The amount of time this video would have taken to edit. I would not have the patience to do all this. Huge massive amount respect to Cary.
One thing I loved about the papers, no matter where I paused, you always did something interesting that day. Even if it was small. Called up your friends, went to see a movie, helped your dad with a python script, uploaded a TWOW episode, learned some Japanese. You fit so much into those 8 years. Well done and fantastic project.
For those who are camera-shy, I've been keeping a spreadsheet since 2019 where I log what I've been doing every half-hour of every day into one of 15 categories, with some space to optionally write down some thoughts for that day. Hey Cary, I'm almost 2 years into my own daily photo timelapse project, and just... wow. The effort put into this is so far and beyond what most other people do. First off the alignment is spot on, and especially impressive given no completely obvious reference points to align from. Doing whole top body shots as well, would put so much more effort into needing to take the photo each day. Even just a consistent smile, I ended up having to near frown in all my photos, since its the most consistent face I could muster. And then most obviously the cards, they're amazing. All the key info, sweet personal anecdotes to look back on, and some world news. I can't even imagine how much harder that all made it to take the photo each day, yet you pulled it off flawlessly! The best I managed to do on that front was a date in the corner added in editing lmao. And that's just half of it, all the stuff on the side, from the visual timeline to the world's pop-culture is amazing, and I'll probably do a version of it myself when I hit a decade, so thank you for the idea! Also I certainly agree, photos with friends are by far the best to look back on. Anyways, sorry that rambled on, just wanted to appreciate how awesomely you've put this all together!
when u mentioned the medely of the popular songs of that time and when I rewatched them I was just in awe.. everyone who was apart of this project deserve the praise!
oh my god cary this is a feat to behold. I'm seriously impressed with the pure quantity of stats and info for every single frame of this 10 minute vid. incredible work.
this is incredible in classic cary fashion. As a nerd who thinks about a lot of things like this, you inspire me. Keep up the awesome stuff man. I've been keeping a digital diary myself and am on day 1,077 today, I believe.
What an incredible accomplishment! Keep it up, this is something you'll be so grateful to be able to look back on in the future, if not already. (Also, pretty cool to see the card we met irl)
*FUN FACT* at 3:13 ✨ 2017 September 9th, after Cary and I hung out, he had 20 chicken nuggets from McDonalds and proceeded to have the worst stomachache and had to stay at my place for the night to rest up.💀it was memorable to say the least xD
Amazing that you stuck with this for so long! Also, not sure if anyone else noticed, but I love that the melody in the background changes depending on the time! Incredible job
This one truly hits different, I still remember watching episodes of TWOW afterschool when I was in primary school (2015-16) Then throughout 6 years of secondary carykh has always been the channel I came back to every once in a while Now I'm less than 2 days away from going to another continent for university (studying computer science!!!) Thanks cary for all the amazing content that I grew up with :D
I really liked how you included what was going on with the world on the right hand side, and the amount of time you kept up the paper was insane, I couldn’t imagine. You’ve come a long way!
I am writing my college apps right now and have no real idea what the future holds so this video relates a lot with me. You also do programming and robotics which is kind of cool. it's crazy you cataloged the different events and stuff. You must have developed some crazy code to make this project work. Your work is inspiringman. Keep up the good work!
What makes this fun is pausing on specific dates that are special to you or other people, like your birthday or on Christmas and just seeing what stuff they did on that day. It’s really cool how they actually wrote out every single thing they did for (almost) 8 years. It’s also really tempting to pause on bits where their clothing changes drastically like when it goes from a shirt to a suit and tie, makes you really wonder what they did on that day. Plus the dedication to do something like this baffles me, I’d probably stop on the 2nd day because I love procrastinating and I hate writing, really cool vid!
As someone who's had a daily diary for 4 years now, I'm always glad to see other people having their own life long project. At least for me, this diary has been exceedingly important and has given my life quite a bit more meaning than before. I hope it did so too for you carykh and for everyone else who has something like it. Oh, and if you think that doing things like this is hard, then yeah, it's kind of tough, but once you get used to it, you won't notice it that much. Definetly try it, it took me 3 tries to actually get going with my diary, as the first 2 stopped after a month.
