This is a long term strategy which is obvious but when you are starting with no audience this is difficult to achieve. We would like you, if possible, to show us effective launching strategies that will help us get off the ground. Thank you !
All these youtubers make it sound so easy to make money with low content books but marketing them alone is a full time job! Thanks for keeping it real 💯
Thank you 🙏
I have been researching low-content books, but there is no clarification on how these CZcamsrs in low-content books achieve sales. This is one video that nipped that mystery in the bud. Thank you very much.
You're welcome. Glad you found it helpful.
This is an EXCELLENT video. This is the approach I plan to take: make only a few KDP books, but make them in-depth, highly niched, and robust. Then market the heck out of them via everything mentioned in this video: website, Facebook, Instagram, CZcams, Twitter, Pinterest. I believe in quality over quantity. I want to build engagement and relationships with my customers. I would rather sell over and over again to a few repeat customers than to a bunch of random people. If we take our KDP business seriously as a *business* then marketing is 90% of the battle. Thank you, Paul, for the valuable content!
That sounds a great plan. 👍👍
Agreed!
Updates?
How did it go? Do you have any advice? thank you in advanced!:)
Yes Author Page is a must! I am trying to create my own these days. Because an Amazon KDP suggest every kdp seller to do that. Thanks again for sharing your ideas with us.
Fritzen Publishing LLC ownes the Jade Summer brand... but even so, still great marketing advice, Paul. Marketing is very important for any business.
Fritzen Publishing, LLC is owned by Jade Summers. :)
I have not seen one of your videos yet where I haven’t learned something valuable. This one is no different. Thank you for always sharing relevant information in an easy-to-understand presentation!!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Thanks for always creating such great insightful videos. Also love the fact that you live on a boat!
Thank you 🙏
Good ideas, which I have already implemented them all, but he emphasizes audience engagement which I will focus more on. Thanks!
You are the greatest. Love this strategy. I will apply on my own future books.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you I really needed this:)
So helpful as always, Paul. Thank you.
You're welcome. Glad you found it helpful.
Yes I looked them up and of course it helps to have a marketing team to keep up with all that social media!!
Indeed it would.
thank you Paul ..ur videos are super informative
we want a video on how to create author central page.
Thanks so much for sharing!
You’re welcome 👍
Great video Paul!🔥
Thank you 🙏
Thank you, Paul for this video!
My pleasure!
Merci beaucoup Paul ! Je serais très intéressée par une vidéo sur la création de la page Auteur 😊
great advice as usual ! thanks
You’re welcome. Glad you found it useful.
Oh some great ideas here. Thanks so much Paul...I have a lot to do.
You're welcome. Thank you for watching.
such great content!!!! Keep it up
Thank you. 👍
Man thank you for your guidance ☺️
My pleasure!
Thank you paul for this video, It's very valuable. Please do a video about the amazon central page.
It’s coming up soon.
Goodness! No sales for months. Thank you for the information. I will work on it.
Hi from Canada!!! Really, your videos on kdp are awesome and I learn a lot from them!! If I could I would give you a million thumds up! Kind regards!!
That’s very kind of you. Thank you.
Your videos are valuable thank you.
You're welcome. Glad you've found them useful.
Wow, you even got the WP theme. Love this info. I've had a few sales from Pinterest. I love the idea of people submitting their pages for engagement also creating a website. Hmmm....lots of ideas is this video!
Yes. It’s just a case of implementing which is the challenge!
Jade Summer is a brand owned by a publishing house, but they certainly give the impression that this is an individual (except if you read their author central page closely).
Yes, that’s correct.
Great video!
Thank you 🙏
That shirt looks good on you! - Excellent video, thank you.
Thank you!
thank you!
Great video guide Captain Paul.
How create author central page ?
Great video Paul 😍
Could you make a video on how to create author central page..?
Will do.
@@paulmarles yes
Paul you inspired me to create my own journals and Im very new to this. I would like to know how to do an Amazon Central aurthor page. I would like to learn more. Thank you
Hi Captain, excellent video, could you please make a video of authors page and specify how to make an author page for each pen names please. Keep rockin
Will do 👍
I would love to watch a video that you make about how to create an Author Central page!
I've already done one. Just search on my channel page.
So insightful , would love to see a video on how to open a author center page pls
Here is a previous video I've done on that: czcams.com/video/gbT-GtVNaiQ/video.html
Another fantastic video, thanks Paul. Did you create the Author Central Page video by any chance? I'd be interested to look at that in more depth. Thanks again for all your amazing content.
Here is the video I did on that: czcams.com/video/gbT-GtVNaiQ/video.html
Awesome, thank you so much 🌟
Thanks so much for all your great content! I would love to know how to add your KDP Journals to your website?
