How to replace the water outlet on Chevy Sonic. Driver-side coolant leak. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
You might be able to check coolant temp with a scan tool and/or a multimeter temp probe
My wife has the 1.8l sonic and that thing is AWFUL. It’s a 2015 that we bought brand new that’s been babied. It has 50k miles (she hates driving it). I have replaced the valve cover twice. Thermostat housing, blend door actuator 3 times, ignition coils. The battery gets changed yearly because they somehow keep swelling and cracking. It gets stuck in 2nd when getting on the highway, and shakes like a chihuahua with a caffeine addiction. It also struggles starting when it starts to get above 75 degrees. The radio went out in 2018 so we haven’t had any chimes or indicator sounds since. It was at the dealer CONSTANTLY its first 2 years of life for issues. Oh and the paint started fading practically as soon as it left the lot (it’s a common issue for the grey color) and we were told it’s because we weren’t washing it properly which is insane as I just used soap and water and a sponge, same thing I’ve done on all my cars since I was a teenager and never had issues. The sonic is the WORST vehicle I have driven in my life. I will never miss an opportunity to talk about how bad this cancer on wheels really is. 0/10 never buying a GM vehicle again
glad to know it lives up to it's reputation...
This is the same engine used in the Cruze. I replaced my plastic water outlet with an aluminum one.
That’s a great mod, I did the same!

I own a chevy sonic and Trax; those plastic water necks don't last, the aluminum ones are much better, also replacing the plastic Ts in the system. if you can get rid of weak plastic coolant parts, the vehicles are pretty solid. I've got over 200K on my sonic.
i had a 2014 cruze with that 1.4 and i put 150k city miles on it full romp all the time before i sold it and it still ran mint when i sold it and i gave it hell
will have to start getting the aluminum ones thanks!
Unfortunately, I have replaced lots of plastic thermostat/outlet pipes. The material/design is just not durable enough in most applications.
You should look for their metal after market alternatives, they work way better
@@amirmograbi I do when they are available locally but, most customers don’t want to wait until next week to get their car back
when cars have a few different parts it can be the easy way is just calling the dealer with the vin and they can tell u so u save time and aggravation trying to figure out what one it is out of the 3-4 options
I did my plugs and wires at AutoZone in Rockville MD today was 77.00 total can't afford it much cause I live in my van but I had to get it done cause of erratic idling and way it would start when cold now it runs like a champ
good to hear
I would never swap a constant pressure clamp for a worm clamp. Unless it was completely rusted or non functional. Thanks for the videos.
Anytime I get a car with a plastic housing I look for a aftermarket aluminum one
I have that camera love it
Ive snappped those coolant lines one time on a friend's car, easy fix tho
I own a sonic, have to check coolant level weekly and hunt down any leaks.
Try doing a radiator on one
must be fun...
Did you see the Deboss Garage video 11 days ago?
no what'd he say? i'll have to check
@RoadsideRescue didn't say nothing about you. He had a Bad Ass bread truck like yours:)
2020 Jeep Renegade is absolute garbage by comparison to my 1999 Honda CRV
Never call your customers Automobile Junk....
so lie to customers to protect their feelings... got it.
