Tho' it was a cool story, it suffers heavily from a single mistake that effects everything, when it could've been so easily been avoided.
The time it's set into.
There's simply no way, that humans in this universe could be so ill equipped to b overrun like that.
They had experience of way over 500 years, fighting xeno's. Imagine an enemy invading now n after his initial surprize attack he launches human shocktroops that r equipped like from 1500.
The xenos are presebted as the biggest strength here while they actually should b the part, best known n therefore the weak link in this invasion
Their ability to act coordinated isn't new, it's just a queen usually doing that. Without the prioritized survival n groth of the hive as driving interest, they are not at all care 4 hostages n sacrifice themself even less efficiently. On top they don't b able to spread exponentially n won't morph into new queens either.
By all accounts they should pose less of a thread, not more.
Then there is wy. Of all people, those who try for CENTURIES to make xenos into bioweapons, would have had also invented countermessures. Before all else, there should've been a neutralizingg agent for their acid after all these years.
The cherry in top is, we know such stuff is aroung for centuries too, from the same reason we know that this xeno infestation shouldn't come even close to the worst, humanity has seen. It also puts on display the disregard for avp/alien lore that was originally a comic, ignoring that the whole idea of a shared franchise wouldn't exist without those comics as well as those wouldn't if not for the success of the alien n predator comics before 'em
Would they have placed it less far into the future, all that wouldn't b as much of an issue but humans are incredibly curious for knowledge even without a concrete aim.
The idea that with an urgent need for it n over 500+ years our whole species would've not found any viable solution to deal with xenomorphs is ridiculous n almost insulting.
