Everyone is a scientist: NO ONE IS USING BASIC PPE ON AN UNKNOWN ISLAND WHILE SURROUNDED BY UNIDENTIFIED CHEMICALS AND BIOLOGICAL AGENTS.

It started like an H.P. Lovecraft story, then turned quickly to something out of Aliens. Then with elements of both and an added touch of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Over all, not what I expected, but dammit Doc, props to the writer, and props to you! No one I've ever listened to on CZcams can deliver horror and Amazing Stories like you!

Unlike many stories of horror, this one has the whole universe thought out, scientifically and theoretical. Much enjoyed.
“This time, I ran. Not for my life... but for my death” is one of the best lines I’ve ever heard.
The ocean creepypastas are among my favorite type. The infinite unknown abyss of the ocean will always creep me out.
I live right next to the ocean, it's always creeped me out. You might as well be staring into space.
It's so huge and we're the size of ants next to it. It's easy to imagine that there's some leviathan horror lurking right beneath you and you'd never know it. It's truly scary.
It's like the fear of the dark, except in this case it's not irrational. Makes it scarier.

Cam C, there are a few good deep sea creepypastas that I have managed to find. I will take them from my list and type them here. However if you are looking for true deep sea horror, there aren’t many out there but will add them if I come across them.

I get the feeling those things might not actually be the creature‘s immune system, but rather some kind of infection that this thing has and has had for who knows how long, mutating in the isolated ecosystem of it’s body

I think he misidentified the creature and its actually a parasite living inside the crustacean which is why they can survive outside of the crustacean

That was a great story and so well read. My ears pricked up of course at your mention of my home country NZ. There are ruins of an ancient city in a deep trench in Cook strait between North and South Islands. And in the doco Under the Carpet there is evidence that ancient Egyptians sailed to NZ long before Maori arrived.

Whew! Well this was certainly imaginative! Enjoyable, and I was able to listen to it from start to finish all in one sitting. Usually I prefer at least one survivor to make it, otherwise how does the story get told? Well I suppose it doesn’t matter in the wake of destruction left behind from this “Live island”. Definitely well written, as said by many other comments aside from myself, and as usually flawlessly told by our personal Dr. I could go on for far too long about what intricacies I like about the entire tale but I’ll keep this one shorter than usual. To the great Dr., you spoil us! I personally truly enjoy the really long ones, (that sounded bad) as I usually have plenty of free time to enjoy them! This was no exception, but what really and truly gets me is the amount of effort that you put into this all while not missing a beat! Basically I realize the amount of work that you put in for us and I for one, think it’s fantastic. Hats off to you sir! I hope all is well with you and yours and thank you tremendously for your efforts for our entertainment. ☠️ Looking forward you next time!

Pretty good, but "It's a creature!" was the first thought I had with the mysterious "island" appearing. The leukocytes were an interesting idea, but the way they work outside the body with their miraculous burst of potency kinda made it feel lie the kind of thing you'd get from a bad D&D game, where the monster just gets more powerful for no in-story reason. Would have been much better without the epilogue.
I did like this story. But constructive criticism. Too much going on here. Almost too much imagination ideas for just one story. At least in my opinion. I prefer the island story "The lost colony of Isla Sirena" better.

What a great origin story for a zombie apocalypse!
Usually zombie stories focus on the outbreak and post apocalypse, but this one told the whole story leading up to it. This leaves a lot of potential for more building..
Will they nuke the whole island of Guam?
Also, the temple of Thanatos, what was the deal with that? Was it just a coincidence or a random item, or was the temple built in inspiration from them? If so, what does that mean? You'd assume contact with these things results in the collapse of a civilization, they'd never have time to build a temple for them.. it's an interesting thing to think about.
The is a sequel, but there is mention of suicide, and it’s worse than you can imagine.
This would make an excellent video game in the spirit of resident evil or dead space. It’s nearly 2 and I’m not done yet. Late night again, Doc.

It may not be relevant to this story but there’s an island about 300 miles off the south coast of India who claim sovereignty over it. However if anyone from the mainland or anywhere else for that matter try to visit the place the locals will kill them and that’s just their tough luck. There will be no investigations or arrests. They don’t want outsiders and the rest of the world gives them their space.
I love this story because it’s got a tsunami in it and if I have anything like a recurring nightmare it’s of one of those natural monsters.

@@lazarusrasputin5888 Yep I think that's how I learned about this insane island in the first place. If they happen to see you land your boat they bash your head in right on the beach. What they do with the bodies afterward is anyone's guess since no one's survived to tell. For some even crazier reason the Indian Navy heavily patrols the strait which separates the place from the mainland. If an island of legal murderers exists then that fact is even more mysterious. I get the hint. I don't want to visit their island with its humidity and its big bugs and the hatchet inevitably buried in my skull.

Top notch writing. You can immediately tell that. Narration still the gold standard of these channels. There is the Dr and Otis. Two different styles that represent excellence. I still think the Dr sounds like Sam Neill. Are we sure he isn't??? He could be sitting at his vineyard sipping his favorite drink while recounting these macabre tales.

Blue blooded animals are not unheard of. The Octopus family are all I believe blue and definitely copper based blood. Not sure about crustaceans but octopi are copper based for sure.
Horseshoe crabs do actually have copper-based blood, therefore making their blood blueish-green
