1080° Snowboarding is a snowboard racing video game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo. It was released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, and was re-released in 2008 for the Wii's Virtual Console. In the game, the player controls one of five snowboarders from a third-person perspective, using a combination of buttons to jump and perform tricks over eight levels.
1080° was announced in November 1997 and developed over nine months; it garnered critical acclaim and won an Interactive Achievement Award from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. 1080° sold over a million units, and a second installment, 1080° Avalanche, was released for the Nintendo GameCube in November 2003.
This longplay goes to all Match Race difficulties.

Good old n64-days. It was a beautiful time to live in the 90's
You said it.
Hell yes
It sure was I was born in 1994 and this is one of the best games ever
Yes it was
Late 99$ b
One of the best games of all time, hands down.
Es que tiene unas fisicas simplemente Increibles para esa epoca al igual que los gráficos
Wow this brought me back to my golden days
Man oooohhhhhh maaaannnnn.....same here it's like literally PURE NOSTALGIA 😆 & lots of memories thats for sure !!!!!!!!!!
@@dutton420z tell me about it!
This game is one contributing factor in me wishing I could've stayed 10 forever.
@@wolfpackpete6408 Same here...... how quickly 23 years go by😂
@@brandonethereal1084 I know! Have you tried playing it recently? I can't get close to my record times. I used to know the courses inside out but not anymore.
I was addicted to this game. I'd listen to my music while playing and constantly try to beat my own ghost. So much fun. The memories
That’s all I ever did too 😂
It was brilliant doing the time trial beating it & then watching your own performance & then trying to find ways to improve & do better......the camera angles on the replays were excellent 😊
I just want to point out that this was amazing graphics back in the day.
oh yeah for sure. it looks super dated now but back when it first came out, i remember my mind was absolutely BLOWN
The sounds take me back to playing this with my dad. Such great times. Now I’m 24 and it feels like I haven’t gotten any older lmao
Exactly the same feeling for me❤❤❤
Penguin Derby
When did you get an N64? Just askin, because N64 was released like 24-25 years ago, and you’re 24 now
Same for me. I remember all the sounds so vividly. I was too young to know how to play properly so my dad beat the game for me so I could have everything in the game. Crazy to think about since he doesn't have any interest in games now that I'm older lol
@@oliverb.8995 I played when i was like 4-5
The nostalgia... holy hell this takes me back
This game along with the soundtrack looked pretty damn good, especially for the n64
I used to play this game as a young boy in the early 2000s , and I enjoyed it a lot. And I've never been a snowboard enthusiast in real life! The graphics and stage designs reminds me how great the gameplay was. Now I enjoy rewatching it on CZcams!
I've never been a snowboard enthusiast in real life! BECAUSE THERE IS NOT SNOW IN VENEZUELA
I was poor growing up, I was only able to play this along with other games at my friend's. I'm thankful for that.
N64 games were expensive back in the day so you must not have been that poor lol
@@hps69 for real, games pretty much cost the same amount of dolalrs now, but $60 backs then was a whole lot more than $60 now... I did have a nintendo 64 but new games were only give nto me on ver yspecial ocassions, like birthday or xmas... the only other way was to borrow friend's games or rent at blockbuster... good ole days *sips monster*
@@Tirfing88 that sounds like a stereotypical 90s kid's childhood 😂 but yeah my point exactly, $60 games back then was like $90 today, it was crazy cause the cartridges were more expensive material to produce
@@hps69 it's crazy because n64 games these days are so damn cheap but yes indeed back in the day they cost an absolute fortune
Man i miss these days 🤧 never got tired of playing this
Before SSX, this was the best snowboarding game, bar none. I played it to death, beating every challenge.
"You must own this game," was the main advice I remembered from the IGN review.
Back in '98, I used a mono Radio Shack RF modulator to connect the N64 to me and my brothers' old 19-inch, hand-me down, remote less, Curtis TV.
I had a strange compulsion to improve a/v quality in electronics. The Curtis only had a single 75-ohm coaxial input, but by using an active, exterior, RF modulator, I could send the video to the TV for close to composite video quality, but branch the audio off to my Sony mini system.
My father had an "a/v enhancer" device lying around, for tape to tape VCR recordings. It also had an "audio mixer" function.
I would turn off the music for the N64 game, leaving the sound effects on, then pipe my music like Zeppelin, The Who, Beatles, Now!, Or even Phil Collins from a CD player to the mixer and combine it with the (sound effects) audio from the N64.
Awesome times playing 1080, while listening to Beatles' "Day Tripper" !
Back in 1999-2000 me and my best friend playjng this a LOT.
I remember when I First landed a 1080 : )
Gosh my childhood of playing this game with friends and cousins. Time flies by way too fast...
I was 4-12 when I played this game. I was trash
Came out 23 years ago to this day. I loved this game!
I miss this so much.
There’s so much Tommy Hilfiger advertisements, I can’t help but laugh. 8 year old me would’ve never paid attention to that
Sweet classic for the N64
The nostalgia is real. This was one of the first games I ever played. .. I remember it looking so REAL on those old CRT tvs lol. God i havent seen this in 24 years
This was a big part of my childhood omg the nostalgia is insane
man the nostalgia is crazy lol the sense of speed in this game was incredible
This game makes me miss the Drum & Bass boom of the late 90s and 2000s
Ugh, I missed this. It brings back memories. This game got a lot of play, along with Starfox 64, and Mario 64. Oh and Wave Racer. That was lots of fun too.
