    Why not clean the lens while you had them out? You'll never see the potential of those bulbs with the lens so dirty.

    I always love the Yukon updates. Going to put them on mine. Try buffing compound on the headlight lenses. They work magic.

    First, don't see them anymore for sale from your link
    Then can anyone help as when I check online, all sites say the right number for my GMC Yukon Denali 2003 that seems similar to yours, should be 9005 but a lot of YTers have installed 9006 bulbs instead of 9005!!! Why is that and won't it cause a problem down the line?

    These things are to fucking bright. It's like having on high beams. When a car is coming towards you with those in it, it's like they have on their bright lights. They should be banned. F ridiculous.

    • @austinermis8038
      @austinermis8038 Před 3 lety +1

      Lot of that comes with someone not angling them properly and not using HIDs in a clean projector housing. I learnt that from experience. After I got my 55w morimoto mini h1 projector lights which were custom designed for HID/Bi Xenons retrofitted into my 2007 OEM Ford Mustang assembly’s and angled them properly there was little to no glare to other drivers, and no one flashed high beams at me anymore.

      I am glad that I am not the only one who gets really annoyed with these amateurs. Yes its brighter FOR YOU but rest of us are blinded by your botchery. And when you pass someone with those lights, you are screwed because it takes more time for your eyes to adjust to dark.

  • @knobstonestickbows4962

    That's weird. They wont fit in my 04 Denali because the windshield washer reservoir is in the way.

  • @applepudin
    @applepudin Před 5 lety

    So I have an 06 Denali and i tried a different brand of l.e.d and not only did it trigger a check engine code but they would often not both come on at the same time when turning them on. I read these trucks have issues getting enough power to turn the led or hid but you didn’t mention any such issues with yours. Did you do anything beyond what was recorded or were they really just plug and play like demonstrated? Thanks and keep the vids coming love your Chanel.

    • @thousanddollarcarguy
      @thousanddollarcarguy  Před 5 lety

      Nothing else was done on mine. They literally just worked by plugging them in. Is it possible you snagged another wire or connector replacing yours that could for instance pull out anofher harness and trick the ecu into throwing a code. I know as the cars get newer more and more gets integrated into the harness. But its hard to believe the lights could cause the check engine code to come on.

    • @applepudin
      @applepudin Před 5 lety

      Thousanddollarcarguy oh yeah for sure I have! But I’ve been following the Yukon a lot closer obviously because I have one and I’m amazed you found one in that good of shape for that much 😮. And no I didn’t damage anything because the next morning after taking out the Hid’s the codes were cleared, could of been a separate issue and a coincidence though. I’m going to try out the bulbs you bought and hope for the best. If not maybe it’s a harness issue 🤷🏿‍♂️

    what is the difference between 9004 and 9005 bulbs?

    • @patlager2110
      @patlager2110 Před 5 lety +5

      9004 is meant for the low beams. They have a black cap on the end of the bulb, spreading the light sideways and out of the housing. 9005 has no cap on the end of the bulb, giving it more forward and focused punch. This matters more for non-projector lens types. His yukon, having a projector low beam, uses 9005 bulbs for both.

    • @thousanddollarcarguy
      @thousanddollarcarguy  Před 4 lety

      Swapping headlight bulbs in these is super easy. Probably a 2 minute job. Just pull the headlight assembly rods that hold the light in
      Remove the whole light assembly then rotate the old bulbs out. Simple as that

    • @thousanddollarcarguy
      @thousanddollarcarguy  Před 4 lety

      @@TheRADITOelPADRINO that should be how it works
      Just unplug one bulb and plug in the other. The only thing that could cause a problem is if someone wired in a bulb thats not supposed to be in there and would have a different connector. Butbi highly doubt thats the case. Should just unplug and plug back in.

      Not for OEM style Projector assembly’s for the Denali model. (Which you should technically use with HIDs, never use reflector assemblys, they blind other drivers). Because the Denali is the only trim to use projector assembly, they are much harder to come by. I managed to order a pair of oem style projectors off of Amazon for about 147$ and none of the junkyards arround here have OE style projector lights for the denali
