I think the one star jacket looked closer to the drawing and the 5 star pants looked closer to the drawing. But loved both of the jackets.

The 5⭐ teddy bear was most probably bought in bulk & just sewn to the jacket. I like the 1⭐ actually following the teddy bear head as per sketch, but i would have made the heads myself using punch needle embroidery to match the jacket's furry texture.
Also surprised the 5⭐ jacket doesn't have ribbing at the sleeve ends & bottom of the body as per your sketch

Couldn’t agree more! Punch needle embroidery is a great idea, makes the cutest appliques! If they also would be filled with some wadding to be a bit 3Dish, the jacket would’ve been so neat. Also I would’ve made the jacket more like a bomber jacket since he asked for ribbing… 🤗

I'm a seamstress and you have no idea how good it made me feel when you said you understand you pay for time, skill, and materials when hiring someone for custom art! I've worked for 20 years to be able to do custom things for people, but they don't always want to pay!
The fact that they lined up the patterns through the pockets AND the fasten is 🤌🏻

The one star jacket was so much cuter than the other one and they stuck to the design better! From your drawing, the jacket material seemed fleecy so I think they nailed it!

Tbh I love the 1☆ one. It's cute! The 5☆ is also super cute but the white bears on the white jacket just seems a bit boring to me. If they would have been brown it would be even better! 😍 but I definitely would love it and probably buy it if you'd sell the design
I like both outfits but the 1 star jacket looks more like the drawing. I’m actually surprised that the 5 star one knew you’d want 3D bears when it’s not common and wasn’t specified.

I totally agree with you, I like the second jacket better. I think it's really really cute. The idea of three-dimensional teddy bears was really strange! And did not match the drawing at all.
@@sabrinadwyer39413D teddy heads would’ve been adorable, just make appliques and before sewing the last bit of the seam fastening it, stuff it with poly filling, then sew shut. A very fun way to make appliques more unique and fun!
Both jackets are adorable! I personally like the 5 star pants and the 1 star jacket best! The 5 star seamstress stuck to the design of the pants very well but with the Jacket not so much they used full teddy bears and you only asked for faces while the 1 star seamstress stayed with your original design very well when making the jacket but disregarded the pattern of the pants. Either way both designers did a better job than I ever could. I would have used a hot glue gun and glued teddy bear patches to my fluffy jacket and called it a day 🤣

It’s like there 5star went with a jacket that was already made and just added full body bears. His design didn’t have a zipper either.
It's interesting to me that they both reinterpreted the jacket with a zip and collar. I was imagining a closure-less letterman sweater style jacket made of cream colored Sherpa fabric with ribbed cuffs and little crocheted or rug tufted 3D bear heads. Those 5 star pants tho. I loved this experiment!

I think the general consensus down here is that the 1-star jacket looks more like what you drew so we'll be happy with that for merch BUT lined, of course. Both look good on you!
They are both cute outfits!!! I personally think the 1 star jacket looked closer to your drawing. I think you looked fantastic in both!!! For the price difference, I would be happy with the 1 star and spend the extra $400 on shoes and a purse. Lol.
Aw, I was already going to say I loved the one star jacket before you said you were giving it away! I know you can see the quality difference between them, but having the heads instead of the whole bears looks more like your drawing and makes it more wearable! The five star pants were definitely better between those two. ❤️💕❤️
I think the 1 star jacket looked great, but definitely needs a lining. I think had it had a lining you would have been happier with it.

Definitely, high in the back low in the front(not to make it sound weird lol) sounds a lot like how pants for women are made
@@weirdaubrey womens clothing is often times constructed differently, the high back and low front accentuates the hips. Not saying he can't wear them but there is a difference between how clothes are constructed based on gender.
@@ceriberi You're right. I actually made the comparison between my brother's dress pants and mine and mine had a high back/low front unlike his that was even.
This was so creative and being a seamstress myself it is NOT easy to make custom clothes, definitely a lot of work put into both outfits I loved them both!
When I saw your adorable design, I was thinking to myself - "if Raphael loves neutrals and cute designs of teddy bears, he'd love the teddy stuff from Urban Planet/Urban Behavior". 😊 I love your sketches and seeing the excitement from you when you opened the boxes, regardless of the outcome of box 2, was truly adorable. ❤️
Whenever possible, please do more of these custom design videos! I love watching drawings translate to something physical. Someone custom made a plushie for me of a character I created, and I watched how amazing the sketch to plush process was. I admire crafty folks!
There is no fixing the $150.00 pants, lol... unless you want a stripe added on the outside of the leg and up to the waistband in a darker color. That would be kind of neat. The cheaper jacket just needs lining added and it is more accurate to what you actually requested.

