One day two burglars broke into a house and stumbled across a studio with much vintage awesomeness. Having need seen anything like it before, they were amazed at the blinking lights, jumbles of patch cords & plethora of knobs and decided to investigate further. The following CCTV footage shows the awesome jam that followed.
LMAO :))
wonderful ;-))
Love it won't leave it
Now that is funny!!!
LOL brilliant HAHA
Ah Ah, Russian attitude? Great! I like Russia. Anyway both of us (Maurizio and Lapo) live on the hills near to Florence (Italy). Alexander Robotnick (Alexander the worker in Russian) is a character I invented in the early 80s, when I composed "Problèmes d'Amour". He was supposed to be a musician born in Kamchatka and escaped to France during the Stalin time, that's why he was singing in France language.
Just google Alexander Robotnick or The Analog Session
Thanks to everyone for appreciation
Grandi Maurizio & Lapo
Я тоже люблю Russia :) Но итальянцы - молодцы! Так держать! Электронная музыка завораживает...
Hands down one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time, you guys are Iconic!
Намана, посаны ваще ребята молодцы! Могете!
worker in Russian is spelled rAbotnik, but good attempt yet. good. But I suggest you change the legend. Alexander has escaped with Stalin to Mars and then returned but Stalin rejected to return because he liked mars a lot more than he liked Red Square. In Moscow there was only one square being Red, on Mars the whole planet is Red so he made a desicion to stay. Alexander has rode nuclear bear that was driven by drinking radioactive vodka to reach France where he eventually broke eiffel tower. what we see now is a low grade Chinese copy built in Bejing
Holy shit.. fourteen years old and that bass riff is still indestructible 🔥
Fucking deadly
Это - классика!)
Robotnik is playing in Zagreb underground this weekend. At 74.
Respect.
They tried every button but still couldn't turn the burglar alarm off.
This comment should be at the top.
Should have used SimplySafe or Trivago! xD
Hahahahahhahahahahaahah
😂😂😂😂
That is funny.
Great video though!
Ten years later, in December 2019, ... it's still awesome.
2020 .Thought it was brand new !
Gets awesomer by the minute
it grooves like fuck. cant get any better than this
2 months later, in February of 2020, ... and I have bad news for you. The passage of time would seem to have tarnished the jam session of these two musicians, making it suddenly un-awesome. A tragic fate, but certainly one that all music on you tube must face. 😔 May we all learn from the tragic passing of this music.
@@severant1860
Hold on , that's too cryptic for me . Could you please elaborate on your statement , explain what it says to unnative english readers like me ?
For god sake, how could this be hidding from me for ten years?
Just came here and asked myself the exact same question. Awesome jam for sure.
Holy patchcords Batman what in the world is goin' on here
Ditto dude.
Serendipity 😆
first encountered this outer space video in 2012, proud of it.
I wanted to find this video that a friend had shown me years ago. So I just googled "two old men look like burglar play techno", and here I am. I love the internet.
Hahaha unbelievable
I've been listening to electronic music since the birth of Tangerine Dream, I'm now 66 years old and still rockin' to the beat, these guys show us a masterful masterclass in how to make machines rock, amazing.
TD made nearly no beats in the beginning.
@@marcmontesson3922 agreed their early albums, which were released in the uk (Burning Brain using electric guitar, live drums and electric organ) had little in the way of electronic sequenced beats, In the UK, it was the release of Phaedra that gave us our first experience of pulsating sequenced/arppegiated bass rhythms. What followed these early experimental albums is now history. Good point made, thanks.
I started listening to electronic music since my dad brought back LPs of kraftwerk from Germany in mid 70's. When he saw I was interested, showed me LPs of early moog and have been hooked since then.
You're young.

keep beating man. respect :)
Still going strong in 2024!
I always wondered what those scientists were up to in Antarctica.
