Jeff Van Gundy. I remember him saying hes from "the mean streets of Martinez" during a broadcast. Contra Costa's a great county to live in

I love living here in Martinez 💕 tfs.
I miss living in Martinez!
I'm born and raised and I'd love to move back
Martinez is a very BORING town for kids to grow up in. If anything it's a good way for your kids to get in TROUBLE early on in life. The Marina has a HUGE homeless camp.
So if you have kids think twice about moving to Martinez. Please
@stephenpoteete324 respect. I had to get out for the reasons you mentioned. But now that I've lived all over the bay area, and overseas, I'd like my last human breath to be in MTZ. My birthplace.
@@regularolpoet1462 I was born in Walnut Creek in 81. I grew up in mtz, my grandmother had a house behind the post office. Basically my backyard was John Muir home & the railroad tracks where the cave is. I've lived all over the place also.
@stephenpoteete324 All love. I'm the one that brought popping to MTZ in 1979. RIP JJC. My sister and I were the only Polynesians in MTZ.
Forgot to mention the homeless people, currently living in martinez
There is some level of homelessness in just about every city, unfortunately. The challenge isn't as great as in some near by cities.
No diversity, no good food, dead town, old and falling apart. One of the worst places to live if you don't prefer the country life
I hope you'ver chosen to live somewhere that fits your needs and tastes better.
Trippin....its next to Pleasant Hill, Concord, Walnut Creek....plenty of good food and fun things to do....live in West Oakland for a week and tell me Martinez is one of the worst places to live with a straight face....or maybe dodging bullets in Antioch is more of your thing.
@@obijuankenobi420 I'm from the hoods of Richmond and Oakland (from birth to 30s). Yes, Martinez is garbage compared to those two city due to lack of diversity in everything. You just don't have street smarts or just scared of urban places. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄 are you serious, Concord, pleasant hill and walnut creek???????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 those are some of the least diverse places in the country and are suburbs. Nothing but boring chain restaurants or bougie joints. Any place that doesn't have a diverse demographics has bad food and that's the truth (of course if you lived in suburbs all your life you obviously don't care about or have a need for diverse ethnic foods).
1. There is definitely diversity in Martinez
2. It is not dead. The night life has returned in recent years
3. Martinez retaining its old, quaint feel in the downtown area is what makes it special
@@cajayson8301 you must be on the craziest drugs in the multiverse to be calling Martinez diverse. Having a few Mexican joints don't count. But really, thinking Martinez is diverse is a telltale sign that someone has been sheltered all their lives and is uncultured. Just saying truth, so.
