to be fair when dallas wins they make you look alot worse then you prolly are- honestly i cant recognize this crew from that night- im not trying to brag the stars are my team but im usually genuinely worried about an oilers match up due to the history old rivalry and they got the single best player in the game. hard not to be a tad intimidated. the difference is what night the goaltending was in- otter is finding his game and gorgiev simply didnt do what otter did.- one thing i noticed for instance was how on the fourth goal he stood back up for some reason. it almost looked like an animation reset in a video game had he just stayed on his knees that knock in doesnt go- and thats alot of the time all otter does- just sits on his lap and lets it hit him. gorgiev might be feelin some stress hes usually better than that. but hey even more important the yotes wooped the knights So the entire nhl has won today.

As a hockey channel that specializes in Oilers, I don't really know why we dominated them. Like we can be a very dominant team, but to over double the Avs's shots and triple their goals is insane because we're talking about the Colorado Avalanche who I have tremendous respect for!
By the way, skipping Ekholm's big hit on Rantanen is really bad SN, quite an important part of the game.
I believe the Avs played the Wild last night and apparently made it to their hotels in Edmonton at 2am. It happens and it does affect play. Which is why I'm irritated with the NHL giving the Oilers 6 games in the last 9 days of the season and starting the post season a couple days earlier, essentially only giving the Oilers 2 days off after a crazy 2 weeks of games before the playoffs start.

I actually don’t think that McDavid wraparound was meant as a pass. He’s shot goals off the goalie’s back to deflect in before so I actually think it was intentional. That angle game is nuts.

It was IQ 1000 play. He saw the defenseman coming to block so he shot it onto his skate. Look at his face...he meant the play.

do well- i want the oilers to face my stars in the conference. if either of us are to win the cup the old rivalry would be a good place to get that energy. the winner of that match up would be burdened with the responsibility of making it count. and i think that would work very well in either lockerroom.

@@AlGrundauFlamesTroll tbh Knoblach is not that great of a coach. He flips lines constantly even when the team is succeeding. I believe the loss of Jay Woodcroft motivated the players to play up to their standard which is what sparked the 16 game win streak.

Man, this team has been so weird this year. They can get absolutely steam rolled by good teams (for example the blowout 5-0 loss to the stars) and then comeback with a well-deserved hard working win like tonight. This is why I have a hard time predicting where they will go when they enter the playoffs XD.
That's the way to play hockey for the Oilers! In this style there's no other team to fear.

Have the Oilers exposed a flaw in Georgiev's game? Shots from the outside almost always give a rebound that Georgiev can't spot immediately. He loses the puck on rebounds. If teams shoot from the outside with one guy crashing down, he can put the rebound away before Georgiev can react. Doesn't look good for the Avs in the playoffs if they play Georgiev.
Some reason I was still nervous that Colorado would score 3 in like 5 mins even near the end. Snow ball mode was disabled tonight.

So happy for the Oilers. So annoyed that McDavid only scored and no assists. He genuinely looked annoyed at himself with both goals.

Kind of a crazy game. Loved how many of our Players scored. Ceci, Kane, McDavid, Bouchard, Ekholm, Draisaitl, McLeod: all 2 Points. Another 4 Players with 1 Point. Talking about depth.

Alexander Georgiev is nothing but a second string goalie. He is inconsistent and undependable. As soon as he lets one in he just starts to fall apart every time!

The more I've seen Georgiev lately, the more he reminds me of Kuemper. Kuemper was the Avs goalie when they won the Cup a few years ago but he was only along for the ride while the team scored enough to make up for his mistakes.

I live in the East so I don't get to follow the Oilers that closely but they've had such a weird season. At the beginning they looked terrible and flipped a switch around the end of November. Did they do a coaching change?

The first was a nasty deflection that he had no hope of saving. The other two were own goals from his own team. The 4th was on him. I didn't see the other two.

The difference tonight? The Oilers got away with their mistakes; the Avalanche didn't take advantage of those opportunities. The Blues and the Stars did. Stanley Cup champions minimize errors.
Aves had 3 PP they couldn’t score on. Oilers also didn’t score on their 5 PP. what mistakes are you talking about both teams got caught both teams had penalties and power plays all the scoring was done 5 on 5 just admit the Aves got beat.