Which website?
Mr. Marles, thanks for sharing! It helps to hire "multiple artists" as stated in their coloring books. Designing takes so much time & the little details matter in creating any book. How are your sales in Japan? Their interactive notebooks are 1000 times better than KDP...seriously. Manga does well in Japan.
I sell some but it’s a tiny fraction of my overall sales.
Yes, please if you havent already. Create a video on author central page. Great content by the way.
Will do.
Hi Paul, great video. I’m new here. Can you please make a video on how to make a central page in Amazon. Thank you so much
Great video Paul! I have a question, If I find a really good niche with a keyword that has relatively low competition and high demand, how many books you would say should I produce with that keyword as the title? (Not the exact same interior, but just the same niche) Thankyou!
Depends on the niche. If it’s one keyword just one or two books.
Jade Summer is not 1 author, but a group of designers within a publishing house.
The thing most CZcamsrs etc fail to realize is 99% of these top selling books were put out pre covaid a few during Covid and hardly any after covid. Why do I say that? Look at dates published also saying that they been in system for year’s building up where they are. Now days you got so many people trying to turn a quick buck they are flooding market with subpar books. Which means it’s harder for good books to get sells. So those ones that were pre Covaid with tons of reviews and lots of sells will always be on top. Why? Because they are trusted.
This was very useful. Many thanks. I'm now in the process of promoting my books. Hope your advice helps.
Glad it was of use.
Hi Paul, thanks for the vid - You've given me some interesting take aways to think about and hopefully start applying, even though I'm just at the beginner stage. Yes, please do make a vid on the authors page, it'd be great to learn more about how we can optimize this with examples from pros and a checklist/stepping stones that newbies like me can follow. I also have a few ideas for other vid topics which it'd be great to hear your opinion on if you have time:
1) With 3 months to go until Christmas (ie, last call for submission to get your KDP Christmas themed book ranked), what are your top tips for maximising sales over Christmas? I'm guessing that there are more gift purchases - does this change your marketing strategy, cover choice or keywords etc in any way?
2) The demographics of low content book purchasers generally, ie location of most purchases, age, sex, socio-economic status, interests/other Amazon purchases. Is there info or a way that we can deduce this? Is this different for colouring books vs educational books etc. I can use my common sense to make assumptions based on what I see working for others, but it would be great to have some real data to work with if that exists somewhere? If not, then a game we can play to hone and test our eye would be great - I'm thinking something along the lines of the Wholesale Ted channels 'Do not sell these print on demand designs & products.. (Mistakes beginners make), but a bit less cheezey (sorry Sarah!)!
3) Tips and tricks you've learnt for keeping your files organised on your computer. Not a sexy topic I know, but still important. Keeping track of where content has come from (whether Vecteezy, Creative Fabrica, Fiverr, or created yourself etc) and the associated licensing agreements, original thoughts/inspiring images, page links, contacts and what/how that content has been used can be challenging, as can keeping track of receipts and different versions of designs...
Many thanks for all your videos sharing your knowledge and thoughts on KDP - I greatly appreciate it!
I’ll put those ideas on my list. Be careful not to overthink this business.
I would love a video on keeping content / design elements organized. Also workflow, check lists, to do lists, time management. The real nitty gritty of actually getting stuff done.
Hi Paul, I hope you are well I am very interested in a video where you explain everything related to the central author page of amazon, especially if it must be created with a name and surname or it can be created with the name of a brand ... Thanks for your support teacher.
I’ll put it on my list.
Author central page video please!
Here's a video I've done on that in the past which you may find helpful: czcams.com/video/gbT-GtVNaiQ/video.html
Hi Paul. Great info...new subscriber and fan here. Bit of an odd question....you mentioned about hosting being tax deductable...i think it would be useful just to do an overview video, on bookkeeping for kdp...as this will be (hopefully) my only source of external income other than my job. Not too indepth, just what is taxed, how much etc. i am in the UK
Reluctant to do a video on that as I'm not a tax adviser and everybody's situation is different. My advice is to discuss with an accountant so you get it right from the start.
Sir, Can you make a video for beginner please?
Hi Paul! Love your videos! I recently published a prayer journal (low/medium content) and I've shared it with friends and I'm trying to build up a social media following but realistically, how long would it take to really grow a following like the one that's featured in your video?
It would depend on so many factors. Platform your using. Number of potential followers. How you're buuilding and the amount of time and effort you're putting in. You're marketing and audience building skills. It took me 2 years to build this channel to the size it is. Realistically you're probably looking at a year approx but that is a guess.
@@paulmarles thank you so much that’s so helpful! I’ll definitely reframe my mindset. Thanks again!