@@arjunlagoon2015 Depends on the the timeframe. When I first started, I wrote around 100 words, sometimes much less if I didn't have much to say. Over time, I got more used to it and the word count increased. Around 1.5 years in, I think, I reached an average of 400 words, which has been the average ever since, though, it fluctuates a lot, as some days will be 200 and others will be 1000.
I can't believe writing down what happened in a day has become part of his daily routine for 8 years straight!!! I would stick to a routine for 3 months at the most.
LEGENDARY i’ve been watching your content since 2013 and you and michael continue to inspire me to this day with your creativity and dedication :0 may the cube keep rolling
Why does this feel like I’m playing a clicker game and his voice is every Ascension/Rebirth. Mostly cause of that sub, vid, and view count at the bottom right.
This video was amazing. Your note cards for each day were great, keeping that up must've taken a lot of effort. I'm currently a senior at Campolindo, and it's so cool to see that some of the teachers are still here these days
bro this is insane, i've been doing this daily photo thing for about 100 days already and i can tell you that you are very dedicated to even write papers and having entire folders about it, plus all the details and such, pretty amazing. I like your algodoo videos, they are part of my childhood and have been an inspiration for my own personal projects. greetings from Uruguay :)
Being born in march of 1997 myself, it is super interesting to me seeing how well days matched up in the beginning with a lot of my life events. As well as watching the similarities slowly diverge over time as I got older and we took different paths. I haven't thought about the past in a while so it led to some good reflection and nostalgia. I feel like you have a great outlook on life, and I wish I had cherished the things I had more growing up. Never too late to start I guess. :D

1:02 "went to Boomers for senior ditch day" has a very different meaning nowadays! In 2015 it probably meant "students in last year of high school go on an excursion to a 'Boomers parks' amusement park", in 2022/2023 it sounds like you went to the improvised shelter of homeless old people born 1946-1964 to mock them. :D
I might even do this awell, you are very inpersational and you were my favourite since I started subscribing in like 2017 or something. Keep up the awesome videos!
Was super interested when I saw you work on one of the papers in person - very cool seeing all the progress!! 💚 & I relate with your feeling at the end with not feeling like you've lived the day until you've taken a pic, have had the same feeling ever since I started journaling! must be a common thing :O
Interesting idea for another video, maybe: Use a face morph software on these photos. I did it for my son's 2 years daily photo project and it looked "interesting" (if you don't mind it being a little uncanny 😂). Btw, i love the in sync info panel! I'd love to know if you automated that in some way, or did it manually 😱
Absolutely beautiful video, it’s very hard to commit to such a lifetime scaled project, but you did it! Also is it weird that the thing that excites me the most is that I can finally see Jacknjellify’s daily subscriber growth since sub counts are abbreviated?
I started doing this same thing 7 months ago, with no card unfortunately and in my room to make things easy. I've missed a couple days here and there but I've tried not to beat myself up over it. It's been really fun and I can't wait to see how long I can go with it!

This is honestly amazing. I'm doing the same thing, have been for about 2 months now, but it's crazy that you stuck with this for 8 years
when u mentioned the medely of the popular songs of that time and when I rewatched them I was just in awe.. everyone who was apart of this project deserve the praise!
wow it takes amazing dedication to do something like this! youre awesome cary :)
oh my god cary this is a feat to behold. I'm seriously impressed with the pure quantity of stats and info for every single frame of this 10 minute vid. incredible work.
I love how he always smiles in every photo.
This is just- amazing! I love that there were the latest headlines in almost every card!
this is incredible in classic cary fashion.
I love the fact that you put so much information in your videos, it makes them even more interesting to watch!! :]
this video has mad effort in it. I could stop any frame and see a new story about a new day in your life. truly amazing. damn.
*FUN FACT* at 3:13 ✨
2017 September 9th, after Cary and I hung out, he had 20 chicken nuggets from McDonalds and proceeded to have the worst stomachache and had to stay at my place for the night to rest up.💀it was memorable to say the least xD
Hi
Nice
Amazing that you stuck with this for so long!