Lol
LOOOL
:)) lol :D
finally confirmed, aliens in Antarctica not an utterly myth
HHAHHAHAHAH
I keep waiting for a 100 year old mom opening that door and yelling TURN THAT DOWN THE NEIGHBORS ARE CALLING THE POLICE
LOL .... these two guys spend all they ever made on synth gear! No funds left to get their own place LOL
I'm 62 and this is aboslutely brillient. These guys can teach todays kids so much. Long live analogue
Yes long live ANALOG ! But you are 63 now, so no more long live for you ! 😜
@@gertjanvandermeij4265 bruh xd
@@gertjanvandermeij4265Damn, the disrespect.
Wow. It's March ,2023. This could have been written yesterday. This more than holds it's place in the test of time. I love this!
I keep coming back to this masterpice. It is amazing to see this moment in the studio happening 🎉
it's a shlamma!
"Хьюстон, у нас проблема! Пульт управления космическим кораблём кто-то переоборудовал в чумовую музыкальную установку!" =)) Это просто офигенно!!!
Such amazing skills. Clearly a life form too advanced to be from Earth.
Thy have the iss i have the mir 🤣
11 years ago...and still the best analog session I ever seen ...Genius
The beauty of analog electronic music. Very spiritual.
Thank you CZcams brain for recommending this out of the blue
I am more into trance and progressive, but I gotta say this is the real analog electronic music :)
They seem to enjoy what they do, and that's the most important imo!
This should be mandatory viewing for all the dubstep/trap/brostep "producers" in the world. Melodies, arpeggios and progressions that last more than 2 bars and actually have some structure to them. This is a masterclass in how to play electronic music. This is genuinely wonderful!!!!
stop gatekeeping music lmao, just fuck off
@@bigmanlizard7326 How is this gatekeeping?
Actually very short patterns but they know how to prolong it... which is what real electronic music is about.
@@idealfather3547 Aye, true. The patterns themselves aren't long, but they are masterful in using filtering to draw them out, and that melodic hook that comes in about 2:25 is just gorgeous. I love the portmanteau-heavy lead accents on the Wasp as well, they add a lot of interest without being obtrusive. It's superbly played, though it does induce some very serious synth envy...
@@TheHatMusic i agree. This is great music and a lesson in how to build a track.
The new album by The Analog Session is coming soon. May 11, 2015
Label: Hot Elephant Music Title: "Black Ground"
Alexander Robotnick EXCELLENT !
how do i get a copy ? "i just gotta have it !!!"
Alexander, can you show live tutorial of the composition and or synths used for ,problemes,? i always heard that as a kid and now adult trying to figure out that awesome sequence....tight bass notes....the song from national lampoon ,european vacation, when chevy chase is in the strip club? also do you get royalties from that film sync license?
Keep up the good work lads.
Cheers Alexander, will stick that on my list :)
"You don't have any interests that might disturb the other tenants do you?" "Nah..."
I love this so much, I'm perpetually coming back to this video and becoming dancing a synth burglar in my own home myself.
Came yet again to this site to get my "fix".....this will be fresh in several hundred years, signs of a timeless masterpiece. Cheers.
And still in 2021this track grabs me by the throat. Tears in my eyes
2023 still!!
AMAZING session! I love that the track length is 8:08 too!
thats how music is done !
man, this is like finding hidden treasure on the beach, awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right Zip Snipe, I came to this site by accident, a good one too.
Звук чумовой.Молодцы дедЫ!
They probably have keyboards older than the kids dancing to their galactic beats. In their heads they're clearly still 27. Love it. ✌️😎
One of my favourite CZcams videos.... Ever!
2 old guys that can hack stuff together and build modules themselves to teach teens how to party... Yeah, got my vote! 🍻
Whoah I just stumbled on this. Fricking amazing! This is some true talent and some real music...really refreshing to see even though it's 13 years old.
This music - on self made equipment, and the awesome bass - and the rythm - keeps me coming back for more, again and again. Age is nothing - passion is everything!