I was enrolled in kdp select, and I want to stay but not sure how to schedule free promos in bulk, with 100+ books.
I also notice she has Amazon Affiliate links back to her books on Amazon too!
On CZcams?
Jade Summer is a brand owned by fritzen publishing llc
That’s correct.
Hi Paul, I love your videos. Great content you are providing. I do have a question about the Author Central account setup. Right now, I am working on the low content notebooks, journals, etc... However, later on, I would like to write my own books and publish them as well. How do I need to set up Author Central? Do I need to have 2 different Author Central accounts, one for low content and one for the books I will write and publish? Thanks again for the great information you provide us, newbies.
That’s entirely up to you. You can have them under one author name or do more than one.
@@paulmarles Thank you.
@@paulmarles I thought you can only have one Author Central account. Then you use that account for your different pen names.
when marketing your KDP book how do you pay the marketing fees? Do you pay as you go, like weekly or monthly? or is the fee taking out of your royalty payment?
Amazon ads requires a credit card and payment is taken approximately every 2 weeks.
Hi Paul. Do you do marketing for the books that you've published on amazon?
I sometimes run ads, and have a website, author cenral page, post on instagram and pinterest.
Hello, I want to know how to create a Cental Page. Thanks
Go to Amazon author central and just sign up.
Hey Paul, I am trying to find an Illustrator to do the content work for colouring books, and finding this is a huge cost, do you have any recommendations
Fiverr or Upwork are often good places to get illustrations at reasonable prices.
@paulmarles What camera do you use? Thank you.
Canon 200d.
Yes. I am looking into Central page right now. I just built a website. Nothing on it yet. I am wondering if I can put an Amazon banner on my website if I list a few items from other affiliations. I have purchased items from you and listen very carefully to your videos.
I just barely started low content books and most of them are still in review, but I feel like I am wasting my website, even though I have no traffic going to it. I am starting from the ground up. I have a family that needs me too. I have limited time but I squeeze in every minute.
I am working to get blogs and low content books going because I have a feeling my employer will give me a hard time because of the vaccine. I work for a hospital. Very liberal. It's my choice but employers can require it if they want. Like it or not.
Yes, you can put Amazon links on your website.
Your videos are so good. But please make videos for beginner.
I’ve got a playlist on book tutorials.
@@paulmarles I am a beginner. please sir, make videos A to Z. Thanks in Advanced
Do you have a Niche checklist?
A checklist of what I’m particular?
@@paulmarles Maybe I am over thinking this whole Niche research.. Researching a Niche.. Like BSR lower then 300k search results lower then 2000 and so on... I keep getting tripped on it.
is the book calculator in the Helium 10?
No, it's at tckpublishing.com
Paul this may be a dumb question. I am having trouble getting a clean screenshot of my books to post on my Instagram page. Is the best you can do to just use the snipping tool? Any suggestions? Thanks for everything that you do!
I just use the screenshot tool on a Apple device. I'm sure most screenshot tools will create images of sufficient quality.
@@paulmarles Thank you!
Geesh, is that coloring book author living on the Internet? How can she be maintaining all of those sites every day? Does she even sleep?
Hi captain .. 121's liker here 🙂 ..
Is it a good idea to put amazon affiliate links of own books in the web site ?
Yes. It could help earn extra revenue.
@@paulmarles many thanks captain .. good news!
For the next video.. How to create more than 3 pen names
You can create any number of pen names. Maybe I misunderstand what your asking?
You can create any number of pen names. Maybe I misunderstand what your asking?
You can create any number of pen names. Maybe I misunderstand what your asking?
Hate to burst anybody's bubble, but Jade Summer is a COMPANY. They steal coloring pages or use existing images to crank out huge numbers of coloring books and they surely have a budget to generate all of these likes and marketing... I wouldn't be surprised if they're stealing the colored pages, as well.
This isn't to say you can't do the same thing, but it is to say that it's a LOT harder when it's actually just one person doing all of this work verses a team...
It is but you could still just implement one or two fo the marketing strategies to begin with.
We can learn from them minus the stealing lol. Who's better to learn from than a well organized company?!
Thanks Paul M for using them as his example.
The thing with this company is that it is a company that employs artists and so has a lot of other expenses. Jade Summer is not an actual person, the company is Fritzen Publishing LLC - so I don't think this is a proper example, it would be more realistic to use an actual single person as an example.
The video is about marketing. The principles of marketing. They can still be applied to your own books.
Like in so many videos, you talk tooooo much instead of saying: NR 1: BLA BLA, NR 2: bla bla and get it over with. Noone wants to hear so much stuff that the main objective is gone.
