  • Welcome to our informative video where we explore the fascinating topic of calcific tendonitis and its non-invasive treatment options. Calcific tendonitis occurs when calcium deposits build up in a tendon, causing pain and limited mobility. But fear not! In this visual guide, we will delve into the causes, symptoms, and most importantly, the effective ways to treat calcific tendonitis without resorting to invasive surgery.
First, we'll uncover the underlying causes of calcific tendonitis, discussing how lifestyle factors and repetitive motion can contribute to its development. Next, we'll outline the common signs and symptoms to help you identify this condition in yourself or others.
But the real highlight of this video lies in the diverse treatment methods that do not involve surgery. Describing the procedure called Ultrasound-Guided Barbotage.
    What is Ultrasound-Guided Barbotage Procedure?
The Ultrasound-Guided Barbotage Procedure is an innovative and minimally invasive treatment option offered at the Institute of Regenerative Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic in Fort Lauderdale, led by renowned sports medicine specialist Dr. Jorge A. Gonzalez. This procedure provides a targeted and precise approach to address a condition known as calcific tendonitis.
Calcific tendonitis occurs when calcium deposits form within a tendon, leading to pain, inflammation, and limited mobility. With ultrasound guidance, Dr. Jorge A. Gonzalez and his team can accurately locate these deposits and perform the barbotage procedure with utmost precision.
During the procedure, a thin needle is inserted into the affected tendon under ultrasound guidance. The needle is used to deliver a fluid into the calcium deposit, breaking it up into smaller fragments that allows for smooth removal. This allows the body to naturally heal the tendon over time, promoting healing and reducing symptoms.
The benefits of the ultrasound-guided barbotage procedure are numerous. It is a minimally invasive alternative to surgical intervention, offering quicker recovery times and less post-procedure discomfort. By directly targeting the calcium deposits, this procedure provides a more focused and effective treatment option.
At the Institute of Regenerative Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic in Fort Lauderdale, Dr. Jorge A. Gonzalez and his skilled team employ the latest advancements in ultrasound technology and medical expertise to provide patients with personalized and effective care. If you are suffering from calcific tendonitis, consider exploring the benefits of the ultrasound-guided barbotage procedure and regain your mobility and quality of life.

Why don’t doctors also explain this condition is likely to eventually heal on its own? The body eventually reabsorbs the calcium. If the calcium is in the tendon, they have to fix the tendon. It’s no different than rotator cuff surgery at that point.

Just went for cortisone shot after severe pain this week. Dr did explain these techniques. Wondering what influences the success of the lavage technique. Like before it's a certain size or whether it's floating debris or attached

Speaking from experience, yes, you do. I just had it done and they were not able to break up the calcification or get a lot out. The only were able to obtain peripheral areas. I have to go back in three months time and have it done again. It is extremely painful.
