Speaking as a photographer in general, I have a few years of backpacking in the Sierras so packing light should be instinctive for me but when it comes to photo gear i have made the same mistake! It helps me to speak out loud a narrative of what I expect to do on the trip to make sure I have everything and or make sure I’m going to have time to use everything.

It was an INCREDIBLE trip--and I'm still sifting through all the content from it. 😂 One day I'll catch up on it. You are exactly right though--it really feels like a wasted opportunity to not 'capture' it all. 🫣