It's really nice to see your genuine reactions, especially with the first outfit & seeing how happy you were. It's lovely. I smiled really hard when you got your 3d bears, & your art really isn't bad. It's great for what it is.
As someone who sews (mostly for myself & hasn't attempted trousers yet) there were a couple things I thought could be going on with the waist folding weirdly on the 1 star trousers . My first thought was that they might not have appropriately stabilized the waistband by putting interfacing (like a lining, but it doesn't sit against skin) on the inside. Another thought was that maybe they didn't identify the grain of the fabric & might have sewn on the bias (stretchy) part of the fabric instead of on the grain, which can cause a lot of weird folding & stretching problems if the pattern doesn't say to use the bias. Another thought was that they didn't have enough fabric & chose to try & just make it work anyway, which is what I'm leaning towards considering how poorly the legs fit. As for how it sat on the waist, in some sewing patterns allow for more room in the seat of the pants for movement if there's weight on that part of the person & to achieve this (at least in skirts) the waistband in the back is sewn higher than the one in the front to allow room to sit, but if that's what they were going for it clearly didn't work & it most certainly shouldn't have been that noticeable if the size wasn't xl or up.
I honestly wasn't expecting either seamstress to applique (the flat bears) or put 3d bears on the fabric. I was thinking (especially with the 5 star one) that they might use a fabric print on demand service like spoonflower to make a custom print fleece for the jacket, but that really would've hiked the price up! Also can't help but wonder if they made the appliques & little teddy bears themselves, or found them premade.
The 2nd jacket is exactly what you’ve draw. Colors and the teddy motive. The 1st one is really cool.

I love this idea, everyone does the cake ones now, and this was next level. Obviously the 5 star had better craftsmanship but for a premium price , the 1star jacket was not bad for what you paid, but the pants did not look good, kinda ridiculous that they gave you that. but u get what you pay for, so thanks for the inspiration & more great content ❤

The 5 star outfit is 👌💋. The fit of the pant is immaculate. I love it. I think the lighter colored bears make it a bit more chic. They took your vision and made it ✨ fashion ✨. The fit of the trouser, the plaid they picked, the way they did the jacket. I love it!!!

I do a lot of sewing myself and I can appreciate the time, the work and thoughts that went into each of the garments that were customized to you. They both did a good job n the jackets. It can be hard to find the right fabrics to make the trousers tan plad can be at times hard to find. I would loved to get the 1 star jacket.

I ordered custom made coats/wraps for my dogs but I myself, have always had hand-me-downs from my aunts and clearance rack clothes.
The ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ star outfit was amazing, especially the trousers. The fluffy lined jacket looked SO soft but I think the bears on the ⭐ star jacket was closer to your original drawing.
That being said, I would totally wear the ⭐ jacket if I was the chosen one. 😊

To be honest, my favorite of it all was your design/concept. Second favorite was the 5 star. I will not discuss the 1 star trousers. The 1 star jacket was closer to your design, but the materials. . . Ugh. You look very nice in the 5 star outfit and actually very nice in the 1 star jacket.
Being that these were made without you there I am very impressed with eh 5-star outfit. The 1-star pants are ridiculous. The person should have at least made sure the legs matched. This was really fun to watch it! A lining could be added easily to the 1 star and possibly spruced up to make those bears puffy style. It can be saved! Haha. I would love to see another video like this one.
How can anyone sewing commercially not get the leg size the same? I think the 1 star jacket, if it were lined, is closer to your design. The fabric could also be fluffier but the 5 star pants??? They are everything! The fit is perfect and they look awesome on you!!! ❤️ I think over time the weight of the 5 star teddy bears would become an issue but it is still so cute!
I'm a seamstress, and can answer your question. You gotta remember, this is not commercially made. It's not even made with extremely underpaid labor in a factory. An individual made this. My hypothesis is that it is either a team where one person cuts the fabric, and someone else sews it that is rushed. Or its someone who was rushed and is still learning. Also, with no fitting or model to try the pants on a beginner could easily have cut one leg ever so slightly smaller by accident and until it's tried on it would be hard to tell. I've been sewing for over 8 years, and I make items higher quality than the second sewist, but I was once where they are now. Although this is also why I don't make clothes for other people.

I actually reeeeaally love the 1 star jacket. I think it looks closer to your drawing (would’ve been cool if it had the x’s for eyes though) and is more easy to style in my opinion. The 5 star is cool but I would feel so self conscious wearing that 🙈 but I live on a small quite close-minded island so…

I do hobby appeal sewing and I would go for the curved waistband that you held up on the cheap pants. I am a woman though with a full butt and thighs, so I need that vertical fabric in the back to compensate. I also hate tight things on my stomach and love low-mid rise. I would GUESS that maybe the second sewist used a woman's pattern to base the pants off of, especially if you didn't tell her your gender. It appears that your rear crotch curve is longer than you wanted and front crotch curve may be a bit short and flatter, which is what I would look for as a woman. Your body could also have a slightly different hip tilt then average. I do run into the calf issue in women's pants decently often as I do have more muscular legs. Also, there are a ton of differences on how people hold their weight, curves, tilts, and distributions. Pants are hell to sew and fit. I stick with loose simple pants for sewing and even those can be hard.
