I just started really making videos about 7 months ago. 4 months in a brand reached out to me and offered me 1300€ for a sponsored 60-90 seconds in a video. I could not believe it. Everything I had read up until that point in time was like 10€ per 1k or something? So I should have been charging like 50€ 🤣🤣 but it was so awesome to have that starting point because when a brand reached out to me a few weeks later and asked for my
pricing I knew I could at LEAST ask for the 1300€ the other company had offered me. And guess what, the second company agreed to an even higher rate!! It was awesome.
Also just recently a company reached out to me and offered me a very low price, which I thought might be justified because my views haven’t been that great recently (in comparison to views in the past). But then after some thought I was like no if I am going to do this, regardless of views they will get, the effort is going to be the same, I’ve updated camera equipment, this video will LIVE on my channel - so I emailed them back and said it needs to be at least double and - surprise surprise - they doubled their original offer. I still can’t believe it. Imagine if I had never asked!!! So now I will always ask.

THISSSS! I'm so here for all of this, congratulations and thanks for sharing!! It really is the best when a company comes right out the gate offering a strong rate, they probably don't even realize how much that set you up for success in the future! I had the opposite problem where my first every brand deal I charged $75 for two posts, as I had no reference point and the calculators did me dirty. The brand was probably laughing on the other end as they accepted it. 😂🫠
oh my god, 75 for TWO posts............. do you know Swell Entertainment on here? at one point I was on the German ( I'm a American but make videos in German for the German audience) Creator on the Rise (it did nothing for me lol but when they announced I was going to be on there I was frantically googling what that meant, and I found swell entertainments video of her experience with it and also how she went about managing her brand partnerships that came pouring in as a result! I can't remember if it was her or someone she knew said 100 dollars for her first video integration and the brand ambassador came back to her and was like .... we can't accept that 🤣 I was so happy to hear about that integrity!! it does exist in this space!! @@CreatingwithKaya 🚀🚀
Oh yess!! One of her videos actually inspired me to talk about my experience *almost* going on a reality TV show--the same one she covered. I haven't seen that video though I'll check it out!! It really is amazing to hear there are people with integrity out there. It reminds of an experience I had with someone looking to represent me/manage me... and she said "off the record, if you can keep the money in your own pocket.. keep it that way. If you really need the help, then only then seek management".
This video came right on time! I didn't use the calculators, but I was afraid of charging more because my audience here is still not that big (although I have a bigger audience on Instagram). I always thought the same way as you did regarding the number of followers. But unfortunately, it does matter to a lot of people (and also brands), so that's why we sometimes get crazy over these numbers. Thanks so much for creating this video, btw. You helped me reflect on so many things!

Thank you so much for all the great content you put out! I'm also a Canadian in Alberta and just getting started. When you share with us about rates, are you talking canadian $ or US $? I watched a creator saying they seriously were underpaid because they didn't discuss currency. Ooh great question!! As I usually work with Canadian brands I charge CAD-if I work with US, I charge USD, but definitely make sure that’s clear from the start of negotiations! Ooh and I’m so glad-that mic has been my BEST FRIEND 😂 I’m so happy with it.

I today just got my first paid collab $500 deal with a brand under 3k ig followers & under 8k subscribers, i did give rights for a year which i know u said you don't recommend, can i ask why that is?! & also when/if you can, would you help us by advising us on creating a potential media kit? ik that can be tricky but would love to get guidance if possible! Ooh!! first, congratulations on your first paid deal!! My first deal I under charged SO BAD, so you're doing great. So rights should always be negotiated as an 'add on' to your base rate. If they want to use your content for a whole year, they usually have to pay a hefty amount because it could potentially conflict with an upcoming deal that requires exclusivity.

I actually don't use my mediakit much these days- as I usually just lay everything out in the email and tailor offers to specific brands--But I'll put it on my list as something to explore making content on!

That is what it is all about. Your content is cool. I like what you got going on. So I have you bookmarked on my pc. You are actually part of a list I made up of content creators I like. I got a list saved in my email of about 150 people. I try and go through that list once every other month and check out what's new with those people. And engage and etc. People like you make the list for two reasons. 1) I think they are cool. 2) They show me support. I am and I continue to be a proud subj7scriber to your channel. I am and I continue to be. I am an advocate on this platform for engaging with others and supporting one another. And returning love and reciprocating feedback.
