Chuck was an amazing person. He lived with my sister for 2 years in California while writing the songs for "Scream Bloody Gore". We have so many great memories of the time he spent there. My sister was also the manager of the official Possessed fan club and interviewed many of the bands in the Bay Area underground scene for her fanzine "Metal Injection". My sister passed in Dec 2014 and I like to imagine her and Chuck together somewhere making some new memories together. RIP and love you both very much!

Generally he was a great guy. He did however have moments where he was extremely stubborn when it came to certain musical ideas. He also quit multiple tours over in Europe because he just didn't want to continue on or was too stressed out. While understandable, as long as you're able, you finish the tour. You don't just give up and leave your bandmates and crew without a frontman. That also leads higher ups in the touring industry to not want to work with you because you can't finish what you start.
I'm not not talking down on Chuck. Everyone has their weaknesses and for people who are as genius and influential as he was, it is often a struggle. There is a documentary about Death and Chuck which I would recommend. It has a pretty accurate view of him.

I write comic book scripts, and I always listen to certain Death songs to set the mood for a lot of what I’m going to write ( action wise). I never met him personally. I didn't get even close to it. But I miss him more than I miss my friends. I just wish (I think a lot of people does) that he was still alive and well. R.I.P. mastermind.
