Trains at: Liverpool South Parkway, WCML, 06/04/19

A very enjoyable afternoon spent at Liverpool South Parkway located on the West Coast Mainline and the branch line from Liverpool to Manchester where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Northwestern Railway, Northern and East Midlands Trains.
Liverpool South Parkway station was completed and opened in 2006, nearly 30 years overdue as the plans had been put in place and discussed years beforehand to help try and get passengers from Liverpool John Lennon airport into the city itself. They couldn't do a direct line into Lime Street so they had to create a new station to enable a link to be created.
The station itself sits on the former sight of the old Allerton station which was closed in 2005 and demolished to make way for the new station.
There really isn't much else to tell about this station.

Another good video. Pity there weren't any 7-car 222 Meridians working the Aintree racecourse specials as they do each year. I can only surmise that's what LNW were doing with some 8-car formations. Plus that 6-car set you saw in your last video at Liverpool Lime Street before it split and left as a four for Norwich.

From Liverpool South Parkway station you'll have access to John Lennon Airport for low cost airlines such as Easyjet, Ryanair and Wizz Air.

There's a High level and low level layout here. 5 and 6 are down a corridor and below these. The best place to see them on that line is at Hunts Cross, where they terminate.
