Thank you for the video, just to see the snow behind you 😮yes you need a rail. One question do you think I can get away with the drill bit that comes with the rail or should I purchase an extra one , thanks once again & I did purchase this one due to your video .

The drill bit that comes with the kit does work, but it will take you a LOT longer.
I ended up getting a better bit and it made short work of drilling.
Mine still works great. I'm glad I got it.
