35 mm is best versatile lense with good background blur effect and best for video also..50 mm is disaster for crop senasors sometime in tighter places. Go for 35 mm if you have crop sensor.
@A8 was LOVE yes you will get sufficient blur at what you specified...But I will suggest trying someone’s lense is better option...

Very nicely explained with practical demonstration. One of the best photography channel. It will be helpful if you can demonstrate how the image background changes with aperture. I have a question- All 3 images clicked with 35mm, 50mm and 85mm respectively with same aperture value? Can you please share the settings of all the images which will help us to compare all 3 lenses in a better way.

When someone wants to shot wide picture like, landscape. Then they use 35 mm lense. And when they want to click portrait then they use 85mm or 50mm

ONLY WITH FULL FRAMED CAMERAS 35mm consider as wide angle it's good for taking pictures of building and all, 50mm is the best for street photography and 85mm is for potrait and product photography

Why are the photos taken by 85mm lens are dull in comparison to the other ones. The guy's hoodie looks brighter in the photos taken by the 50mm & 35mm lenses. Any explanation?

Hi sir kunal. I have a problem may be because of setting. plz guide me how to fix it. i just bought canon 750d used camera with 50mm 1.8 prime lens. problem is i am using single focus point (one shot). in Manual mode through eyeview finder once compose and recompose the exposure getting change even the shutter is already half pressed. i am not releasing the shutter. for example focus point in center. i compose between eyes now recompose so face will be on upper half and center point at chest so reading will change means its either become under expose or over expose. what i know if the shutter button half pressed the reading locked right? plz correct me if i am wrong. or if there is something wrong with setting. actually last 6 years i used nikon. so i am new user for canon. plz help. tnx
