I've had a season ticket at Leeds for 12 years and hated the fact our attendance was so low, but the reason was because we were a bottom half championship club that charged £40+ for a match ticket. We had the highest prices in the football league. Can't blame people for not wanting to spend £40 for a ticket against the likes of Barnsley

Not an official boycott, but the previous ownership did tend to sack the manager when the gates dropped so the best way for Ipswich fans to show their unhappiness was also to vote with their feet. There were several times when gates of 16,000 were being announced when we prob had under 10,000 in the ground in the Championship years with Marcus Evans as owner.

One slight flaw in the quest for most loyal. Clubs announce the number of tickets sold and not the actual attendance, which is why you get so many bemused faces when attendances are announced. For example, you may be a season ticket holder and decide not to attend for whatever reason. Indeed, the match could be on the telly. However, you are still counted as being there even if you haven't been through a turnstile. The only people who know the actual attendance are the stadium manager and the police's match commander.

Like you said, people don’t realise how big Ewood Park is, whether we filled it to the max in the 90’s or not, naturally the worse you get the less fans want to watch, if our stadium was like the Vitality, Kenilworth Road, Stadium of Liberty, Home Park etc. we’d probably make it look a lot more full, it’s just that since Venkys came in less and less people are watching.

One thing to note about Plymouth is while our home attendances have greatly fluctuated over the 10 years, the away support has remained fairly consistent.
Obviously not what the video is primarily about, but the most dedicated of us Argyle fans really have stuck with the club through thick and thin and travelled large distances each season to do so.
Facts dont lie though, I do think we have a fair amount of plastics with our fanbase that have only jumped on the bandwagon while things have gotten better. This was particularly shown in the EFL trophy last season. We didnt sell out a home end crowd of about 15,000 during the semi final, yet suddenly we were able to bring 45,000+ to Wembley (majority left before full time, showing the plastic nature of those fans too)

Wednesday's season tickets' undiscounted prices are high but most Wednesdayites buy their tickets when they are discounted. Such as the earlybird discount or buying multi-season tickets. The full price isn't paid by very many fans at all and the discounts are very generous. The High face values are an incentive to supporters to buy their tickets early which enables the club to plan a bit better. Yes I know many say that Mr C. is a bad owner, and he may well be, but ticket prices for the vast majority of fans are often cheaper than rival clubs if you take advantage of the discounts.

We get alot of comments about it but when every single 1 of the 24 clubs in this league had a poor spell, addendances drop it's just how it is. You can go look at every clubs attendances and find the years where they were poor and there's ya facts. No club has had sell outs when they were crap.
