    Also, take into account that the owner has his taxes to pay. That was basically his Gross.

      Thats what I keep seeing, While the owner operator looks like a nicer pay check there are a LOT more expenses to consider. Still pays more regardless but surprises can cost a lot too.

    So your company driver doesn’t get paid anything else except per mile? No pick ups no deliveries, no hourly paid waiting - loading time, trailer changeovers?! What a crap mate. Also, showing O/O gross before him doing his taxes and on the other hand not mentioning that company driver gets 11k tax return so add another at least 450$ on his 2 week payroll.

    Hello there my name is Samuel and I’m 18 years old. I am a very big fan of trucking and was looking into getting my CDL. I tried calling trucking schools go see if I can get a job at 18 after getting my CDL, but all the school I called told me that they can’t help because I’m too young and most businesses need drivers who are 21 or older.
    So my question is how can I get a job after getting my CDL license, and would it be possible for me to buy truck and start my own owner operate business at 18???

      @nathanielthelin1051 Před 2 lety +1

      So I wouldn't be an owner operator until you are older. I got my intrastate license when I was 20 and you can find a job to get experience. When you turn 21 you will be ready to work for a bigger company and you can save for a truck if you want. That is what I did and it has worked well for me. Also some companies will pay for your cdl so try to look into that if you can.
