- This incredible message was preached in 1986, just a short time before the PTL scandal broke forth. In this sermon, Brother Wilkerson prophesies the downfall of many major ministries in America, because they were rejecting the message of repentance, holiness, and separation. This prophecy began to be fulfilled in short order !!
This message also deals with the severe economic catastrophes that are coming upon America and the world and how the Church can be ready.

If he thought the Apostasy was bad in 86 imagine what he would think today 31 years later. There so much false doctrines in the pulpit its hard to find time to rebuke them all.
Finally, someone who speaks Truth!!! Truth is so hard to find anywhere these days.
I loved this man. This is pure, Holy Spirit inspired teaching of the Word of God!!! any of us who've heard this message has no excuse. Of all the false gospel out there we have had the opportunity to hear the truth.
I love David Wilkerson. He preached the truth unashamedly, and is being praised by God right now for being His good and faithful servant...
I too, read "The Cross and the Switchblade" many years ago too; I also read a book he wrote called "The Vision", which was awesome! I was blessed in 1991 to go to his church in New York, Times Square and hear him preach. I believe David Wilkerson was right on the mark!!
David Wilkerson knew the LORD -- and followed HIS Spirit....these messages are sooo good...sooo full of the LORD!! Blessed be the Name of JESUS!! This is the REAL JESUS!!

I had two of his books. He was an amazing man. I regarded him as a true prophet, much of what he said came true about the church. A true man of God has the ability to inspire not manipulate. Praise Jesus!

Praise God for DW, I was going through a dry period, no fresh bread in my Church (bldg)...I've been revived, and weep now for the church, I listen to Pastor David all the time, and am challenged to keep my eye on the finish line and prize!! When you know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.
If your worried about the preacher not preaching Gods message, take it to Papa. I was worried my preacher was preaching to much Love and not enough repentance. I ask God if this person was His preacher. For the next two weeks on Sunday morning I awoke preaching Gods sermon for the day to my wife.
It ended on the second week when I realised and gave thanks for my answered prayer.

Wilkerson's sermons are amazing... I only recently started following Jesus, and for the 6-8 weeks I've been at church there's been no preaching about repentance or about falling away, only about God's love and about how we need to be in church. I fear my church is slowly drifting in the wrong direction.
Omg...he's actually talking about chapters...teaching...I've only come across one church like that in my life so far...I think I might give him a try...
I find it interesting that he mentions the youth ministers several times. The youth they were ministering to are now the ministers. We are hearing a much needed message of repentance now in the church, Thank God. David is now with the Lord in Heaven. I believe his prophecies will soon come to pass. God be with us. I live in auburn Indiana and cant find a church that isn't filled with this very apostasy Brother Dave told us is in the church A few of us now meet in our home, there are so few men of God now in the pulpits.

If you read the preceding chapter
when Paul writes ' that day '
he is talking about the day when the resurrection and rapture come.
Then he mentions 2 things that MUST happen BEFORE
' that day ' (the resurrection and the rapture)
there must be a falling away
if David thought he was in a falling away then in 1986
what would he think now in 2015?
AND
the son of perdition must be revealed.
We are certainly in an age of apostasy now
but the son of perdition - the Antichrist has not yet been revealed.
Sometime after he is revealed and before he comes into full power
then the resurrection and rapture will come.
This will come as a surprise to those who have been taught and believed
they would be raptured BEFORE the AC showed up.
Some will be so scared thinking they must go through the Tribulation
I would not be surprised if they took their own lives.
Some will turn their back on religion thinking they have been deceived by
false teaching.
Some will think they missed the rapture and must not be Christians after all.
Some will look for answers and find posts like this one.

@lizlee77 I'm glad you liked the message. I first heard it in March 1988 when I was a student at Jimmy Swaggart Bible College. Bro Swaggart, though repentant in public, began to teach and hint at a new doctrinal stance that "his flesh had sinned but his spirit remained pure". He blatantly told some associates at that time "I did not sin". That's when we realized that Bro Dave's prophecy was being partially fulfilled and that God was "ruthlessly shattering" a major ministry.