Also, not sure if anyone else noticed, but I love that the melody in the background changes depending on the time!
Incredible job
End of 2019: impending doom music…
the fact that you keep the happy smile in every photos really impresses me
I can’t even believe that it has been 2 years since BFB 16 came out. I remember it like it was yesterday.
This one truly hits different, I still remember watching episodes of TWOW afterschool when I was in primary school (2015-16)
Then throughout 6 years of secondary carykh has always been the channel I came back to every once in a while
Now I'm less than 2 days away from going to another continent for university (studying computer science!!!)
Thanks cary for all the amazing content that I grew up with :D
Good luck in your travels!
Oh man you all make me feel old watching TWOW when my first baby was just born and now I have three lol.
Good luck that sounds so cool!
more like kevinxiekh
This is absolutely insane. Congrats on 8 years!
Looking at all the papers will take me a long time…
i love that they all have day descriptions
I really liked how you included what was going on with the world on the right hand side, and the amount of time you kept up the paper was insane, I couldn’t imagine. You’ve come a long way!
I didn't expect cary to also have one of those in the works!!! :)
Its so cool that you managed to go to stamford and own a big youtube channel at the same time!
Just wondering, How much did you write for your diary? As in for every page not the whole diary.

I love how the bg music matches with a recent top song
I can't believe writing down what happened in a day has become part of his daily routine for 8 years straight!!! I would stick to a routine for 3 months at the most.
wtf this needs to blow up, the effort to do this for 8 years omfg
For real.
LEGENDARY
i’ve been watching your content since 2013 and you and michael continue to inspire me to this day with your creativity and dedication :0 may the cube keep rolling
This Is A Certified Hood carykh Classic!
Why does this feel like I’m playing a clicker game and his voice is every Ascension/Rebirth. Mostly cause of that sub, vid, and view count at the bottom right.
That’s incredible Cary! Doing this for 8 years shows incredible dedication and motivation! Props to you bro and congrats!
I didnt even know bout this project but this is genuinely amazing and the fact that you did this for 8 years straight is so unbelievable!!!
So fun! I feel like watching frame by frame so I can read each day's happenings. Great project!
The dedications is something to admire!
No kidding!
I love the little note/comment for every day, I hope your hot water is still working
A whiteboard might be a better idea than paper, unless you do want to keep all the paper, for your memories
amazing. that is all i need to say. to do this daily for 8 years is some serious dedication.
the consistency of this man's smile is intimidating
The fact that you wrote daily news and a bunch of other info is nuts this is great its a watchable time capsule I hope you keep it going
It is a little weird to see you smiling while holding news of car bombings and train crashes though.
True
7:28 Aww, no special paper for the the day 2763?
It should've been a 2,763 day timelapse in honor of bfdi characters saying it
I might even do this awell, you are very inpersational and you were my favourite since I started subscribing in like 2017 or something. Keep up the awesome videos!
I see us in New Orleans!! ❤
Hallo kae
I remember that vacation, it was so much fun to hang out with friends in the French Quarter! (For those curious, it was Jul 1, 2021)
Kae is here early :O
Was super interested when I saw you work on one of the papers in person - very cool seeing all the progress!! 💚 & I relate with your feeling at the end with not feeling like you've lived the day until you've taken a pic, have had the same feeling ever since I started journaling! must be a common thing :O
Hi!!!!
And I love you video
I blinked and I almost missed half of this guys life
i blicked
Did anyone notice the 4th box on the side? It’s blurred out I wonder what it could be.
Interesting idea for another video, maybe:
Use a face morph software on these photos.
Mad respect for stabilizing all of the photos so they are all seamless, That prob took him more hours than to make this entire video 💀
6:04 You really thought you could sneak the Among Us theme in there huh?
Damn, seems like just yesterday Cary was pumping out twow videos and being like
"I'm 18 now so I'm basically an adult :D"
also him saying "I'm 7000 days old today"
I notice that one thing never changed…
His smile
Carykh, do you remember Algicosathlon Day 1? it's almost been *10 Years Anniversary* come back NOW!
