Ange has won in a salary cap league (A-league)
Ange has won in a country with a massive language and cultural barrier (J-league)
Ange has won with a national team.
Ange has rebuilt a squad in one or two transfer windows. A team who was pumped by 30 points to the title the previous season and lost key pieces in the offseason, then went on to win a double in his first season, then proceeded to obliterate the competition in his second season.
He's won as an underdog, he's won in adverse conditions, he's won with no resources and he's won as a front runner.

Ange is an absolute Aussie legend. South Melbourne legend, Won the A-League with Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory. Won the J-League with Yokohama F. Marino's their first title in 15 years. Wrestled back the Scottish league with a Celtic team that had their pants pulled down the previous season.
And his crowning achievement, winning Australia's first and only Asian Cup in 2015.

This appointment is an admission winning something isn't your priority anymore, and that's a good thing imo. The Mourinho & Conte experiments were worth doing, but they didn't work so their should be an acknowledgement that Spurs aren't ready for those 'win at all costs/potential dynasty' coaches yet.
As a rival fan (Chelsea), this appointment feels like Spurs & I don't mean that in a patronizing way. He's got a stubbornness about him, like Sarri, when it comes to a certain quality of football he wants to see & that's what Spurs' roots are, entertaining football first. That clashed with our culture, it won't with yours because it is your culture.

    @thomasbrindle7308 Před rokem +4

I think the Spurs fans will be in for a treat because Ange has always played an attractive style of uncompromised attacking fast paced football, that produces RESULTS.
His Brisbane Roar team were nicknamed 'Roarcelona' due to how similarly they played like Pep's Barcelona in 2010-12. He set the longest unbeaten run in Australian football history of 36 unbeaten. That team also became the first to win back to back titles in A-League history.
When he took charge of the Aus national team, he had virtually no time to prepare for the 2014 World Cup and was drawn in a group of death of Chile, Netherlands and Spain. Despite conceding 3 in every game, we were competitive in every match as you may remember us narrowly losing 3-2 to the Dutch. Ange's triumph was winning the Asian Cup in 2015, the greatest achievement in Socceroos history.
After that tournament, Ange got qualified us for the 2018 world cup with a (what we fans would called crazy at the time) 3-5-2 formation which was basically 7 attackers and 3 centre-backs. Ultimately I think Ange didn't really have the quality of players in our national team pool to play like that, but the fact that he got us to the world cup really is a miracle. Ange quit the national team job two weeks after qualifying, citing he did not feel that the board had faith in him and neither he in them to produce a functional footballing structure in this country. A man of principles. If it's not done his way, he won't do it. Should come in handy when negotiating with Mr Levy.
Next move was to Japan, where he won the J-League with Yokohama F Marinos. The clubs first title in 15 years, and Ange did it in style and FAST. He had one season of transfers to transform this club into a team that Pep Guardiola personally loved as the Irish Guy mentioned that they dominated Man City in terms of possession in a preseason friendly. Ange and Pep had a very nice dialogue after the game and to my knowledge, Pep admired Ange very highly.
Celtic is a similar story. A team down in the dumps. Ange has to turn them around quickly and he produces a double the next season and then a treble the next. Talk to any Celtic fan and they will tell you how much they love this man. Ange is not just a decent manager, he is also a great man. He actively makes an effort to talk directly to fans. He wins for them, not due to them. He will build a much more positive culture around Tottenham Hotspur, where the football is good, the people are good, the fans are happy, the team is competitive and will 'dare to do' as spurs people say.
It all just crucially depend on whether Daniel Levy will enable Postecoglou to do so

Bringing the daily mourinho news to the Irish guy
After the lost penalty shootout in the final of the Europa league mourinho got all of the players together in the middle of the pitch and gave them a long speech which was translated by television lip readers and this is what he said
"Don't fall on the pitch crying. We don't do that here. I told you before the game we either win or we die and we are dead. You gave everything and you have no reason to cry. The pundits that were not good enough to be successful in sports They will talk about us a lot tonight. You just ignore them they will say many things. Same with the keyboard Einsteins . They will talk and say Many mean things. About you. Me. But you just ignore them because you will all win other trophies in your career while they will still be keyboard Einsteins in 10 years I've got 26 trophies and I will still win many others. Do you know where these people will be at that point? They still will be failed athletes turned pundits. My wife is in the stands. She hates football. Always had but she came to support me like she does in every finals. My daughter is there too she left her jewerely business in London to support me like my son did. They did it for every final in the past 20 years and tonight you will go home to wives and kids that will be here for you so to hell with strangers opinions. I'm having many offers right now. Psg have been begging since I left tottenham I could win 3 trophies in a season easily but I refuse I want to stay for you. I'm not going anywhere FOR YOU . I want to fight for you. And I want to win with you. So we don't f***ing cry. We go back to Rome our head high "

Ange really isn't an unknown entity in our part of the world though. Sure he got the Brisbane Roar ob because the previous coach got caught drink driving but still. within 18 months of that appointment he turned that club into what we call Roarcelona still to this day winning the A-League double and doing it back to back which at the time was unheard of. Then goes onto conquer Asia with the Socceroos, Conquer Japan, now conquered Scotland. Then here's where I agree with the title of this video of this being a disaster but not based on the coach, this is based on the club. Spurs are a curse, they are allergic to trophies, their owner is one of the worse going atm and won't back any coach, If Conte and Jose couldn't win anything at that club then what chance does any other manager in the whole world have???

As an Australian Spurs fan, I'm very excited to see what he does, squad needs a refresh and I honestly think expectations need to be dropped by the club and it's supporters. The way I see it, out of the big 6, or 7 now with Newcastle, Spurs are the lowest on that totem pole. We honestly shouldn't expect Champions League football, we should celebrate it. I think a squad clear out and a new focus on providing quality football is what Spurs need, after 3 consecutive defensive minded coaches. I think Ange has a genuine chance at changing the image of the club, similar to how Poch did. Either way, it's awesome as an Australian football fan to see fellow Aussies succeed, and at my club too!

For me it's not about Ange Postecoglou, It's about Spurs. Ever since Poch left Spurs's next managers were all tipped to go on and succeed
Mourinho- After his first season he was given a big budget and after defeating Arsenal, Tottenham were being tipped to an unlikely title race.
He was later sacked in the same season.
Nuno Espirito Santos- Hear me out here.
After winning his first 3 games, some brainless pundits were hyping him up like he was the next big thing.
He was sacked after a heartless 3-0 loss to Man. Utd.
Antonio Conte- After a great first season, finishing 4th, Conte spent heavily and the same clueless pundits claimed Spurs would fight for another unlikely title charge.
We all know how that turned out.