It is amazing to do a word search in the KJV for the words "fall away" or "fell away." The typology in the Old Testament is chilling.

He's kept me for over a decade, and even though at times things get foggy, He ALWAYS provides and brings me back to clear senses especiialy with sermons like these. Love David's preaching - definitely resounds in my spirit. And as much as we know that all the corporate Christianity is not good, it says in the Word that all things work together for good for those that love the Lord - they do preach the Word, so between us and the world stands the Holy Spirit, who has the power to make us grow!!!
It seems to me that the large TV ministries that collapsed within a couple of years of this message being preached were precursors to the REAL shattering that is coming. The collapse of ministries that Wilkerson is prophesying about happens due to an economic calamity hitting the world. I sense that time is now upon us.

@Tommy455ify I so agree with you in regards to Way of the Master is truth. I really don't know much about Mr. Wilkerson because I just learned about him. But my spirit can't stop listening to what he has to share.
I'd like to remind those who listen to this message that David Wilkerson "prophesied" in a very general sense about economic issues, and did not attempt to predict dates or complete details of impending economic possibilities. He was simply talking about things that "could" happen as a result of our national sins using examples of how God dealt with other nations in the past.

Very few men of God have eyes like their Shepherd. It is a prize in this life that few have. The Shepherd has eyes as flames of fire. Do we not see such in this photo?! I have seen two other men so far in my born-again life that had "holy" eyes of fire!
In the demonic realm I have seen "many" a fire of sin's punishment sentenced to the demon possessing the shell it has taken home inside....
Those who walk near and in intimacy with Jesus Christ have a look about them! It is The Holy Spirit Fire!
this was preached the year i was born...and we are living what he was speaking about. That quickly... Interesting what he said about people falling away from child like faith. Reminds me of the ever annoying notion of "conversation" that rob bell popularized and is sweeping the emergent church and interpreting the bible and evangelism in an intellectual and man-based way.
We MUST view the New Testament through the lens of the Old Testament. In order to discern what God is going to do, look at how he has handled like situations in the past. We can not hide behind Christ if we haven't TRULY repented of our filth. Millions of Americans are convinced that they are going to enter heaven BUT they are mistaken because they have rejected the truth of Scriptures. They love Deuteronomy Chap 28: 1-14 but dismiss the rest of that chapter. They have only fooled themselves!
Only those who Love God & Neighbor is going to Heaven....we know that we have a choice - Heaven or HELL ..... REPENT & Choose Jesus Now!

Sometimes it's difficult to tell what's right and wrong and what's true and what's false though... Different people say different things...
The church is not a place when you come you want to feel good. He is a place for sinners to change .It is not a place for entertainment. Jesus Christ did not come to bring peace,but a sword. For the word of God is alive and active. sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit,joints and narrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. so i can not feel to comfortable in the church.Matthew 10:34 ,Hebrews 4:12 it is not also a place for you to listen to prosperity gospel.
It is fine if you want to hold to a preterit view. Nevertheless, this message does not suck anyone into fear, pessimism, or negativety anymore than Pauls rebukes for the church did in his epistles, or the strong rebukes from Jesús himself for the church in Revelation. Furthermore, this message concluded with a posotive note for the victorious church.
Welcome indeed to the love of Christ Jesus! It is all grace, mercy and love IF we revere Him and count Him precious above all things. One of the coolest things in this sermon is not to forsake our childlike faith in God. I came out of a "word of faith church" in which the pastor was listening to all the wrong names; Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar and the false faith teachers devouring the sheep. Yeah the church is mess up because a lot of believers go back to the Egypt because greedy ministries don't care for the poor in the church they keep them poor while they make money off of them bye saying send them a $1,000 and if anyone ask for prayer don't give to them so they go back out in the world ,james2:14-18 many prayer ministries are very Dry there's no anointing its only fleshly I remembered one pastor said the God doesn't have time for his children and then he was married to one women and Divorse her because she wasn't fulfilling his sex needs and married someone else and eventually she took most of his things& Divorse him so he move in with his parents
