The rapport thing seems to have happened between the shooting of the episode, over the weekend. He attempted and failed to “self-delete” himself. Spiner talks about it in a CZcams video. The powers that be had to get rid of him, I am guessing for insurance purposes. He only shot for two days, so I guess most of the Varria scenes were not completed yet. Of the two days of footage, I can not seem to find Rapport and the actress who played Varria in the same scene. The other footage is out there. Rapport played him more sinter and darker. Whereas, Sal plays him as a playful, rich boy with a dark undertone. I like Sal’s version better.

I always liked the implication of this episode, with context from later ones, that Data never NEEDED an emotion chip. He could always feel emotion, but the chip would just..aplify it, or make it easier to process? Still it's a nice look into data as a character.

Data was given a choice: Be held captive, disobey Fajo and have him use the disruptor on more people, or take out Fajo who is the threat. If he tried to subdue him his people would probably intervene.

I disagree. Data is processing emotions on a theoretical level. When he installs the chip he starts actually feeling them. It turned out to be a huge difference between theory and practice in the movie.

@@Marekfriday That's an interesting way of looking at it. It would make sense for Soong to program Data in that way.

I want to submit this to Legal what’s his name…. In YS law would Data be justified in killing Fajo?
