Our commander introduced us to the ACOG when Obama loosened the overall defense budget restriction. Needless to say we got brand new OCPs, boots, plate carriers, bipod fore grips, and yes the ACOG. He told us that these optics are indestructible, that was one of his many mistakes.
The big con for me is that you have to have your eye very close to the lens for the sight picture to look good. I would probably stick with an aimpoint red dot for that very reason
I looooooooove acogs my first I bought was a used ta01nsn that looked like Carol Baskin and tiger King had some wild times and out popped the acog dude ruined it with his first seracoat job pea green with gold tiger stripe I got it for $350 and rustoleumed it flat green now I have the ta31f-g and am going to spray paint it as well I collect them for non firing replicas that I build I'm still waiting to get my rights restored so till then it's toys for me and optics collecting

They are more indestructible than any other optic on the planet, I’d bet money on it. Aimpoint t2 is probably the only thing that comes close.
