thanks for watching! I love that old and gritty look! Bronze on the Nurgle armor seems like the right idea! I would shade with Nuln Oil and rehighlight maybe with either Sycorax Bronze or Runelord Brass for a very dirty and old look. Then, maybe edge highlight with Runefang Steel for that last bit of epic!
Oh man I love these models. They're my favorite models by games workshop by a long shot. They're so full of character. It's a shame I'm such a slow painter and am still stuck on my chaos knights lol.
hahahaha! Thanks for watching, I'm glad you liked it. I think that everytime someone buys a box of models because of my taetorials, I should get a cut from GW!
The music is back! I noticed it lol. Nice taetorial as always. Any chance you could do an Ostermark tutorial in their purple and white? Just keen to see how you would do it.
Thanks very much! Hope the painting went well with these! Did you see the first part of this video where I painted and shaded the models in their first coats?
Thanks for the constructive critiques! I wonder if GW just added that dark blue glow, not as verdigris, but as a way of imbuing their Black Knight models with an unearthly beyond-the-grave glow? You can definitely see that they knew they were going for that blueish green tinge on the product page pictures, and I'd love to be able to ask what they were thinking. I know that it does add a very cool glow to the models, but you're right, it wouldn't be made of copper, which verdigris appears on..
Nice job! Personally, and we all have different tastes and likes/dislikes, but personally I like for Black Knight type figures to be more gothic looking. That is, I prefer to have just a few colors, like black, white, red and perhaps a metallic armor type color. The Vampire Counts in general look best with strong gothic colors. But your color scheme looked great as well.
That's a great point, I would also agree, and decided to do the purple to give just an extra splash of color and to reference their original Sylvanian colors. I do agree, though, if you painted them just as gothic and dark models with a minimum number of paints, they would definitely look fantastic. Thanks for chiming in!
They look outstanding. I love how the armour looks old and gritty. Instead of gold, I went with bronze on my Chaos Nurgle Knights armor. Looks abit shiny. Maybe I should add agrax earhshade? Not sure. Anybody have any suggestions.
First of all: great work and good painting skills. Here is a little constructive criticism; While that verdigris looks neat and adds what you may call a "finishing touch", it's not really... Correct, realistically speaking. Verdigris is a form of corrosion, but it only occurs in a chemical reaction with bronze, brass or copper. Not Iron or steel. You are basically saying your knight's armor is made of copper. The armor style suggests a much later time period where iron and steel was dominant :)
hahaha yes, this was the day the music came back! Ostermark Taetorial coming right up! The purple and white can be tricky. Hopefully I can get that out soon =D
Hey Warboss! Great videos man. I use them a lot, after acquiring a vampire counts army. One question though. I did the black knights and dire wolfs...somehow my models are a lot more "black" than yours? I follow the videos step by step...but after applying my black wash (baddab black i think) the model seem so much darker than yours....and I'm not being overly generous. And also the stegadon green highlight we started with are, basically gone after the wash... any thoughts?
Hi buddy! Thanks for writing! I have had the same problem with my washes and one workaround I think might work for you would be to thin the wash down just a bit with some water. That will make the pigment separate and not result in such a dark finish. Hope that helps for you! Best of luck with your VC! The new Nagash supplements look like they'll really breathe some new life into the game!
Cool. i´ll try that. I was considering Devlan Mud at a point. I´ll try watering down the black wash. Yes, i am looking forward to the Nagash supplements indeed. Thanks for answering. Daz
Haha seems GW are watching your vids, the dark elf line got a massive reboot recently. What do you think of the new models? Excellent black knight tutorial btw, will come in handy when I get round to starting my VC army! Keep up the good work bro!
Where's my royalties, GW!?!?! I love the new Dark Eldar models, I think they're really nice and perfectly capture the lithe, graceful deadliness of the Dark Eldar. Thanks again for watching!
I thought, when I was doing it, that it was just a little too much, but when I actually stepped back and looked at it, the purple actually makes the models stand out and pop from the usual red/black combo that you see on the table. Give it a try for yourself, you might be surprised!
Thank you! Comments from the land of the Vikings are always welcome on my videos!!!
Thanks very much! I agree, they're some of the best models that GW produces. So much character. And they're really easy to paint!

These were the first minis I painted! I love seeing other folks do them!
They look awesome! Cheers from Sweden, the land of the Vikings!
Very good! And what a lucky find! All warhammer stock at half price! You got quite the haul! Best of luck getting your VC ready for battle, my friend!
Thanks for watching =D

Great vid love it
Very nice! One of your best if I do say so myself!
Thank you, I truly enjoyed this model. Very simple to paint up and looks great with a minimal paint job. If I can do it, anyone can!

I want to rebase mine on to rectangular cav bases too, these stooopid oval bases make them look massive
Yeah, there’s nothing like being able to rank up your cavalry. Doesn’t matter what army, cavalry ALWAYS looks better ranked up.

I seem to have a hard time pronouncing the following terms:
1) Verdigris
2) Tutorial
3) Anything that Igor says
Don't do drugs!
never again!
sorry but the purple ruins it for me :(

no. not anymore....
