In this Logic Pro X tutorial, I will show you a great way to import your drum kits and save them so you can use them in future projects. In addition, I will show you a cheat code to browsing files in Logic without using the built-in logic pro x file browser which has trouble playing back files that aren't in the 24-bit Wav format. I provide you with a workaround that works way better and the best thing about it is that this solution is already built into Logic!

I watched your video of using the ultra beat version, and i gotta tell you what made me like your video the most at first was the fact that you took a little clip and played a beat with some information like a real commercial which technically it was a real commercial but any ways, i really liked that style of video and it got me captured. it was a long video and if it wasn't for a guy asking the same question i asked i wouldn't have seen you had a updated video to watch so I'm about to do that now, thanks!

Sir… from the bottom of my heart… THANK YOU!!!! 😫😫😫 I made the choice to move from FL to Logic (mostly because i hate the workflow of recording audio into FL) But finding a substitute for easily auditioning a new sample was BEYOND DIFFICULT!
This is EXACTLY what I wanted, easily browse through and being able to hit the “>” key to not only audition the sound, but to play with the rhythm as well!!!!! 😫😫😫

Great that we can use alchemy as our file browser, you can also import your drums into alchemy separate. Also I like using the sampler tool to load in my drum samples all in one kit!

When i do the drum machine designer it isnt empty for some reason. I have to clear everything each time and its really annoying.
I also have to repeat these steps to use each sound otherwise the one shot sounds will keep playing/overlapping even when there is no notes recorded.

it just seems so much work to start creating drums in logic, where as FL i can just drag and drop the moment i find what percussion to use , i need a plugin to load up my drums first and select each drum into the playlist? seems very walling ur workflow

Ok cool , but what if our channel strip doesn't look like that - how do we edit that to look like yours.
not sure if it’s been covered already, but is it possible to EQ individual sounds with the DMD. I have presets for each drum sound but I don’t where i can EQ the sounds separately
It is! If you expand the dmd in the playlist window, or in the mixer (look for a little arrow at the bottom to expand the cmd tracks) you can see the individual instrument tracks and add effects to them.

Does drum designer automatically put the 808 & kicks in mono?
I got my drum kits from /r/drumkits. I can't find the drum kit files when I pull up alchemy
What do I do if I click my drive and the kit folders aren’t showing up?
