john deeres except for the motors
mrtowmonster In those days these are tagged made in usa - have a 690elc. US motor, hydraulics, swing motor, track motor, boom and stick and cylinders, hoses and tubes. Undercarriage from Hitachi.
Why is it they beat the shit out of any piece of equipment in the south? Doesn't matter if its farm or other heavy machines.
idk some people just suck at operating and don't give a damn about stuff
Not everyone in the south mistreats machinery! I have saw some rough stuff up north too!
Watched the entire thing and didn’t even get that damn thing started ! 🙄
