  • Caminito Del Rey close to Malaga Spain used to be described as the world's most dangerous and scariest hike. It is a popular day trip near Malaga Spain. Caminito Del Rey was originally built as an access route to nearby hydroelectric dams. As it fell out of use, the path deteriorated and it became a way for dare devil hikers and thrill seekers to test their nerve. After several tragic hiking deaths at Caminito Del Rey, the local government closed the site and renovated it into a safe and popular tourist attraction.
The trip to Caminito Del Rey from Malaga took a while and the entry to the park was quite disorganized and we almost left out of frustration. Watch the video to see if we thought that hiking Caminto Del Rey was worth he drive and the trek to the site.

It's beautiful in itself to see those mountains and how high they are. It's amazing how that walkway was built. I would love to see the videos, if there are any, of that walkway being built.

Really beautiful. Hope to get to Spain one day. There's some incredible hiking there. Where are you headed next?

Hi Sue! You would love Spain, gorgeous landscapes, and amazing food and wine everywhere! Hard to say where we'll be next, these travel restrictions make it hard to plan too far ahead, but we need to be out of the EU Feb 12, so we're mulling over some amazing options now. Can't wait to see more of the world 🌍

Of course it's dangerous if you attempt the original path, but that original path is covered over by the new path. I hear it's windy and if you are afraid of heights, you should be aware of how high it is. I want to try it when I return to Spain in late 2023.

Yes, the original path looks scary, the current one is a nice relaxing walk. it is high and some places (especially the bridge) one might get a bit woozy if heights bother them. You should absolutely go, it was one of the highlights of spain for us. Heading there in a fest weeks. Just wondering, what time of the year was this filmed? It looks like a rain jacket and a jumper are warm enough?

Hi! This was filmed in early January and we started quite early in the morning. We were a bit chilly in the shade and before we got moving, but once we got a brisk walk going in the sunshine we were plenty warm enough and started removing layers by afternoon. Thanks for watching and enjoy your trip. Where will you be staying?
