    I know it should start on either, but did you push in the cutoff? I forget it on our old 590, all the time. That 590 has 20k hours on her though, they made a machine back then. Ours has lasted 29 years hitting ledge in VT!

    Check fuel condition, water? Did you bleed the system, check Eng/hyd oil? Anti freeze? Check connections at starter? So many steps you missed...

      Should have hooked up a nurse tank just to get it started. The fuel more than likely had water in it from condensation, and if it had water it probably had bugs in it as well.

    • @thegreat_I_am
      @thegreat_I_am Před 4 lety +1

      If there’s smoke from the exhaust then it’s got fuel. You can start it without water or hydraulic oil for a short period. Why even mention anti freeze? That’s got nothing to do with how the engine runs. Engine oil’s pretty important though and l’m pretty certain these guys would’ve checked that.

  • @super6954
    @super6954 Před 9 lety +3

    Hi Chris I guess you know the people selling it. If that was me and it was that close to getting it to fire. I would of tried to do a deal where they paid for the part for the starter to get it running and you have first bid option still. Then if you didn't buy it pay you a bit of time for doing it. if that thing runs half decent, and you backed out from a deal then. It would make them money in the long run. as it sits now some bodys going to steal that for scrap price plus a bit( scraps on it's ass for price right now), and maybe get a bargain when they get it running to load it. Thats how we price tractors that don't run, unless it's rare, Just spent $3000 this week on a ford county that don't run. It's rare enough to pay that for it. Maybe you could of done some to this machine and flipped it to for profit .
    Regards Robert

      letsdig18 Good thing that water didn't pull through to the injection pump and shear the internal shaft off. I've seen it in Isuzus but the Deere engines run a different designed pump. More than likely it would result in catastrophic failure of the injection pump.

    First job on a parked machine is to drain the fuel tank and replace the multiple fuel filters. If it starts, change the engine oil right off too. Then send out the hydraulic fluid and the old engine oil for a test report. Those reports will tell you if you want to own it. Also, starting fluid goes into the air filter box with at least the secondary filter in. Asking for disaster breaking open the air feed lines - like sucking in a rock from your shoes.
