Yup. He’s trying to save your camera and everything on you lol. My brother hopped into a taxi with his sunglasses on and it’s only when he got out he’s realized that the view changed and that he’s not wearing them anymore. The most sleek and sophisticated type of theft. Just like a mosquito bite, you’ll only realize after the fact.

Filming is not a problem in Ethiopia. There could be some restrictions on filming security infrastructures, private citizens (without their consent). Traffic jams are high between 9:00am to 7:00pm. Bole,where you filmed, is noted a busy area.Thank you for your genuine message.❤

Yeap, they warned you about filming with the windows open, only to prevent you from becoming a victim of phone snatching. I only know of restrictions on filming sensitive government buildings like the defense ministry.

I've also flown on Ethiopian Airlines. I have to say it's a very good service, the food served was very nice. I think if I visit Addis Ababa again will probably check out the Ambassador hotel. I've visited Addis in the past and I was also very surprised at how modern looking and well built it is. It's very clean, and as you mentioned construction is booming there. They are very religious, and I'm very interested in their view of Christianity, I'd like to learn more. Hopefully will visit there again, I hope the region can overcome it's security issues.

you could have went to a lot of cultural places that are near to Ambassador Hotel that night. Addis Ababa is a safe city. The main reason the taxi driver restrict you from filming is that he wants your devices to be protected and he don't want you to have bad expriance while you are in Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa has one of the busiest traffics in Africa. You didn't get to experience the traffic because you left your hotel early in the morning (usually traffic around Bole starts to pileup after 10 AM). If you have went to the city center and residential areas of the city, you would have experienced the traffic.

Addis Ababa is a very busy city in the World. You better see it when people are out. Visit Mankato the largest African outdoor Market in Addis Ababa. You did not see even the tip of ice burg. There are so many beautiful tourist attractions from parks , lakes and rivers including historical site that you couldn’t finish visiting in months.

Great video. I'm an Ethiopian. I want to start with your last observation. It must have been a holiday or something because usually on a Monday Addis is chaotic. Actually, it always is. Addis is my birthplace so I might be a bit biased. But it has crisp temperatures, lots of restaurants, beautiful women and men, history etc..You should spend more time in Ethiopia. Bahir Dar, Lalibela and Gondar are musts.
