  • I’m on a tailbone length hair growth journey. It took awhile for me to build a routine and stay consistent. But by doing so, I will reach my goal this year. And since length retention is the game, stay tuned to the end where I do my monthly length check to see how much I grew and retained. So welcome to a typical WEEK IN MY HAIR

    Hey girl! All of your tips are amazing:) I've been struggling with my ends throughout my natural hair journey. They prevent me from detangling properly, sectioning my hair, and etc. Even if I trim my ends, they revert right back to being knotty but that's probably bc I'm not consistent with trimming lol. But I was wondering if you have any tips to prevent breakage and taking care of hair ends in general:)

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  Před 4 měsíci +1

      it depends on the type of breakage. if the hair dries out then that cause breakage. deep conditioning is going to be your best friend when trying to prevent breakage in this case. gotta keep it moisturized and hydrated. and seal that in with an oil of your choice. do you know your hair's porosity?

      Anyhow I like your method but I’m concerned about wetting the hair and then just leaving it to dry in its plaited state.
      But my hair is so thick and hard to wash, I have to do it in many sections and I’m tired of it. If there’s a way to do it more efficiently like what you do I’d want to try it. @SharatiaBanks  Před 3 měsíci

      I understand all too well! And no, I haven’t experienced any breakage. Everyone’s hair is different, but I think the reason that’s said is because we typically have extensions/added hair in our hair braids. My hair won’t break in plaits is because there’s nothing weighing it down or creating tension. It’s just my hair. Hey!!!! And YESSSSSSSSS I just started taking msm again. It’s been probably about 1 month since. But I take it in pill form now. There’s also msm in the liquid vitamins I take too.

      @@SharatiaBanks thanks I’ll look into the liquid msm. I’m 5 weeks into taking the powder and it’s really helping with my joints. Not sure if it’s time to give it a break but I’m worried I won’t be able to move around without it plus my job is very demanding. Girl I’m following you every step of the way 😭I’m also taking Mary Ruth’s vitamins lol

    How did you learn how to take care of your hair

    • @SharatiaBanks
      @SharatiaBanks  Před 3 měsíci

      a little bit of Research and Trial and error. I started off slow with my routine. Had to find something that worked for me knowing who I am. I’m sort of a lazy natural meaning I’m not tryna do the most with anything from maintenance to styling. So I keep it simple. I found products that worked for my hair type (porosity and thickness) but I bought them separately as to not overwhelm and so I can see if I truly like it. Basically lol