... even the oscilloscope is throwing some shapes - wicked !!! 😎🎹👍🔊
ofc it is its a fucking oscilloscope
This is so fucking badass!!!!!!🤘 How have i never known about these sick analog beats?!! Perfection!!!!
2022, still slaps!
Sounds like heaven, and looks like 2 burglars in a cellar. Love it!
jakobole Looks more like freezing hell, probably to keep the electronics in tune.
Even 10 years later this blows my mind, and it will probably be that way for the rest of my life :)
Exactly
Yeah, me too. I feel sorry for people who don't like techno music. I just can't understand how it doesn't sound awesome to them. Something is wrong with the way they think.
I'm honestly thinking that this people are the proper creators of legendary electronic music... I love techno house (old stuff), but what this guys created that day should be an example for all the DJ s on this Planet. That's how the music should be created and honoured.
Um... serously? Electronic music - and its creators - are a LITTLE BIT older than 2009. That is, in case you were unaware of people like Vangelis, Tomita, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Larry Fast, Keith Emerson, and Wendy Carlos who were doing it in the previous millenium. ^_^
Это уже не музыканты, а операторы электрооборудования ))))))) Класс!!! Спасибо огромное!!!
инженеры-электрики
Да, это называется sound engineer
Welcome to the roots of trance.
I must agree with this comment, and wow, today is 2019 !
Robotnick started in the early 80s so you're literally right
I believe that is ACID style, not Trance music.
@@PhilBrinkle I believe you can call it whatever you feel like, - Its electronic music,
this is minimal techno - if you like this music, search on youtube for extrawelt
Looking at this vintage equipment and with what feeling these guys play it, there is a feeling that they enjoy immersion in the 70s, 80s and 90s when they created such music in their youth.
We are always young when we do things that had been carried through our lives. Like this!
Thank you for your kind comment. Add also the 70s to the list..ah ah I'm 69 now
@@AlexanderRobotnick you are the kind of person here that i aspire to be. this is the kind of music i love. it reminds me of “the falling mysts” by dimrain47 a bit, have you heard that?
@@AlexanderRobotnick It's been 4 years since this comment, I hope you're doing well sir!
I never get tired of this.
Good to see these old dudes can still rock.
today I realized I was old, when two old codgers messing about with analog gear, making oldschool psytrance, 11 years ago reminds me of when I was young.
I'm lost --- this isn't Doo-Wop ?
hahhahahha. the fucking same!
If you were young 11 years ago, you`re not old ;)

Love the 'Wasp' to the left - my first synth back in the 70's :o)
I just looked one up on ebay. 2500 € is quite a price for the super rare original. Although there is a DYI-Kit to build an affordable replica of the Wasp named Jasper. With some electronic components especially made for this kit but the Jasper kits are mostly sold out too. Could you recommend Jasper? I think i understand enough from soldering and electronics so that i could manufacture these with proper schematics.
@@keinunvergebenesaliasgefunden Behringer released a clone of the wasp recently, runs about €300 new.
Never too old to create great dance music and enjoy doing it! This is still my number one favorite modular synth video after 11 years!
Wonder in space! Very Amazing!
Alexander Robotnick is one of my favorite electronic musicians. Right up there with Plastikman, Morton Subotnick, The Orb, and Alvin Curran. Well done. Love this and all your videos. Thanks for uploading. LOVE the video changing what we see, the close-ups of the equipment, etc. Marvelous.

Mother of god. That is animal! This is most definitely the best sounding/produced electro I have ever heard, Unreal.
What the fuck do you mean by "electro"?! Just throwing random words around?
I think the definition of "Electro" as a genre of music doesn't fit too bad (for those still using wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro_(music) ) but this work here is very iconographic, it could define its own genre.
While I agree what Robotnick does is a borderline new style, this is not electro. As a general rule, if it ain't syncopated, it most probably isn't electro.