The nostalgia is insaaaane. This takes me way back
Thanks for uploading! It's my childhood
Bringing back great memories of locking myself in my room with drinks and snacks and playing this for hours.
Wow totally forgot about this, yet this is all in my memory.
I see other blessed people here who loved this growing up, it was truly one of the best games of it time wasn't it? It's sad now that games will never be the same as when you would have to go and play with your friends in person
Brilliant, must get and play this on my Nintendo 64 as soon as possible!
You said “no damage”
Lie detector test determined THAT was a lie
I’m so excited that the switch is bringing this back. I used to play this all the time when I was a kid
Never even seen a snowboard in real life, but I still found this game to be a lot of fun and played it all the time. Actually pulling off a 1080 was so difficult lol
This brings memories back
I remember this game when I was a little kid when I was at my grandma's house growing up she had this and golden eye and other n64 games she put down the n64 in her basement downstairs and me my brothers and my cousins would all play the n64 when we visit her and we used to sleep in the basement too man thoses were the days
I use to play this at one of my friends house when I was younger. Good memories
One of my favourite N64 games.a real arcade in your home!
I remember jumping off the edge and diving down to the slopes below on Dragon Cave. Those were fun times
I could've sworn there was different final stage against *ping*. There was a part where it was an ice ring and everything.
This game needs some practice to be much good at it.
I tried playing once a few years ago. I couldn't do anything I'd been able to do as a kid. I couldn't get off the line quickly. Could hardly turn. Couldn't land jumps... etc.
I didn't know whether to be frustrated or proud when going up against my time attack ghost runs. I knew it would take me forever to get back to that level after over a decade of not playing.
Thinking about 1080°, Zelda, Goldeneye... anyone else wish they could've stayed 10 forever?
The memories...
anybody else hitting up a let’s play of wave race after this? 🤣
Ohhh fuckn oattthhhh
thank you for this
YOU DID A GOOD JOB.
Nostalgia. Conheci toda a dinâmica desse jogo, passava a tarde toda jogando e batendo recordes. Estragando a manete tentado o 1080. Bons tempos
Back when the fewer existing games used to be more focused on Fun than extreme graphics
Not really.. you’ve got it wrong. consoles were limited so they COULDNT do extreme graphics.
@@oliverb.8995 You didn't understand him
@@oliverb.8995 Actually Nintendo were about extreme graphics. For 1998 this was very impressive for a home console.
Ironic considering this game's graphics were impressive for the late 90s.
@@ThunderTheBlackShadowKitty Not nearly as impressive as its fun and playability
The screen bug after winning.. ahhh the memories😢
Remember seeing this in Dixon’s I couldn’t believe it!!!
absolute Nostalgia
This and turok 2 was my childhood. Classic
Best Hit in my Childhood
What a game this was.
Great memories
Man I miss when games had this kind of music, vs today’s games
Idk why but a recent post made me think of this game lmao I was terrible at it but kept trying for years lmao
Nothing but good old time.👌
Great game snowboarding
2:31 you get damage. I want my money back!!
Very Euphoric
Core memory -> unlocked
Man... I miss being a kid.
Insane how far graphics have come comparing this to Steep or Riders Republic.
We need a remaster version
This was my very first game on Nintendo 64 this and excite bike
This and SSX-On Tour had the best Soundtracks! 🥰🥰
Why did I have to get old 😔😢
Great game!
I don’t know how i got to this video but THANK YOU CZcams,
6:52 I remember using that jump to try and do a backflip because the game didn’t have an actual way to perform a flip… I remember rotating sooooo sloooowly. Can’t remember if I ever landed one or not though…
my childhood
I used to play this when i was 5 this game got me into snowboarding and i broke my wrist yesterday and i wanted to check out my inspiration
Used to have this game
Played on this at a mates house once
Thank you for that info
I wish Kensuke would have road off the edge of the cliff at the finish of the last race against glitch guy. Would be an epic way to end the game.
He's glitchy because this must've been played on an emulator
I'm down with that. Retire as champion.
Meanwhile his opponent disintegrates during the celebration 😂
This was the best game every I was so good at it
So golden
Nostalgia...
If you move the stick forward at the start of of race you'll boost
I got the emulation of this game on my PC, played it back on the 64, never beaten it on the console, but on the PC, first try.
Rah ce jeu! Que de souvenirs
Yeah!
A Classic 💯
Nostalgie
The first song on the first race lmao it was even ridiculous back then
27:40 nice corkscrew 😎😎
Bro NOSTALGIA

You didn't take the shortcut on the right side?
Work in my head wowowork in my head work in my head woh🦗🦗🦗🦗
Childhood memories🏂🖤
N64 graphics were miles ahead of the PS 1
0:39 Match Race
yeah, i didn't know what any of the board statistics met either.
Didn’t realize how much the guys voice reminds me of super smash brothers n64. It could be the same guy?
Am I tripping or isn’t the TV supposed to show who ever is in 1st place?
I own that game I enjoy the soundtrack from Golden Forest. Deadly Fall also uses the Golden Forest soundtrack
Damn where's the last run to race against the gold ice guy
This looks so similar to supreme snowboarding
I used to think this game looked so insanely good lol. My memory of it looks like Steep on PS5.
Best gaming n music 😂😂
Miss miss miss!
Goddamn I’m old.
